Today I heard she cried..
Sunday. 11.19.06 11:05 pm
I took my best friend to the airport this morning. She was going to Japan for her fathers "homecoming". It has been one year since is death. In the Japanese culture they celebrate the one year and I think every year after their death. It is a rememberance thing but I think the first year is the most important.

She called from the airport because the travel agent booked her flight for the wrong MONTH. She was stuck at the airport with plans for her fathers special event and no way to get to Japan. She was in tears. My friend NEVER cires. I have not seen her cry but she told me that she was in tears and did not know what to do.

The flight attendant was able to help her by selling her a buddy pass for $800.

Enemy to my own culture II
Monday. 11.20.06 1:53 am
Just recently my aunt (hula teacher) graduated her first class of students. She has always had a class that she was grooming and we always started and never finished. I hated it. It was like a dog and pony show. I felt like I had to learn so many things....stop, and start all over again. I got so tired of it. It was like a dog chasing his tail. Well, she finally followed through and graduated a group of students that started in her school 4 years after I did. Now they can become hula teachers.

Am I sad or bitter? NO. More power to them.

Poverty China produces obese kids
Monday. 11.6.06 10:04 am

China is overpopulated and many areas are poverty stricken and yet 60 million chinese are considered to be obese. According to the State Food Nutrition and Consultant Committee in China, "An increasing number of Chinese are eating more fat and junk food but less grains and vegetables, leading to a high number of cases of high blood pressure and diabetes." To rectify this problem, China will need to narrow their regional income gap to help improve the diet of people in poverty-stricken areas.

Flu Season

Don't kiss your baby if you have a cold

The flu is very contagious. I took the flu shot and everyone around me is getting sick. As for me, I am feeling GREAT!!! One myth of transferring a cold is by kissing. Dont kiss the baby your parents would say..

The truth: A peck on the lips probably won't hurt, says Neil Schachter, M.D., author of "The Good Doctor's Guide to Colds & Flu. " Unlike a sneeze or a cough, which bring forth viral-rich fluids from your airways, the saliva hanging out in your mouth harbors very little cold virus -- so it's surprisingly hard to pass the illness through kissing. The best way to keep your baby from catching your cold: Wash your hands often.

OK, SO WHAT ABOUT FRENCH KISSING WITH YOUR BF AND SWAPPING SALIVA?? Is that safe?

My son is really not college material and yet he is going. I am proud of that. I think what he needs is an opportunity, not a JOB. Yes, there is a difference. One is a career path and the other stands for Just Over Broke. I introduced him to some people from my school that are professionals in various fields and he did our video work for us. One of my old classmates just called me and asked for my sons number. I am hoping that he is looking to give my son an opportunity to do video editting for them. I will keep my fingers crossed.

My Bathroom Style (jolenesiah)
Sunday. 6.17.07 2:27 pm

What Your Bathroom Habits Say About You

You are very independent and self-centered. You don't solve other people's problems - and you don't expect them to solve yours.

You spend a lot on clothes, and you tend to be a very dresser. However, it's hard for you to throw away trendy clothes when they go out of style.

You are a very outgoing person. You are true to yourself, and you never hold back.

In relationships, you are practical and realistic. You have a romantic side, but you only let it out when it's appropriate.

Ex-employee says FAA warned before 9/11
Saturday. 11.25.06 11:35 am
This is another case of retaliation against a whistle blower. Ex-employee Bogdan Dzakovic, a member of the elite squad for security systems at the airport states that he warned the FAA of potential security breaches in their system. He said that his team was able to sneak in bombs and submachine gunsright past the screeners. When he reported these findings to the FAA they told him to cover it up.

Once 9/11 hit numerous FAA officials were stating,"How could we have known this was going to happen?" They did know. They were even warned of the holes in their security.

As a result for whistle blowing, Dzakovic was demoted to a desk job where he does remedial tasks such as, hole-punching, updating agency phonebooks and twiddling his thumbs. He cant really complain though. They did not give him a pay cut so he gets paid $100,000 for doing his entry-level job.

I like the way you think..
Friday. 11.24.06 12:27 am
Nintendo is coming out with a couple new features for the DS. With the new Tony Hawk game there is a feature where you can "taunt" the other player. You click the taunt button and record your voice to be sent to the challenging player. This is good if you are playing via wifi and want to "egg" on our competition.

A second feature is this...

Nintendo (Nintendo Europe, at least) has confirmed the cleverly-named "Nintendo MP3 Player" for a December 8th launch, coinciding nicely with the Wii launch that day. The SD card-based player is fairly well self-contained, mainly leeching off of the DS for controls and power -- it even has its own headphone port -- but that means it can also work with the less-powerful Game Boy Advance/Advance SP/Micro lineup, which is always a plus. Sound can at least be routed through the DS' headphones and speakers. No word on price, so we'll stick with that €30 figure, and apparently Nintendo isn't including any SD card in the box, but we're sure you'll be able to find one somewhere to match with the nifty player. Keep reading to spy pics of the incredibly odd interface Nintendo has cooked up for this thing.
