Hurricane look-alike
Saturday. 12.16.06 11:33 pm
And here I was thinking that hurricanes didn't occur in the Northwest...I was wrong! Ok so not really, but we had the biggest wind storm I can remember. Ever. Let's just run down the list real quick:

-My neighbor's chimney got blown off
-Enormous trees uprooted, and taking parts of the ground with them
-I was out of power for 2 days...others for up to a week
-Parts of our neighbor's roof in the backyard
-a pitch black city

It was intense, that's all I gotta say. Which might also be the reason why I haven't been around Nutang much...no power :-\ Well we just got it back a few hours ago, and I'm slightly disappointed...I didn't want to go to school lol. Oh well, I don't really know how extensive the damage is elsewhere, although I hear that Oregon and the Washington coast got it ever worse. It's terrible, I never thought such a huge storm could blow through here like that. Usually it's just rain -_-

Yup that was a pretty lame entry, heh sorry I just need to e-mail some people and get homework done and all that good stuff just in case there really is school on Monday. I'll comment later, promise!

Do not try to bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead, try to realize the truth. There is no spoon. Then you will see that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself.

hehe
I was there for the big windstorm back on Inauguration Day 1993 and believe me, I remember it. The power was out for 2 weeks! Our fireplace didn't work correctly (instead of putting the smoke outside, it would funnel it back inside) so we were huddled in the basement in the dark. We couldn't take a shower, we couldn't really cook all that much, everything sucked...we didn't have school...my parents were still working, so my brother and I had to entertain ourselves in the dark. Finally, my mom was like...this is stupid...and she sent us down to Puyallup to stay with my grandma. The stupidest thing about our house is that it's connected to some transformer on a differernt street so everyone in the cul-de-sac got their power on and we were still in the dark for more than 4 days after that. My parents were pissed...

But yeah, I heard this storm was worse than that one. I believe it. I think they've improved a little bit with PSE (Puget Sound Energy), but seriously...why should it take more than a week to restore power to everyone? That's a little ridiculous, even now!!

oo dangerous up in the northwest!! lol. the wonders of mother nature.. nothing ever happens in san diego. it rained all weekend & now it's all sunny.

AP classes are weighted. So if you get an A in an AP class, it counts as 5 points, instead of 4. The highest I could get this year is a 4.5. *crosses fingers*

Nah that wasn't me. I take most of my pictures myself, and we don't really have any places like that around here.

that is the way i felt when my town was hit by hurricane hugo. we were without power for 2 weeks. i was in college and several trees on campus that were a hundred years old and older were completely uprooted. was so weird.
