Today was the first day of classes.

I only have one class on Tuesdays and Thursdays: Metals and Silversmithing I from 8-11am. I have to get up early to wake up and get ready in time to get a good parking spot, but that's okay 'cause it's my only class on those days so I can just go back home and sleep. :D
On Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays I have Intro to Humanities 9-10am, and then Elementary French II noon-1:30. Not bad, 'cause I get a two hour lunch, and I'm out by 1:30. This semester is going to be a breeze. Well, mostly.

Being Thursday, I only had M&S. From the sound of it, it'll be fun and interesting, but somewhat time consuming. But that's to be expected with something artsy, I guess. The only :( thing about this class, though, is all the materials and stuff you have to buy. But that's to be expected, too.
After class (which got out early - 9:30 instead of 10:50), I rushed back to my house 'cause I forgot my wallet when I was grabbing my stuff this morning. Then I did a few things before I left to go back to school *gasp!* to just hang out with friends for lunch that I hadn't seen all summer.

Tomorrow I have my humanities and French classes. I loved my French class last semester, and I have the same professor this semester, and I'm excited to get back in. My humanities class should be interesting. I foresee boring papers and reviews that I'm gonna have to write... but whatever. It'll be fine.

I've recently gotten around to utilizing the inter-library loan service the local public library offers. Through this service, I have gotten tons of CDs that the library here doesn't have. While this is all great and wonderful, and everything, but they seem to all come at once, in groups of at least 5 or more. (One day I had 21 in at once. o_O) Now I have to import them all......... the stack next to my computer is growing to more of a pile. Computer, get to work!

I've been thinking about calling my car "Jack" or "Steve". I don't really know why those names; guess I've just always liked those names for something casual and familiar. What do you think?

The Kooks - Konk

GOOD album. I've been listening to it all day. :)

P.S. (12:15a 8/15)
 New layout. :D

(I feel like I should apologize for burdening you all with my freaky outbreak of fangirlyism the past couple of weeks. I'm only eccentric over things like this over shortish amounts of time. I'm better now, I promise. It probably won't happen again for a couple of months... 'til the movie comes out. lol)

I have finally switched out from the suffocating "Breaking Dawn" layout. Whoo! I have a new layout, but it's still in the developmental process, so I just put up an old one for now.

I finished reading Breaking Dawn, and, while I don't want to give anything away, I must say I am satisfied. It's a good ending to the Twilight series. I didn't concoct a dream ending of my own, so I had no pre-conceived notions to disappoint. I like to go into something expecting nothing, so the experience always "exceeds expectations". Never a disappointment!
Which is pretty much my strategy for the upcoming Twilight movie. If I don't think about it too much, I won't be disappointed. And it'll help that I won't pick up the book again 'til after the movie. Last time I read the book right before the movie came out was The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Compared to the book, the movie totally sucked and got TONS of stuff wrong, thus the sucking. Since then, I have vowed to not read the book to something 'til after I've seen the movie. I'd hate to come away disappointed like that again.

I think later I'll post a "reading" with some of my views and favorite parts of the book, that way I won't be giving away anything unless you click on the right link - at your own risk! We'll see when I get around to that. ha

IN OTHER NEWS (what?! news other than Twilight?! I'm sorry for my brief fangirlism the past couple of weeks. I'm better now, I promise.)
Um... I'm going to a concert Friday night. Should be fun, and worth the gas money. lol

Um... so other than work and reading, that's all that's really been going on.

BUT!!! School's about to start! It feels weird to be excited about something like school. I think my excitement is largely due to the fact that it'll be something other than work or blah-ing around the house. It'll be a nice change of pace. Besides the waking up in the morning part.... :/ And I haven't been able to see any of my school friends all summer, so it'll be nice to hang out with them again. :)

And, I've caught up on watchin' all the Really Real Show episodes. The show is pretty much just a bunch of Youtube videos of the band Family Force 5. A lot of the content is fictitious, just the band bein' ridiculous, playin' around and stuff. The ridiculous factor makes 'em great, and very entertaining to watch. I've burned a lot of time watchin' them videos...

Because I work Sunday afternoon, I may not resurface until Monday. ;D

I've run out of... (Thursday. 7.31.08)

The Breaking Dawn midnight release party at Border's bookstore is tomorrow. I'm so excited. I've already finished re-reading Twilight AND New Moon. But because my sister left her copy of Eclipse at a friend's house, i haven't been able to re-read that one yet. She won't get it back 'til either tonight or tomorrow, but that's fine. All I really wanted to do was re-read the last chapter or so.

I don't really know what all is going to go on at the release party. I'm just gonna show up, and try not to get too bored or lonely in the bookstore, and get involved with whatever I can.
I'm going by myself, as far as I know, 'cause my little sister is going to a different store with a friend, and the only other person that I know of that reads the books is my friend Angie, and she has to work Saturday morning. I'm hoping she'll at least be able to make an appearance. I don't really want to go by myself....
 But whatever.

Since I ran out of Meyer stuff, I caught up on my pile of manga I'd been putting off in my "Twilight" craze. This morning I read volumes 1-4 of Paradise Kiss. I'd already seen the anime, and now I'm finally reading the manga. The library here only had volume 5 for some reason, so I had to get the other volumes through inter-library loan. But anyways.
It's good. But I still like Nana (another series by the same manga-ka, or author) more. Maybe 'cause I've liked that one longer? Who knows...

School starts in exactly two weeks. I'm really excited. Mostly 'cause I'll finally get to see kids I haven't seen all summer. That'll be great. And maybe I won't be quite so consumed in my immediate circle of work, reading and sleep. That'll be nice, too.

But now, I have to buy textbooks. Bleeeehhh.....

[note: Numazon still isn't working :/]

New layout! I'd had this idea in my head for a couple weeks now, and I've just now done it today. It only took me a few hours to finish it all, but I think I'll keep it like this. At least for a while.
Note: the "quote" below the words "breaking dawn" in the header image are just some that'd been running in my head for a while. I'd totally be up to customizing it to have someone's favorite BD quote in its place.

Freebie avatar! If you want it! I guess! You know what to do.

So.... can you guess what I've been doing lately? ha

I'm over half-way through with re-reading Twilight: page 352 out of 498. When I'm done with that, depending on how close it is to BD's release, I may just go and re-read the last few chapters of Eclipse. But anyways.

Recently in my Twilight frenzy, it has grown and reached to the realm of the movie that's coming out this December. I've downloaded all kinds of photos [mostly, if not exclusively, of Robert Pattinson] and watched videos [again, mostly RP]. This has taken up most of my free time the past couple of days. (This is probably why I haven't finished Twilight yet. ha)

 Some favorite findings:

 But anyways!

If anyone would like this Breaking Dawn layout, let me know and I'll send ya the code! Also, I can tweak some things, like quotes, etc, so you get what you really want from the layout.

Now, off to sleep, so I can wake up and get back to reading! ha
