There's a thing
Saturday. 2.16.08 6:00 pm
about posting on the internet. Normally, when people travel somewhere new, it's exciting. It's a big deal, either because the destination is well known, because the culture is so different, or both.

However, since I'm posting on the internet, there are sure to be people (maybe virtual or imaginary, but this is still just a theory. Shut up.) who already live in that destination and don't think it's a big deal. Maybe they're sick of it.

....

So, I'm in Florida, and pretty excited by it. The weather is sunny, maybe a bit too bright, but the temperature could not be more PERFECT. Well, it could, but that's just because of wind chill. Whoo.

My cousins are the greatest. Niko is 2, and Valeria is 5. I have to say that they're very cute. Plus, they love to play and are totally fun to hang out with.

I wish I wasn't leaving on Monday.

Oh, and the plane ride here was a jerk. They overbooked and almost kicked my mom and brother off. Then, then I had a seat between a nice girl and an Ausie, and Mom made me go to the back with her. (I'm an ignorant American, so I'm automatically facinated with foreign accents. Another thing the interweb makes light of.)

Please excuse all my typos. I know they're there somewhere. I'm not using Firefox, so I can't spell check EVERYTHING. I rely on that far too much.

*Edit* Actually, I think someone said Niko was three. Now I'm all confused.

Wow! I didn't know that either of those things... I love it how whenever humans figure stuff out, they usually find an animal or plant right afterwards that has already figured it out. I'll have to look up this pistol shrimp. So what kinds of things does the brain pick up? Like bad vibes? I'm reading this book about people who walk into a place and sense that something is wrong but they don't know why, so they get out of there and later something bad happens there. They're try to figure out the science behind those kinds of feelings. One time, they were studying haunted houses, and they detected a really really low sound way too low in frequency to be heard by human ears, but when people heard it, it induced this incredibly fearful feeling, like fight-or-flight. They still couldn't figure out what in the house was making that noise, but they could figure out that the noise was what made the house creep everyone out so much. Maybe the noise was being made by the UNDEAD.

ps--- Just read the entry about your dad's journal, and then followed it to Muffin Man's to figure out the story. I'm real sorry about that. I'm glad you have his journal. You'll have to remember to keep a journal when you go to crazy places and then you can let your kids read it even though you won't be gone. But you wonder if they'll appreciate it as much!

Firefox spell checks? N00b!

Airlines always overbook because they know some people will cancel...

gah! I'm jealous. I can't wait to get back to Florida. out of all the states I've lived in, it's the one that feels most like home.

Haha
Don't worry about the first part. You don't have to justify to Nutangers why you're happy to be in Florida -_-

BUT I have been there six times for Nationals...but it's only been to Disneyworld, so I've never had the opporunity to see the rest of the state (and it's beaches...grrr). Lucky Stevo...exactly how warm and relaxing is the ocean down there?

Ugh, I hate bad plane rides. I sympathize. What pisses me off is when people take their effing babies onto an airplane. One of my teammates (who I was flying with) commented "Omg, I'm not taking my kids anywhere until they're 10." Nuff said!

I had no idea Firefox had spell check...

hmm.. I'm having this weird sensation that there used to be more to the comment that you left but now it's shortened some how. Because I remember that I was planning to say to you, "Why Middaymoon, you are a scientist and a metaphysician." Maybe I was dreaming. Well of course you still are a scientist, a philosopher, and a metaphysician in my opinion.

I was talking to my friend about whether or not it would be possible for people's souls to exist on another plane of being and to communicate with the body through some kind of receptor in the brain. My friend said that the scientist must immediate ask: "Where is the other plane located?" and "By what means do the soul and body communicate?" Because, he says, you can stick someone in a mine thousands of feet below the surface and enclose them in a lead box and they will still feel like they have a soul (at least perhaps, until they go crazy, which is an interesting remark). But what if the soul communicated in quantum fluctuations from another 'universe' in the vast multi-verse!

Trippy....

I'd love to give up my seat... they'd put me in first class the next time.

Oh boo, that spoils all the fun!
