Gay Marrige? In America?
Saturday. 5.17.08 3:29 am
Gay marrige was recently legalized in california....

SAD...

What's next people marrying animals? What is so wrong? Wrong with the simple notion of a family structure. A man providing for his wife and the wife caring for the children. A man and a woman that is what is natural. Sex is for reproduction and it only works with men and women. So how can a same sex marrige be recognized as equal to a normal marrige?

Beats me.

So as I watch TV which is rare. I hate TV mostly. But you see these commercials for nicotine gum and other quit smoking products. You also see these goody goody feel good ads saying to tell your kids about the dangers of smoking. Which is all well and good. Smoking is bad for your health.

Now let me ask this. Now movies and TV shows portray homosexuality as glamourous or at worst humorous and harmless. When all reality a homosexual lifestyle is dangerous and downright stressful.

Did you know according to the Australian Department of Health and Agriculture that 85% of all new AIDs victims are gay men.

32.7% of gay couples have abusive relationships

According to the Tennesee Dept Of health

Total New AIDs Cases in 2001 - 2006 = 20,289

Male + Male sex accounted for 9,968 of those.

Anyway that is some stats I don't feel like finding anymore right now. The Homosexual life style is not glamourous or harmless.

I am not a homophobic but I simply realize that homosexuality is a at least a unhealthy and miserable life style.

I am a christian and I would have to add the bible is clear that the homosexual lifestyle is sinful. No more sinful than a life of heterosexual fornification. So let me end this saying that homosexuality is bad for our society but God loves everyone. He loves you me and all the gay and lesbians. God sent his son to die for all our sins. Including homosexuality.

Yeah, this is why I'm not Christian anymore.

Finally!
THANK YOU!

I'm so tired of hearing "God hates fags" and stuff. Homosexuality isn't some horrible thing that God wants to destroy. I mean...it is, but it's no worse than normal lust, or pride, or anything. Gay and Lesbians are no worse, over all, than us.

Anyway, it's good to hear someone outside my church understands that.

I hope I am not the only one who sees the irony (and the tragedy) in the sentence: "I am not a homophobic but I simply realize that homosexuality is at least a unhealthy and miserable lifestyle" [sic]?

Ugh.

Also, you don't live in California, so it shouldn't matter to you what goes on here. It's not up to you what goes on in the world, and just because you think something is right doesn't make it right. YOU do not know everything there is to know, and you can be just as wrong as everyone else. If gay people want to get married, that's not your problem. They're not doing anything to you. Are they giving you AIDS? NO. So stop saying how tragic it is that people on the OTHER SIDE OF THE US can get married to the person they want.

Not every person in a same sex relationship gets abused. I notice you didn't give the stats for heterosexual relationship abuse. If you think about it, there are fewer homosexual couples, and therefore any abuse that goes on makes a bigger impact on the stats. There is abuse in male-female relationships too, or had you forgotten?

Your statement, "What's next people marrying animals?" is offensive in many ways. You're implying that homosexuals are not as human as heterosexuals. People are people. Would you say that black people, or asian people, can't get married to white people because it would be wrong? Homosexuality is not something people just decide to get into, they can't change it. And yet you're faulting them for wanting to be like other people, for wanting to have the same rights as other married couples.
When you say "I am not a homophobic but I simply realize that homosexuality is a at least a unhealthy and miserable life style," you are saying something you can't back up with evidence. You don't know what it's like to be homosexual, so how can you possibly say that you "realize" it's an "unhealthy and miserable lifestyle"? Just because you think it's bad doesn't mean it is. There are lots of gay people who are happy and in good relationships, it's people like you who stubbornly believe they know what's good for everyone else that create most of the problems facing the LGBT community.
And the AIDS issue. Male-male sex did not account for all, or even half, of the AIDS cases. What about the rest? Unless more than ten thousand straight people have been having sex with gay guys, they're probably getting it from each other. And they're more in numbers than the homosexuals. Think about that.
If more people would just accept the LGBT community, this kind of lifestyle would NOT be so "dangerous and downright stressful." It's people like you, oppressive and close-minded, who are making it hard for them. They're not doing anything to you, but you have to shake your heads and say "it's a downright shame, what the world is coming to." People probably said the same thing when all their slaves were released.
Movies and TV rarely portray ANYTHING the way it really is. Watch any movie about high school and you'd know that much. Those in the entertainment business exaggerate things, to, well, entertain. If people take things on TV shows seriously that's their problem. And if they portrayed homosexuality as harmful, they might as well portray heterosexuality as harmful, because plenty of abuse goes on there, too.
The main purpose of having sex is reproduction, I'll give you that. We don't really need that many more people though. Earth is already getting kinda crowded, in case you hadn't noticed. I'd rather have a gay couple who adopt their kids than a straight couple who have their own babies or contribute to the orphanages in our country. Let them do what they will if they're not bothering you. And I doubt they are. Unless a gay guy comes to your house and RAPES you, don't complain. Oh, and you forgot, people have sex even when they don't want kids. That's why there are condoms and birth control pills.
Homosexuality is NOT a sin. The Bible is an old book, and things were different when it was written. In older times there weren't as many people, and the goal was to survive and produce children. These days survival is hardly an issue unless you live in a third world country.
I try to accept everyone's beliefs as long as they don't affect others, but your views on this matter are discriminatory, offensive, and based almost completely on your religion.
Religion is one of the things the human race has developed to sustain its survival, but it's just a habit now. We don't NEED it anymore. Basically every religion is a set of rules for living, combined with stories to make it believable. A thousand years ago such rules would've been very important, because we wouldn't have had the same advantages we have now.
So think about this, Mr. High and Mighty, Knower of Right from Wrong. Your views are just some of many, but your kind of people seem to think they can dictate the way life should be lived because there are a lot of them. You think you can judge or "pity" people from your pedestal, but you're really down here on the ground with the rest of us, wrong just as often as any.

You're confused, and I'm sorry for that.

It's a myth that AIDS is a "gay disease." Perhaps a little more research on the subject would do you good.

And while it's great that you're a Christian, you sound pretty judgmental about homosexuality to me. And that's not Christian-like at all.

If you WEREN'T being judgmental you wouldn't claim that you know for fact that homosexuality is "bad for our society." Or that it's miserable and unhealthy.

I'm not going to call you ignorant, because then I'd be judging you. I will, however, say that it's clear that you're ignorant on the subject of homosexuality, gay-marriage and marriage in general. We live in a country where 50% percent of heterosexual marriages end in divorce and you're worried about gay marriage?

I'll assume you don't know any gay couples. If you did, you might change your tune a little bit.

I had a lot to say on this, but randomjunk said it all.
Let me just add though that gay guys make some of the best fashion designers in the world.
