Talk about it. And I find that if you're both getting advice from older, more experienced people, it can be really helpful. Although you should be sure you're getting advice from people who have the same priorities as you both.

Depends on a lot of things, doesn't it? The distance, the level of connection, how flexible your life plan is... Would he be willing to relocate for you if it came to that? What's the level of commitment and willingness to compromise and work things out? Is there anything you have with him that nobody else could fulfill? I guess personally I would be pretty hesitant to attempt anything if we hadn't dated in person for awhile, but that's just me.
