So I worked out for about an hour and a half yesterday, watching a movie. It wasn't a good pump-up movie like Rocky. It wasn't even the Matrix. Hell, it wasn't even remotely masculine. No...I watched 13 Going on 30.
There's something about that movie that just stikes a chord with me. No, I'm not a thirteen year-old girl who magically fast-forwards her life and discovers who she'll be in the future....it's the underlying stuff, like the little kid in all of us. I know there's a little kid in me. The whole idea of growing up has been incredibly relevant in my life lately, and it's really scary. Who am I going to be when I'm older? Hell I don't know...I just know that there aren't any do-overs, there isn't a way to go back and fix those stupid mistakes. FIX THEM NOW.
I don't know what it is with that movie...I just love it. And it has Vienna (Billy Joel) on the soundtrack and that makes it about fifty times better. If that scene wasn't in the movie I don't think I'd be sitting here blathering on like I'm doing now (bwahah I'm actually listening to it on my iPod as we speak...it's something of an inspiration).
I'm just feeling overly sentimental today. It sounds really nerdy, but I keep a do-now list in my documents, and at the end of every day I've started to put down something that's made me happy. Some of it's stupid, little things like "dinner was really good," but in the end it reminds you what you haveh to be thankful for. If you don't remember what makes you happy in life, what's the point of living?
P.S. Got accepted to the UW today I am on a fucking roll, people
Do not try to bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead, try to realize the truth. There is no spoon. Then you will see that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself.
Congrats on the acceptance into UW!! For some reason, I never finished watching that movie. Nothing wrong with feeling overly sentimental and really nerdy, guys are not robots.

I've actually never seen that movie. I had intentions on doing so, but it just hasn't happened. maybe one of these days I'll see it.
re: I work at Big Lots. I'd probably get paid more if I worked at Target, but not by much. also, I'd rather have less to be responsible for and Target is a much bigger store. haha, I know how addicting NuTang is. more often than not, I put off going to bed just to see the end of an on-going convo in the SB or see if anyone updates anything.

I haven't ever seen that, but I always got the impression that it was a chick flick. Hence my never-watching-it. :P

CONGRATS on your acceptance @ UW!
Some movies I like to watch, I only like to watch them because of something seemingly silly like a scene that I really really like, or something. Usually with those movies, I watch it for the parts I like, and sometimes fast-forward to my favorite scenes. (i/e, I do that all the time when I watch "Labyrinth". I skip most everything, usually, to get to the "masquerade" scene and the "Escher" scene. The only parts of the movie really worth watching. ha)

What are "flees"? You mean fleas?
And NO I do not have fleas! I tried putting some of my brother's "cleansing gel" stuff on my arms and I think I had an allergic reaction to it...

Alas, I did not get to see your response, as I have been out with my friends, doing non-internet things. :)
