A few words
"When we describe the Moon as dead, we are describing the deadness in ourselves. When we find space so hideously void, we are describing our own unbearable emptiness." ~ D.H. Lawrence "Is the meaning of life defined by its duration? Or does life have a purpose so large that it doesn't have to be prolonged at any cost to preserve its meaning?" "Living is not good, but living well. The wise man, therefore, lives as well as he should, not as long as he can... He will always think of life in terms of quality not quantity... Dying early or late is of no relevance, dying well or ill is... even if it is true that while there is life there is hope, life is not to be bought at any cost." ~ Seneca "People will tell you nothing matters, the whole world's about to end soon anyway. Those people are looking at life the wrong way. I mean, things don't need to last forever to be perfect." ~ Daydream Nation "All Bette's stories have happy endings. That's because she knows where to stop. She's realized the real problem with stories-- if you keep them going long enough, they always end in death." ~ The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes "The road now stretched across open country, and it occurred to me - not by way of protest, not as a symbol, or anything like that, but merely as a novel experience - that since I had disregarded all laws of humanity, I might as well disregard the rules of traffic. So I crossed to the left side of the highway and checked the feeling, and the feeling was good. It was a pleasant diaphragmal melting, with elements of diffused tactility, all this enhanced by the thought that nothing could be nearer to the elimination of basic physical laws than deliberately driving on the wrong site of the road." ~ Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita "It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend." ~ William Blake Think about it Musicalities! Kill that boredom!

I am not sure what to say about that. There are things I've been reading that seem interesting to write about, but not in short enough posts that I feel I can manage them with the level of energy/motivation I have. So then... I end up writing nothing because I'd rather not write about something that doesn't seem worthwhile. On my own blog. Hah. Oh well. I do have some images I'm terribly late in sharing. Kyle sent me some things as a gift to commemorate 10 years of friendship. There is... an obvious theme. Similar to that bird package gift he got me awhile ago where all the things had the word "bird" in them somehow. I needed an onion for a recipe I was making and we somehow didn't have any in the house, so I went out and bought a single onion and then drove with it on the passenger seat, with no seat belt because I had no regard for its safety. One of my new birds has been warming up to me! Sort of. He'll jump on my hand for food now. :) He won't come near me otherwise, but it's very cute that he'll eat out of my hand. He's so eager that when I bring out the food bag he hops over to watch me, and sometimes he'll jump on the door and hang there or run over to the corner of the cage nearest me. My other bird doesn't want to have anything to do with me though, haha. I've been sick since Sunday. Not sure what it is, but I don't usually get hit so hard by sickness, or at least I haven't in awhile. Started off with a sore throat, but it's mostly just congestion/coughing and that kind of... mental fogginess you get from being sick, now. Standard fare I guess. It hit at probably one of the worst times it possibly could have, though, because I'm right at the end of the semester and I need to write my final papers. Have been incapacitated enough that I haven't done any real work on those papers, but I'm hoping I'll be able to finish them in time. Ugh. Despite that, I'm not really in a bad mood or anything. It's inconvenient but it's not bothering me all that much. Just hope I can get everything done. My dad gave me some old Sudafed, the strong stuff that's pseudoephedrine HCI. Together with my prescription codeine cough syrup (since I'm allergic to dextropmethorphan) I have two meth ingredients. I don't know what else goes into meth. Bleach? If I drank some bleach to wash these down would my body become a meth factory? I mean I'm 85% sure I'd just die but what if, instead, I underwent a superhero transformation and my superpower was being able to make meth with my body. That would be probably one of the worst superpowers I can think of, but I feel like someone could write an offbeat comic about it. In other meth-related news, I've been chatting with someone who lives in Australia and he said that in Australia, meth doesn't have the same stigma it has here, and it's just a party drug. That's kind of crazy to think about. I know that psychology/culture factor into people's subjective experience of drugs, but that's a bigger difference than I would have expected. Anyway, that's your fun fact of the day I guess. Meth is a party drug in Australia. Remember that if you get roped into a very strange game of international amateur Jeopardy somehow. 0 Comments.
