In your face
Saturday. 2.9.08 3:24 pm
Oh. My. God. I ask my dad if I can go over to Brittany's house and he launches into a 2-hour tirade about how I haven't been keeping up on scholarships, how I don't have a plan, how I fail at this, and that, and the othe thing, and on and on and fucking on.

After staring intently on a spot on his forehead for a good five minutes, the rest of my vision began to fuzz out, and I discovered that if I crossed my eyes in a certain way, his entire body would disappear! I was very proud of my achievement, and began to contemplate how I would smash this annoying, talking head into the wall behind it.

Long story short: WASTE OF 2 HOURS. Fuck.

Ironically, after he finished his ranting, I got a letter in the mail from Elder & Leemaur Publishers that an essay I had submitted to them was being published in a book called "Authors of Tomrrow," and that my piece was currently being reviewed for scholarship moola.

In yo face, father

Do not try to bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead, try to realize the truth. There is no spoon. Then you will see that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself.

Nice. Hope you get the money, then.

damn, what do you think caused your father to bitch like that? and how long do you think he's been bottling it up for his tirade to take two hours to get over with? hope you get the scholarship!

I love those moments. Just remember, you get to select the nursing home. And the casket.

RE:...I'm not very close to my German heritage as I really want to be. There are some people in my family that would actually speak German all the time (but it wasn't my immediate family)...and they're all dead right now...I tried taking German in college since they didn't offer it in my high school and I struggled. I wish I would have paid more attention. If it was the only class I was taking and the only thing for me to focus on, I probably would have excelled.

My mom does that.
You know what? I'll blog about it.

i want to read your article!

ooh right .. u don't know my history yet. nz is my second home coz i used to study there for 3 years. and my frien who i bumped is also a malaysian but she's now working in nz for good. oh well if u wanna ask why she or we didn't keep in touch and then somehow bump into each other out of all places... is i don't know why people keep on expecting u to keep in touch with them and even if u email them ... they don't bother to reply u and then they will ask around if i'm still alive...

my hair cut is ok with me though i would like to have a better hairstyle since i think i have a hairstyle like this before... next time i'm going to cut out a pic for the hairdresser to see... i don't really bitch how i dislike the haircut because if i did... i would bitch to the hairdresser until he gives me free of charge. some hairdressers of mine r really terrified of me because i certainly don't give face and i would criticize the work if i'm not happy with it.

but i got 50% off for the haircut and I just paid 27.50 at a highclass hair saloon... i'm not losing anything afterall. ah... i'm going to get some highlight at another hair saloon for 40%... hahahahaha... oh another thing u don't know about me is i'm a freeloader.

I would've done it eventually.
I just didn't feel like typing all that into a comment. Heheh.

Yeah, my parents are like that too, but usually when I ask to go out they tell me that I never do anything at home and I should help around the house, blah blah blah. I'm almost 21 and they're still like that with me.. but it's the price I have to pay when I choose to live at home.

On the other hand I used to be on the computer a lot, but eventually it just got old. I'm pretty surprised that I can go without the internet for weeks. I remember when I couldn't live without it for a day. Haha..

I find it is incredibly useful to have a barrage of bull-shit answers prepared in advance, because the type of people that ask you that question really don't care, they're just making conversation. The key is to be specific.

My favorite ones to use right now are: "I'm going to take some time to travel in Europe and North Africa to solidify my French language skills and gain a little life experience. Then I plan to apply to Columbia's Masters program in International Affairs for the Winter."

and

"I'm planning on moving to New York in September or October so that I can be closer to the political action and experience the wonders of America's largest city."

holy cow!
Maybe he was trying to do some kind of magic spell that took two hours to take effect.

Or maybe it's just the powers of coincidence that you got that letter in the mail.
bwahahahahah
