Why is it...

that I leave 5 minutes earlier than I usually do, I end up getting to work 5 minutes late? That's so completely not fair!

Ugh...this morning, I really didn't want to wake up. It snowed a teeny bit on the way home last night, but nothing stuck around...but, where I was going with that was that it was cold! I bundled up under my covers and it was SOOO warm this morning, I just didn't want to get out of bed. Anyone else feel like that? I'm sure I'm not the only one...

Last night's class was extremely informative...it made sure to scare a few of the guys in the class. We watched a video of what happens when you go into labor (the majority of it was animated...but there were a few live births) and believe me, the girls are sitting there just watching and there were a few guys that were like "OH MY GOD!!! Is this where the guy passes out???" I think the videos (we watched 2...one with the animations of how the baby comes out...and one with actual women going through different stages of labor and how they were coping with it) were something that I needed to see. They truly showed that every single woman would go through something different. I think it may have given me the encouragement to at least try and see if I can do it without pain medication. Unfortunately, I have to have an IV regardless, so if I did decide to at some point feel that I needed an epidural, they could do so without any trouble. I have to have my IV when I first get to the hospital because I have Group B strep and I have to antibiotics every 4 hours to make sure that I do not pass it onto the baby. That regiment basically starts as soon as I get into the hospital, so lol...goody me! I was so afraid I wasn't going to be able to do as much moving around with having this IV, but I forgot they can cap IV's off and leave the catheter in there, so I think I'll be good to go.

Has anyone ever had an IV? I think the creepiest part about it is when they give you stuff in the IV and you can feel all the liquid going into your vein...and it's really cold. It creeps me out big time and it's not a real enjoyable feeling, but whatever it is they put in there...lol...it usually makes you feel a whole lot better. The one that I had had some muscles relaxers or something in it (when I had to have my MRI/CAT scan funness when they thought I had a stroke)...them putting the IV in was no fun, but ah...what a relief after the meds kicked in.

ANYWAY..today shall be eventful as there are many things to do! I should get started on them as we speak...

I've had IVs before and the spot I always prefer is the back of your hand. It doesn't really hurt unless you make weird moves or sudden moves. Otherwise it just kind of feels...weird. Yeah stuff going into your viens through it does feel weird as well. It's been a long time since I've had to remember all of those feelings... XD
