I'm debating if I want to sponsor an Avatar Contest.

Make an avatar, submit it, everyone votes, winner gets some pps.
Maybe I can talk to dave and see if he can add the winner(s) to an avatar bank... if not, I've got my page.

I'm not sure how much the pps prizes will be, I'm thinking of having a 10pps entry fee per every few avatars submitted... In the end, it might be 15, but I think 10 for... a maximum of three is good. Maybe 2pps for each entry over 3, with a maximum of 5 total entries (14pps). The pps is only to offset the prizes.

I think the prize are going to start at 250 for first, 200 for 2nd, 150 for third... It may increase depending on how many people enter.

The avatars would have to be new (CharmingMan, you can't use AniJacko).

Leave a Yay/Nay, if you think it's a good idea.

The contest would be run in the forums.

I have mixed feelings about this contest. On one hand, I would love making an avatar, and I certainly have enough pps to enter. On the other hand, most of the people currently on this site are anime freaks, and so they would only want crappy anime avatars to win.

I feel an avatar is an expression of the real you. It would almost be as if you were judging someone on who they were.

I think it's a great idea, but I agree with randomjunk. There are too many anime lovers on Nutang. Also, most people don't know how to make an avatar.

To help sway the anime epidemic, perhaps one of the rules should be "no anime/movie/tv pictures in creation"... or something like that?
