Since June 2006... - - - - - - - - - - - - - The Dead Emcee Scrolls by Saul Williams [61.3%] - - Junk Science: An Overdue Indictment of Government, Industry, and Faith Groups that Twist Science for Their Own Gain by Dan Agin, Ph.D. [64.4%] - - - - - - - - 1984 by George Orwell [18.8%] - - - | A week fraught with science. Sunday, January 4, 2009 @ 2:34 am So what else is new? I have to find some time this week to get out to the Falconer Biology Library at Stanford to track down a buttload of articles for the colon cancer project. Also, I will be going back to NASA for a few hours to help my ex-PI identify and locate some samples for elemental analysis. I also need to help my sister with her science project by constructing a makeshift incubator for her nutrient agar plates on which she will streak different samples swabbed from different places in the house. (Of course, I helped her design the experiment. It's not like she knows anything about microbiology from her 7th grade science class.) Science, science, science... a.k.a. my life. 4 Comments. » ikimashokie on 2009-01-04 02:37:47 Graaah. Anyway. Around here, it's always the kids who drain batteries and test paper products who win. That sort of crap always angered me. Stupid science fairs. :/ » ikimashokie on 2009-01-04 02:38:49 Wow that test sounds like it could be fun. Or convicting! haha » middaymoon on 2009-01-04 08:05:30 ryc Yes! Oh my goodness, it pissed me off. Then they try to use the "obviously your parents did it" excuse. Because yes, my parent lets their child run willy-nilly around dangerous chemicals that the child wants to use for their project/experiment. I did one that was awesome, of course I had help, I was what, 10? and using crazy chemicals and electricity. Some kid with the stupid paper towels won. Damn paper towels won every stinking year. I stopped caring about the fairs after that, and even in high school, some kid won the state fair with draining batteries. But yeah, most of those people are off clerking somewhere or doing something not quite as impressive... haha. » ikimashokie on 2009-01-04 09:38:30
