SOHH GRANT:Rasheeda Got Me Wanting Her Bubble Gum. Plus, D12 Signs Decatur Artist KB
    Wednesday. 2.7.07 12:19 pm

Renowned rapper RASHEEDA has been satisfying the musical palates of hip hop heads for several years now and the musical fruits that she bears just seem to get better with time. Her hip hop highness has been cranking out spitfire, take-no-prisoner rap songs since the early 90s, back when she was barely a teenager herself and most of her peers were just shunning their pigtails and bobby socks.

Since that time, shes not only ruled supreme over the Crunk Kingdom but she has also established herself as one of the sexiest women in hip hop, unafraid to cut to the chase in her music and say what every woman wants to say and every man wants to hear.

I’m not sure if I like the song or not, but Rasheeda looks so damn good, who the hell cares!

D12 member and former Celebrity Fit Club contestant— Bizarre opened up recently. In this interview he talks about his new album, his new record label. He just signed Decatur artist KB and is currently working on his album due out later this year. Though Bizz is from Detroit, he has roots in ATL.

If you’re interested, check it out.

Forget Black History Month….Let’s Talk About Southern History Month!!
    Tuesday. 2.6.07 8:25 am

With it being February, and our annual Black History month, lots of people are talking about and commemorating the same people we do every year.

But what I thought was, instead of celebrating the traditional black pioneers for the advancement of black people. I’ve decided to post non-traditional black pioneers who’ve advanced southern Hip-Hop as a whole. This weeks artists needs no introduction what so ever. But, for those of you who don’t know. Let me school you a bit!

Goodie Mob, who was based in Atlanta, Georgia, is widely measured as one of the founding hip hop acts of the Dirty South movement. Members Cee-Lo (Thomas Callaway), Khujo Goodie (Willie Knighton, Jr.), T-Mo Goodie (Robert Barnett), and Big Gipp (Cameron Gipp) made up the group, which started back 1995.

"GOODIE MOb", as it's written on all their album covers, stands for "GOOD DIE Mostly Over bullshit". Cee-Lo notes in a song off the Soul Food album that, "[If] you take out one 'O' it stands for 'GOD Is Every Man Of blackness.' "

Cee-Lo was the most visible member of the group prior to his departure in 2000,

An original member of the groundbreaking Atlanta group Goodie Mob, Cee-Lo is an Atlanta native that has had a successful career as rapper, singer, producer, and songwriter. Having worked on projects with everyone from Carlos Santana to The Pussycat Dolls, Cee-Lo hit it big again in 2006 while being part of Gnarls Barkley, collaboration with DJ Danger Mouse.

Cee-Lo has such a unique personality that he’s got several names he goes by. To many, he’s known as just Cee-Lo, but to his die hard fans, fellow industry associates, fans, and family—he goes by: Cee-Lo Green, Suga Baby, Eldorado Lo, Ralo Eight, Lorilla, Cee-Lo Sinatra, HenniCee-Lo, Car Belly, Lil' Buddah, and we cant forget the Cookie Monster.
I’m going to shout out the most prominent, and pioneering southern rapper(s) throughout this entire month, so be sure to show your luv!

    See Y'all lata,

SOHH GYANT LOVES HIM SOME BLACK WOMEN!!!
    Wednesday. 1.31.07 12:23 pm
Well me made it to that hump day, and as a present to all the fellas, and some ladies, I’ve decided to give you all a treat. Now it has nothing to do with Atlanta, or an Atlanta artist, but I do think that once you see this picture you really won’t care.

Want to see what I got for you?

    Continue on…

I don’t care what nobody says; Serena could most definitely get it. She is the ultimate example of what money, and a little bit of time can do for you. She got some Atlanta shawties beat, and y’all know I love me some Atlanta women.

I figured I would let all the news ride until lata on today. I just wanted to give you all a happy AM treat for the one and only Gyant.

    I hope you enjoy.

    SOHH GYANT ANSWERS YOUR COMMENTS!!!
    Thursday. 2.1.07 7:46 am
    What’s good Family?

It’s that time again. I got to address some ignorant ass mufuckas who seem to spend most of there day hating on what Sohh Atlanta is doing. Niccas like Zone 4, and Decman are my perder uno, and perder dos (its Spanish look it up) who claim to hate everything about Sohh Atlanta, which is essentially me, yet they stop by every day to drop off a daily dose of hate, and I personally LUV IT!!

Yesterday Decman had this to say:

aight bruh... how can i say this.. see, yo ideas is aight.. we aint got no problem wit yo ideas and such.. we got a problem wit you.. you see its nothin personal its jus da fact that you are 1. from outta town (which really aint a problem if you a real nigga) but, 2. you are a lame ass relocated college boy from outta town who dont uderstand southern culture, atlanta culture, or atlanta period both blogs today were safe blogs but bruh on some real shit you fucked up wit me when you came out yo mouth wit all this country mentality bullshit you was talkin earlier... which brings us to now only support you get is from outta towners... how long do you think this can go on.. like i said its nothin personal (you might actually be a cool dude.. i doubt it but anythings possible) but Atlanta is one place that you gotta adapt or... well keep on tryna do you and youll see i hope you can take this for what it is.. no hate.. jus an ATL analysis of the situation
Firstly Decman, please learn that the only way to effectively get your point across is to use properly structured sentences. Though I am aware that I am not the greatest writer on the planet, I know that when I address somebody or something and I misspell a word or use a word improperly that my overall message doesn’t matter.

