You're unsure if I am a loose end or a strand
that waits for you to mend or understand
A few words
"When we describe the Moon as dead, we are describing the deadness in ourselves. When we find space so hideously void, we are describing our own unbearable emptiness."
~ D.H. Lawrence

"Is the meaning of life defined by its duration? Or does life have a purpose so large that it doesn't have to be prolonged at any cost to preserve its meaning?"

"Living is not good, but living well. The wise man, therefore, lives as well as he should, not as long as he can... He will always think of life in terms of quality not quantity... Dying early or late is of no relevance, dying well or ill is... even if it is true that while there is life there is hope, life is not to be bought at any cost."
~ Seneca

"People will tell you nothing matters, the whole world's about to end soon anyway. Those people are looking at life the wrong way. I mean, things don't need to last forever to be perfect."
~ Daydream Nation

"All Bette's stories have happy endings. That's because she knows where to stop. She's realized the real problem with stories-- if you keep them going long enough, they always end in death."
~ The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes

"The road now stretched across open country, and it occurred to me - not by way of protest, not as a symbol, or anything like that, but merely as a novel experience - that since I had disregarded all laws of humanity, I might as well disregard the rules of traffic. So I crossed to the left side of the highway and checked the feeling, and the feeling was good. It was a pleasant diaphragmal melting, with elements of diffused tactility, all this enhanced by the thought that nothing could be nearer to the elimination of basic physical laws than deliberately driving on the wrong site of the road."
~ Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita

"It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend."
~ William Blake

It's not quite white, but still. My background was black for several years... this is something of a change, yes?

Today is Angie's birthday! I made her cookies and gave her the bear. (She didn't know it was a bear, she thought it was some sort of "mythological creature" that I just made up. :P) Also I drew up a card five minutes before leaving for school. It did not turn out great but it was alright.

I'm quite sad about the cookies. :/ It seems like the past few times I've made that recipe something has just gone wrong. I don't know what, either! D: This time they were too flat so I think maybe more flour/oatmeal should have been added... (I was in a bit of a rush last night so I spilled some flour, but it wasn't a WHOLE lot...)

Listening to Hypnotica. It's a pretty good album for the most part. I don't really like 'I Wanna Touch Your Soul'... the computer voice makes it sounds unpleasant.

Hey, you know what? I don't really like white pants. I just realized that today. There's something about them that makes them weird to me.

Also those posters that tell you what to do in case of different emergencies? Well I read the one for eye injuries and it was like "in case of a large object [or something?] place a cup over the eye..." and I was freaked out. I kept imagining some horrible like, chunk of metal or something, lodged into someone's half-collapsed bloody eyeball. Agh!

I don't know why I have this awful fear of ocular injury, really I don't. :/

Oh, this cashier at Trader Joe's remembered my mom and me from the last time we were there... it was a little weird. I mean, it's cool that he gets personal, but it made me a tiny bit uncomfortable because that... just doesn't really happen around here. Mostly there's this kind of 'leave me alone' or 'buzz off!' attitude you get with the unsociable asian people. I dunno...

I loved it until I saw the deeply disturbing image on the right.

Arghhhhhh, that made my eyes hurt. Particularly my right eye, for some reason.

Also, like the new layout. :]

Hours later... >.> I'm not sure what I think about the green/gr(a/e)y... Maybe it will take a bit of getting used to in contrast.

I hate going places and the person is all "zomg it's you!". We're totally friendly with a waitperson at at least one local restaurant... :/

I like the shade of green your font is in.

Tonight, some stripping would be welcome. Seizured or not.

It's super disturbing.

It reminds me of the art I'd see done by the rape victims I worked with at the rape crisis center.

I would guess that it's the butter. If it's too hot or zapped in the microwave, it changes the consistency of the cookies.

R:C- Ah really now, if we were all perfect than what would be the challenge?
» jinyu on 2009-03-28 11:23:27

whenever I watch someone get lasik surgery done, I cringe, but I still want to get it done. my dad had an aversion to eyes. he was a firerfighter so he saw all kinds of stuff, but if the injury involved eyes, he'd have someone else take care of it. he couldn't even watch my mom put in contacts
