True Blood
Monday. 11.10.08 1:01 pm

I've been watching True Blood (show on hbo about vampires) with Jenn. It's an awesome show. I would strongly recommend it to anyone. For once someone has actually thought of some interesting new ways to do vampires. Not like that Twilight bullshit.

I'm seconds away from a job interview that's going to take place on Yahoo im. I saw the job posting on Craig's list, and sent my resume in an email. Almost immediately I got an email saying my resume had "passed" and that I should sign onto yahoo and add this address and be online by 10am.

I give it 50/50 that it's a scam. We'll see.

Afirmative Action
Thursday. 11.6.08 1:38 pm

To be honest, I say 'good riddens' to affirmative action, and I wish more states would do away with it. I really don't feel it's necessary anymore. Not because racism doesn't exist.. but because at this point if you're discriminated against for your race, age, gender etc there are plenty of actions you can take. You can sue, for one thing.

In that light, I really feel affirmative action is an outdated measure that needs to be abolished. People shouldn't get jobs or grants or be accepted to colleges because that employer or educational institution needs to fill their quota of minorities. It should be based SOLELY on merit. End of story. That's my opinion anyway.

The more I read and watch news about the gay marriage ban in California, the more I'm glad I don't live there anymore. I'm also glad I won't have to face my dad or anyone in his church. I really don't think I could deal with that. I know they think they're doing the right thing, but that's what makes intolerance all the more disgusting and disturbing is when someone doesn't do it out of hate, but thinks they're doing it because it's right.

I'm considering starting a website/forum for non-religious people like me. People who've been in church, were raised in church, and have come to the realization that they don't believe in religion anymore. It's a difficult path to walk, especially when you come from a religious family. It can be lonely, because you can't share your beliefs (or lack thereof) with your family.

Anyway, it's something I'm thinking about. Not sure if anyone would even join. heh.
