More books!
Monday. 3.9.09 5:43 am
I remember a friend telling me that she read the book that I blogged about before. I just finished the book but right now, I cant find the post where I mentioned the book. I remember typing it and roughly when it shouldve been posted but I cant seem to find the post and I dont remember deleting any posts lately. Maybe I really didnt post about it but I told her while chatting with her... I cant really pin point which...

Anyway, in case my memory betrayed me, I didnt finish The Satanic Verses by Salman Rushdie... the second Middle Eastern author whom book I chucked aside after reading a chapter or so. It contained too many minor details. I should try his other books before I ultimately say that I dont like reading books written by writers of Middle Eastern descent.

I read Number 9 Dream by David Mitchell after my attempt on The Satanic Verses. The book is a bit confusing because there are parts where you are unsure if the character is dreaming or is the situation a reality. Just like a ball coming right at you. Maybe it was purposely written that way to suggest that sometimes life is but a dream. There is also no ending to the book... which I think the author is suggesting that you create your own ending to which type of ending you prefer most. On the overall the book is okay... not too boring yet not that exciting either.

Now I'm reading The Messenger by Marcus Zusak to see if I really like his way of writing or not. A friend said that he is very critical of either the Germans or the Jews... I cant remember which... but I think after reading 2 books, you can roughly guess whats the authors poison.

I'm going to update more often now since I have nothing much to do here, in my hometown other than waiting for my movies to finish downloading, watching them and reading books. Most of my friends who didn't leave town yet is busy doing something. I would love to just go catch a movie with someone.

Outing!
Sunday. 3.8.09 4:58 am
I went to Seremban/ Port Dickson/ Putrajaya/ Cyberjaya with JN, JT and WM. DL met us in Seremban, as planned. It was an absolutely fun day! Started out with us getting lost in WMs car... drove all the way to Cyber/Putra instead of Seremban.. JT then said that its beautiful there at night. We then all agreed to go there after Seremban. Managed to get to Seremban after a few wrong turnings and ended up somewhere in Kajang. Anyway, had beef noodles for lunch and bought some siew pau then we killed some time in DLs place and to fit all in one car. We went to Jusco, Seremban 2 to kill time while waiting for dinner time. We went bowling and it was my first time. I had 2 strikes a big number of zeros and the nail on my thumb is torn about 2cm in. I cant cut it off! All I can do now is for the torn part to grow out of my flesh before I can cut it. I dont know if Im making any sense. As a result to bowling, my arm hurts a little.

Siew Pau!!!

They also managed to get me into a dress. =_________________= wearing dresses and skirts and heels are really inconvenient cause then Id have to make sure that I sit appropriately and that when I walk I got to make sure that I dont accidentally do things that will show the whole world my rear end. I will wear a skirt and heels for fun once in a blue moon but a dress?? Er.. Dont think it will happen anytime soon.

Dinner cost about RM33 per person. We had herbal chicken, crabs, some veggie; yam ring and fish head bihun. After dinner, dropped by DLs place again and picked up WMs car then we went to Port Dickson. Stopped by at Coral Paradise Resort (I think) took a brief tour of the place, started planning some more outings, too pictures at the beach. We head back KL to go Putra/Cyber. A lot of pictures taken there, I shouldve borrowed a camera cause JTs camera was the only one there. OMG! That place does not look like a place in Malaysia AT ALL and its pretty with all the lights. All of us are planning to go back there to do a lot of things at night, which involves taking pictures with the others whom were missing today.

Some of the photos are being uploaded in Facebook as I type this (at about 3AM in the morning). There will be more later on with a lot of tags. Cant wait to get a hold of all of the pictures!! Looks like I need to get some burning done soon.

I cant remember anymore what I wanted to blog... Think this is long enough anyway... I can definitely say that Im so looking forward to our next day trip!! I can see that itd be loads of fun.

2nd Sem recap.
Thursday. 3.5.09 2:14 am
I'm done with my 2nd semester!! Fast eh?? I started it in mid-January and now I'm officially done 2/3 of my first year! I'm happy to be able to waste time for the next two weeks! I'm looking forward to my family trip in a two weeks' time. Not for the people but for all the chocolates I can get from the duty free!!!!!! Guy Lian!!!! Guy Lian!! Thank god I'm able to earn pretty easily while studying or I don't know what to do to get the money I need to buy chocolates. Seriously... to be able to spend RM40 for a box of seahorse shapped chocolates? Yea.. if you want to comment on how I spend my money, it's really none of your bees wax.

