When Cynacism Strikes
Sunday. 9.20.09 2:10 pm
I saw The Spirit last night. Gotta say, I didn't think much of it. Seemed awfully childish to me. The plot was simple, the villain was simple, the main character was frightfully simple...The Octopus reminded me of Floop from Spy Kids. With a villain as entertaining as all that, it's hard not to have some really funny parts...but those were the only things the movie had going for it. The visual effects were sort of annoying, honestly. The soles of his feet have snow on them! Ohh my gosh!

-grunt-

It was a kid's movie that was taking itself way too seriously. Or an adult movie that was way too childish.

Yeah, according to this theory, the magnitude of infinity of the real numbers (aleph-one) is the same as the magnitude of infinity between 0 and 1. The infinity of the real number line is just aleph-one (the number of numbers between the numbers 0 and 1) times aleph-zero (the number of natural numbers), and aleph-zero is so much smaller than aleph-one that it turns out to just be generally equal to aleph-one [countable infinity*uncountable infinity = uncountable infinity].

then when you get to aleph-two, it's like crazy town.

i'm very confused about the comment above. i was already going crazy about the idea of infinity, but i didn't realize there could be a countable infinity and an uncountable infinity. anyway.

yeah, the spirit seemed pretty awful to me. it didn't keep my attention very well, and most movies (even bad ones) do. i didn't like the lackies. they were really annoying.

But Floop is a mad man! Help us! Save us!
Good to hear this about The Spirit. I checked it out from the library once, but didn't get around to watching it. It looked lame enough jut by reading the back cover.

"We're All To Blame"
I've either heard this song before, or it sounds super like something else I've heard. I'm not sure which it is... X]

Considering the negative comments and press I'd been reading BEFORE the movie came out, I'm not surprised...
