You haven't heard about jump rope for a while
Sunday. 6.22.08 1:32 am
My old coach sent me a graduation present . It was really special to me, because a part of me misses those days...she had a nice card, a traveler's guide to South Africa, and she even ordered me a copy of the Jump! documentary. *sigh*

I watched the documentary, and my girlfriend was laughing at me the whole time because apparently, throughout most of the movie, I was sitting there with a smile across my face. I'm sorry, I just got really excited that somebody finally made a good piece of media about my sport. No Disney, no stupid Myspace videos...and espeically none of that cursed Corbin Bleu. It had the people I knew and respected, the REALLY good ones that I actually admire in the jump rope community. It was awesome. Some of the stuff on there was a little outdated (they started filming in 2005), but I was elated nontheless

Speaking of jump rope, I leave for Nationals in 3 days...and the nerves are starting to set in. Along with the competition diet *bleh*. Why do I alway feel so unprepared? As it stands, there is a strong possibility of me making it to Finals in 6 events. Sweet

Muffy over and out!

Do not try to bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead, try to realize the truth. There is no spoon. Then you will see that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself.

that's really nice of her to send you those things. those are the things that make you realize just who cares and that they care more about you than you originally thought. don't be nervous, you'll be spectacular, like always.

re: ha, this is probably the biggest step I've made since running away from home when I was 18. which is probably what's causing me to be in so much shock.

Also, I think one of the things I have learned is that while I know I'm invariably going to want to die while trying to get all the work done that needs to be done to reach my goals, there is no way around it and the payoff is potentially much greater than the work input. And if that's the sort of thing that you think will make you happy in the end, then yeah--let's go for it!

One more thing...
I think feeling unprepared is a good thing sometimes. Sometimes we need that little bit of fear to do our best. And sometimes when we feel like we're uberprepared for something and we don't do as well as we had hoped, then the hole of disappointment we dig ourselves is much deeper than it would have been otherwise.

Yay, you can do it!

I just bought a jump rope the other day for exercise, thanks for reminding me. I can use it will I watch the Euro Cup!

Well that was nice of your old coach.

I gotta be honest, I didn't really try that much harder than I did last year. And last year I had a 2.9 for a while.... heh.

Dagmar was the name of the doctor in the movie Lars and the Real Girl. I just thought it was a neat name.

It is, technically, a girls name but really, who's going to know the difference? It's a Scandinavian name, and I don't know any Scandinavians.

I'm not a hardcore germaphobe, it's more that I obsess about stuff like that and don't forget.

Wow! Well good luck at nationals.

As for the shortening of my name, my real name has a lot of nicknames but I don't usually go by them. So... they gave me one.

Opps, forgot to reply.

Yes, I got it fixed. The volume was up too high and cause the static. It's all fixed now with no more static. ^.^
