I know what tendrils are, but I tend to associate them with plants, so then I thought of her having plant tendrils for hair, and it made me think of Play-doh spaghetti, which is a similar thickness.

I didn't like history because there was always so much focus on the wars and the various battles in them, which I really could care less about.

And we were discussing my bookmark, which gives tips on how to avoid date rape when possible. (It says that date rape is not always avoidable...) He was shocked by the subject matter and didn't think it was ever unavoidable. I said I wasn't so sure about that, and then we talked about how my friends like to joke that I'm going to get raped someday and how some of the warnings on the bookmark do apply to me.
