What war did General Mills fight in anyway?
Sunday, Night
Have you ever gotten that feeling like the cereal companies are out to get you? Like they're just there to piss you off and manipulate you?

I have. I hate Cheerios, personally. I used to like them, back when they used to be regular Cheerios. But then, they suddenly changed into Cheerios that "help lower bad cholesterol." I never asked for my cholesterol to be lowered.

Deep inside, I know that they are the same Cheerios. But the fact that the label says they lower cholesterol just affects the way they taste, like they are low-cholesterol flavored.

This goes for the orange juice as well. I don't like Vitamin D flavored orange juice. It's too thick and seems to taste sweeter, even though it's just the same as it was before. Don't let the food industry ruin your life anymore. Next time a product tells you how much Zinc and Calcium it has in it, relocate that item to the vitamin and suppliment aisle. There, someone might give a shit.

damn those labels... messes with your mind
» dis1girl on 2004-05-16 08:56:44

Well, I'm not talking about vitamin enhanced.. I'm just talking about the things that suddenly seem to discover that like.. "Hey, Didja know our product is a good source of fiber? Like w0zerz."
» le_battement on 2004-05-16 09:05:43

gereal mills?
i believe he fights against obesity by enforcing american consumerism ..some how.. personally i have no problem with cheerios.. i do however have a long grudge against captain crunch. and that fucking tiger.. both of them should be killed in some tragic factory accident... anyway you should hear george carlins take on food and cereal
» monkeymeister on 2004-05-16 09:21:58

George Carlin is infesting your thoughts. He sounds like some kind of Hitler.
» le_battement on 2004-05-16 09:27:13

That looks a lot like
a conversation I had about honey-baked ham a few months ago... I think. I must say, though, that I never would have thought someone would cut and paste to save their keyboard from getting greasy.

Yes, I've done it often. It beats the hell out of typing with one hand.

Thanks for the totally random and irrelevant comment, buddy.
» le_battement on 2004-05-16 10:08:49

That is the way the cookie crumbles.
I certainly do not mind how the industry is going yet I do have suggestions of not telling me what the hell the stuff has. I only want it if it tasts good damnit.
» Orangepixistix on 2004-05-16 10:11:09

» JINX!!! on 2004-05-17 01:44:04

They've made new Frosted Flakes and Froot Loops with less sugar. Poor kids. They'll never know what a real sugar high feels like.
» sweetcupcake on 2004-05-17 09:09:01

Or cavities.
» sweetcupcake on 2004-05-17 09:09:11

Well, they could awalys still bust into the sugar factory like I did all those years ago.
» le_battement on 2004-05-18 06:00:31

the labels scare me... I remember I used to get Cheerios all the time and bug my parents to buy more because I would want to eat the strawberries inside. See? The picture messed with my mind! I was only 7 and thought that strawberries actually came with the cereal! Cereals are out to get us! beware! either that or I really am paranoid feeling that someone is behind me...following me...maybe someone selling cereal [looks behind] wait, a pillow's behind me! lol..
» Ajibalaji89 on 2004-05-20 06:31:01

You are screwed up, my friend. Pillows don't sell cereal. They sell cheap imitation leather wallets.
» le_battement on 2004-05-21 02:38:01

» monkeymeister on 2004-05-29 01:11:13

*poke*
» nonexistent on 2004-05-29 06:02:10

yeah... it's the orange juice with calcium that gets me. i mean, i think it must be curdeled cos i think of calcium as being related to milk, but the calcium is in the milk and in the oj (now) but the milk aint in the oj and the oj aint in my milk (yet, i'm sure they are working on orange-milk, we have chocolate, strawberry banana....) it's just the calcium. but the lumpy, curdled oj picture wont go away. *tear*
» painless on 2004-05-30 02:46:07

i just ignore the labels
unless I'm really bored... then I just don't really care, and am reading it just for the hey of it.

I hate orange juice anyways. And Cheerios are bland, unless you've got some banana on hand. hey, that rhymed! heh.

ttyl
» invisible on 2004-06-02 03:57:05

If you hate orange juice, then maybe you should reconsider coming to my page. >=

Heh, just kidding.
» le_battement on 2004-06-02 04:19:13

dave
thx
» ieatsharpobjects on 2004-06-02 04:37:01

hmm...
I don't mind comfort foods suddenly becoming 'healthy,' if only because that's the only thing keeping me from dying of a vitamin deficiency -- thank you, college dining hall. My biggest argument with the food industry is the unilateral replacement of cane sugar with corn syrup; they're not the same!! Oddly enough, soda isn't the same drink it was in the 50's (not that I would know from experience).