Secondly, what does me not being born in Atlanta have to do with me reporting on Atlanta or not understanding the culture? Atlanta doesn’t have a culture! The websters dictionary defines culture as: a particular form or stage of civilization, as that of a certain nation or period: does that define Atlanta, No! Another definition for the word “culture” is the behaviors and beliefs characteristic of a particular social, ethnic, or age group. Does that define Atlanta, No! For as long as I have been in Atlanta I've never witnessed Atlanta culture. I see a black culture, a hip-hop culture, hell I’ll even give you a Southern Hip-Hop culture, but there is no Atlanta culture here. And FYI, what you and your homie’s deem as “Atlanta Culture” doesn’t speak for the entire population of this booming metropolitan.

You think talking about the jewel of the south everyday is easy? Because if you do then you haven’t a clue as to how hard it is to constantly provide my audience with Atlanta news/gossip/club events etc. Just because I don’t report on your news, doesn’t mean that I don’t do a DAMN good job. Who came up with “Atlanta’s Own”…Me! Who came up with “Poppin or Floppin Video of the Week”..that would be me again. And who is taking their time to address your bullshit ass comments when in actuality you’re contributing to the success of Sohh Atlanta more then you know, that’s me again. I have nothing to prove, I do what I do and do it the best I can. And I know for a fact that I’m doing it better then the person before me.

So why don’t you get on board and stop hating. This will be my last time I address anything you have to say. I’ve taken the time to address your issues, hate it or luv it, I’m not going anywhere!!!

Zone 4 had this to say:

your such a lame, I'll say it again, your blaring lamness is hard to read sometimes. you have no clue WTF is going on in this city

Zone, YOU don’t know what’s going in this city. SOHH.com and I have more contacts then you’ll ever have. Just because I don’t talk about what YOU want me to talk doesn’t mean that I don’t know anything about this city. “You are the weakest link..Goodbye”!!

On a positive note, military man Crapshoot made a good point that should be echoed.

I read the comments on here and I wonder if we, meaning "hiphop" will ever be able to come together on anything...this dude has posted links to 4 unsigned acts and all I've heard is disdain for this cat. Ain't nobody else doing that shit so why the hatred? I'm from South Cak and we ain't had nobody blow from there yet because we get overshadowed by ATL so we need this type of shit right here. Ya'll cats soundin' real self-destructive right now. In the words of Nas "WE DON'T NIGGAZ TO EVER WIN..." Forget the politics, let's just get money, and win.

Can Bow Wow Get Ciara Outta His System? Do We Care Even If He Cant??
    Monday. 2.5.07 6:54 pm

This might be the lamest story have I covered since my inception to Sohh Atlanta, but its being reported that Bow Wow is still mending from his breakup with Ciara.

Now before you all start in on me let me just explain my case. From day one, when news broke out about Ciara and Bow Wow "dating", I instantly broke out in laughter. Why anyone believed that the height challenged rap/pop act and the Amazonian crunk &B princess were actually a couple was beyond me. When ever I would see them together, all I saw was a walking publicity stunt. Missy Elliot and Ciara had more chemistry...(oops did I say that out loud)!

At first when Bow Wow dropped his latest album, it was common knowledge that any and all Ciara—relationship questions were completely off limits to us journalists. However, now in an effort to drum up significance over his fleeting new album The Price of Lame, Shad—AKA—Bow Wow has now decided to open up a little bit more about his now defunct relationship with Ciara and how their “break-up” has truly affected him. He recently told MTV News.

"It (his new song—“Outta My System”) deals with a situation I was in, for sure," he said. "It doesn't take a rocket scientist to listen to that song and know what I'm talking about or who I'm talking to. That's why I did it. That once again deals with the price of fame."

Could his sudden “openess” about CiCi be because his latest lyrical project is more floppin, and less poppin (do see how I worked that in?) The Price of Lame is currently # 54 after only 6 weeks on the charts. I just love how artists try and whore out their personal lives for CD sales. At this point I think its safe to say that we’ve all moved on haven’t we? Not that many of us really cared to begin with. It’s just buffoonery at its best.

Do you want to hear the song? Good, because it’s Sohh Gyant’s Download of the Day!

MEANWHILE CIARA IS SAID TO BE RIDING DIRTY WITH 50 CENT!
    http://blogs.sohh.com/soul/archives/2007/02/good_look_or_ho_2.html

This is an intresting video I found on youtube.com. I’m not sure what to think about it. While I think its pretty ingenious, it also looks like somebody has way to much time on their hands.

The streets is talking about Young Jeezy and Keisha Cole. Word is Y.J. popped the question to Keisha Cole recently and she happily accepted. Of course the "couple", who claim they arent even involved, have no comment on the rumors.

Those two kill me more then any other celebrity copule out there today. They aint no Bobby and Whitney! I mean at the end of the day who the hell cares what they're doing?!? We've all got our eyes fixed on T.I. and Tiny don't we?

Before I forget, make sure you check out Big Cat recording artist Young Snead and Yae High tomorrow, February 6th at the Griffin vs. Mt Zion football game.

    Talk y'all tommorrow,
