As for your last entry, I don't think I usually love the person at first, but I always have to feel the *potential* to love them in order to be with them (aka, I have to be at least marginally attracted to them). It takes me a really long time to decide that I could potentially date someone, though, so I'm usually just friends with them until I decide either way, which could take 6 months- 1 year.