Anyway, I said it's a recap.. so here goes.

It was assignment time again and I will be the one editing the assignments. I know my English isnt that good with grammatical errors and spelling mistakes all over, there will always be this one irksome thing which will drive me up the wall. People I work with seem to NOT KNOW HOW TO USE THE. Seriously, theyll use the when it is not supposed to be used and not use them when it is needed. Every organisation only has ONE internal audit function and audit committee so WHY is there no THE in front of the two names of a department, I have no idea.

I have this habit where if I am studying for exams, Id do things that will distract me. I dont know if that is how I get information in my head but thats just how I do things. I also like to study ALL my materials cause I dont like having limited choices in answering questions unless I know exactly what is coming out then Id study smart instead of doing the loser study. I always have Pride and Prejudice on when I study cause of the variety of classics in the movie. I would love to go get the album if that doesnt involve me needing to order it and spend a fortune on it.

Ive also recently watched Moulin Rouge, I know its an old show but Ive never been able to find it lying around. I have to say Ewan McGregor has some good vocals there and how they changed Elton Johns Your Song is just fantastic. I love the version sang by Ewan McGregor than the original one.

Anyone have any idea how to stop ourselves from procrastinating when it comes to sitting for the last paper in an exam period? Most of the time I end up doing anything but studying! I dont feel panicky or anything, just very happily playing all day long.

OKAY! I'm done.. Next stop.. I'm gonna be at home before my next post comes up. Yay!! Take care peeps!

Baa Baa Black Sheep.
Wednesday. 2.18.09 12:33 am
Anyone has a good media player codec to recommend? Ideally something which plays muxed files... I had one, which is the storm codecs media player classic but it had a virus so I switched... I can never find a replacement which plays that files. Some of my animes are in that format... suggestions anyone?

Reminder to self: wearing heels hurts and makes you feel super tired.
Thank god for awesome cream which soothed irritated skin almost immediately so that I didnt get blisters the next day.

Mr Andrews, my Business Law lecturer, I like his classes! It is a little bit boring nowadays (thanks to some people who think he jokes too much, if his jokes are relevant WHY NOT?) I dont know why but some of the seniors dont like him doing so. They like boring lecturers who makes you feel like youre lost in some unknown jungle, unable to find your way out. Today he said, in one of his illustrations that Baa Baa Black Sheep is a rhyme which symbolises communism/socialism because it goes one for my master, one for the maid and one for the little boy who lives down the lane... one bag of wool for everyone regardless of power, wealth and occupation, like the ideals of socialism/communism. For it to symbolise capitalism, the nursery rhyme will have to end with ALL for my master, NONE for the maid and WHO CARES about the little boy who lives down the lane.

I think I shall find something else to procrastinate for the next hour.

cookies & movies
Thursday. 1.1.09 10:24 pm
Mum started making cookies for CNY in mid-Dec, when I was around. It is Kuih Bangkit, the rising cookie literally translated. Of course I took pictures cause I was around since I was bored.

before baking

after baking

mold used to make the cookie

She made two more cookies, jam tarts and semprit when I was back in KL for a while and she plans to make another one. No pictures of the other two because this laptop (which is my mothers) has no Bluetooth and its complicated with the USB since Nokia phones has that program which I have no idea how it works and I need to get the USB thing for Micro SD memory cards.

I watched Transporter 3 with Max, PHwa, Ges and Ges friend, some time ago. The movie was alright. All through the movie, I was thinking where the heck did I saw this guy before and my uncle told me that we just saw Transporter a week or two before I watched number 3. Watched Australia with Sean on Monday. It is an interesting movie, kind of historical but not the bores-you-to-death-National-Geographic type, funny too. Just that its annoying that the people working in the censoring board rates it 13PG yet cut the kissing scenes, might as well not rate it at all. I'm waiting for Bedtime Stories, Benjamin Button, and Monster Vs Aliens to show up on the town cinema listing or I'll watch them in KL.

I cant remember what else I want to blog but I want to say that if I put on weight this month, it is thanks to my mother and her cookies. Oh! And the chocolates Sean bought me (which is totally my own fault cause I can't stop eating).

Hugs To: middaymoon, Illicit, ShaShaBoo, Zanzibar, Mockiller, and doreen1991.
