I know exactly how you feel. And I screwed it up--badly--with him. And I wish I hadn't, but I did. And it was my fault. Completely my fault. Because I didn't reach out. Because I thought it "was too late."

But here's what I'm going to tell you--because I'm old, and I'm bitter, and I don't want the same to happen to you because it sucks. Are you ready?

It's only too late if you never tell him how you feel. Just do it. It's too easy to say that the timing isn't right; there are too many reasons to say "I'll do it later." But the longer you put it off, the harder it'll become.

I've put it off for four years. And if I ever want one of my best friends back, it'll be hard. Maybe too hard. Maybe impossible. Don't make that mistake.

If it's worth saving, then save it.

You should tell him, no matter how the situation is now. Maybe he feels the same way for you too. And stop evading him or he'll start to ignore you and you'll feel worst than how you feel right now.
