Speak to My Finger
Books
Books I have completed reading since January 2021:

Hakodate Homestay!
Friday, October 28, 2011
I thought I won't need to give speeches as an AYL, but I had to! And I was cheering my Youth Leader to give his best when he gave his in Saga.

When I arrived in Hakodate for my homestay, the National Leader from Myanmar, approached me to give a speech, and I have to say yes. Anyways, amongst of all speeches, I had the easiest. The gist is to say thank you for hosting the participants. Somewhat I felt lucky because I have written a similar speech for my profile book. I asked the translator how long my speech should be, and she said simply the shorter the better. So I said candidly I will make it one minute. And she replied GOOD. So be it.

My fellow SG members from other countries commented positively, so did the translator who said it was short and sweet and the pronunciation was good.

(Here's a picture of my SG members during our homestay matching reception).

It was great to receive such feedback. Thinking back... how come I'm calm and not rushing through my words when giving speeches but not during normal conversation?

Tidbits: I'm still keeping my speech paper. =)
