A few words
"When we describe the Moon as dead, we are describing the deadness in ourselves. When we find space so hideously void, we are describing our own unbearable emptiness." ~ D.H. Lawrence "Is the meaning of life defined by its duration? Or does life have a purpose so large that it doesn't have to be prolonged at any cost to preserve its meaning?" "Living is not good, but living well. The wise man, therefore, lives as well as he should, not as long as he can... He will always think of life in terms of quality not quantity... Dying early or late is of no relevance, dying well or ill is... even if it is true that while there is life there is hope, life is not to be bought at any cost." ~ Seneca "People will tell you nothing matters, the whole world's about to end soon anyway. Those people are looking at life the wrong way. I mean, things don't need to last forever to be perfect." ~ Daydream Nation "All Bette's stories have happy endings. That's because she knows where to stop. She's realized the real problem with stories-- if you keep them going long enough, they always end in death." ~ The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes "The road now stretched across open country, and it occurred to me - not by way of protest, not as a symbol, or anything like that, but merely as a novel experience - that since I had disregarded all laws of humanity, I might as well disregard the rules of traffic. So I crossed to the left side of the highway and checked the feeling, and the feeling was good. It was a pleasant diaphragmal melting, with elements of diffused tactility, all this enhanced by the thought that nothing could be nearer to the elimination of basic physical laws than deliberately driving on the wrong site of the road." ~ Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita "It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend." ~ William Blake Think about it Musicalities! Kill that boredom!

I didn't take a picture of it before I inked it, since pencil doesn't usually show up well when you use the flash. You may recognize the figure from a previous picture I did... The inking took me like... fifteen minutes maybe? It was pretty quick compared to my last project, which took several hours. X| (It was three pages long and a lot more complicated though, so y'know...) Larger version HERE. I shouldn't have draw a full line between his right arm and chest, but I can't really fix it now. :| This is after I colored it a bit. I colored the uh... bandaged guy first, then the fish, and then started on the cloud/water. I wasn't going to add the fish in the beginning, but the prof kept asking what was going to be in the cloud, so I had to think of something. Larger version HERE. This is after I finished coloring the whole thing lightly. The prof told me he thought it should "pop" and be "more punchy". What the hell does that even mean? I mean, I kind of got the sense that he wanted the colors to be more vibrant, but punchy? What does punchy mean? I feel like the designer in THIS COMIC. Anyway, I worked on the colors a bit in the right page, as you can see. Larger version HERE. Here is the final product... I'm not sure why, but the left side still has somewhat lighter colors. My hand was getting tired from mashing the pencils into the paper though, so I decided I didn't care and said it was done. I actually don't care for the piece very much, but I'm pretty much guaranteed an A, so whatever. (Sorry for the angled picture/unaligned pages; I couldn't make it work straight-on.) I also worked some purple into the black background, but I don't think you can tell in this picture. Larger version HERE. The whole thing, start to finish, took me several hours. As you may have noticed, I don't really have any training in coloring, so it's not as... nice as it might've been if I'd taken any art classes past elementary school. X| Anyway, here are some pictures of food: Raspberry explosions. Vegan popcorn flavored with nutritional yeast. Most delicious popcorn I have ever had. EVER. Okay that's it for now. 6 Comments. I like the pic. For some reason, the little bandaged nub is my favorite part. No idea why. I HAVEN'T HAD POPCORN IN SO LONG ughghghgh gimme some... » The-Muffin-Man on 2010-04-28 06:48:18 That comic you linked: I've read that same one before! I knew what it was going to be before I even clicked it and I was like NO WAI. » middaymoon on 2010-04-28 09:06:45 I CARE That popcorn looks yum. I want some. Yes, you definitely should not have drawn the line. The cloud reminds me of the U.S. for some reason... I like the fish. Are they piranha? I like the ones that are stAring at you. A.A » Silver-dot- on 2010-04-28 10:34:26 i like the drawing. i know you were hesitant about the fish, but i think they are awesome. » thaitanic on 2010-04-29 08:39:01 LOL! I love the designer from hell!!! I love those raspberries but we can hardly get them here! » Nuttz on 2010-04-29 10:12:51 R:C Well, I knew that these things actually happened in real life... just never thought it would happen to me. Because why the fuck would it ever happen to me? Awkward all around. » ranor on 2010-04-29 01:56:59
