I have a performance tomorrow. And none of the other dancers are willing to come help me out. So, yes, I'm flying solo.

The whole thing is basically split between two groups so...there'll be a bit of improv. on my part. Add this, change that, move more, and MAKE SURE NOT TO SCREW UP!

The executive director of my dance school and the DCNY dance company is coming. One of their professional dancers is coming--he's from China and a terrfic artist (acrobatics and peking opera, too) and he can FLY! His wife is coming as well--also a dancer and has an acrobatic specailty (plates+long rods=spinning in the air). She may perform, too...not sure.

Yes, the topic of today's piece will be the ever confounding ICE.

This curious development of the water element was seen on my way to ISSAC, a place where a few friends volunteer on Sundays.

They had first met their 'manager/superviser' through me; I had invited them to participate in some volunteering event or other. The man was to watch over the office upstairs while the others went about the streets on business. We met, introductions made, and got along. He asked us to help out some days, we agreed. I could only help out for about two weeks before my teaching sessions started for the year.

Anywayz, they've been helping out since. Okay, there was a period of six weeks or so that they didn't go, but...=P Soo, I was going for a visit after my meeting. I wasn't sure if I remembered where it was, but I got there soon enough. I climbed the stairs and walked quickly through the place until I reached his office. Instead of the two/three teenage girls I expected, he was the only one inside the door! >.< I scurried past the door and deciding they weren't there after all, turned around and ran past the door again. I made my way down the stairs and out the door as quickly as possible. I did not want to see him. Or him to see me. >.>'' Heh.

They weren't there!! >=[ Arrrgh. That was when I saw The Ice. A curious looking brown mound on the ground with crystallized edges. It's cooold these days so when I bundle up, I unvariably start walking with my head bent towards the floor. I saw the mound and yet continued to walk until my foot landed right on top of it.
And I slipped.

Wheeeeeeeeeee! Eeeeeeeeeee!

It was a puddle(if that's the right word for it) of some sort of frozen drink. Coffee, perhaps, or tea w/ milk. Whatever it was, it made me curse for the first time today! *gasp* 0.0 *faint* Ah, nevermind. Let me dust myself off before continuing. *pat pat*

Merry Christmas!

This layout was specially made for this wonderful spirit-ful winter holiday. Now that it is officially over, the echoes of carols and wishes for snow still linger in the air. So...it will be up until the night before January! Yay! *clapclapclap, bow*

I have another layout in mind--for winter and all of it's crisp cold still-life to death beauty. However! There's a teensy-weensy problem...it wasn't made for NuTang. It is one of the most important things to me.

I think it was because
once upon a time
I experienced starvation.

Not having food to eat
counting nickels, dimes, and pennies
figuring out if I have enough
trying to stretch out food to last.

And I think this is what they mean
once you experience something like this
you just don't want to experience it again.

I think you guys remember this time.

I wasn't particularly obvious about it
but it was there

allude to my lack of food.

I just watched the trailer for Disney's Ice Princess--you know, the one with Buffy's little sister, Dawn? Michelle Trachtneburg is her name, I believe. It's not bad considering she can actually skate. I wonder if they used doubles for all those triples and so on...

If I ever actually watch it, it'll be because ^1. it's about ice-skating and ^2. Michelle Kwan is in there! XD

Yes, I love her and I'm bummed that she won't be skating anymore. =/ I can't believe they made her talk about the Olympics in that movie when she'll never be in it again. Meanies! *sigh* It was so much fun to scream insults at her competitors and laugh hysterically when they fell. Hehehe...

Now the theme song 'Reach' is stuck in my head.

Boy, did I hang out a lot this weekend! I'm starting to feel more like the young 20-something-year-old I am. No more boring domestic life that makes me feel like a housewife with the urge lash out at the unfairness of it all. I had friends come over consecutive days starting Friday night and we'd partaaay till the wee hours of 2 or 3am. My friends know by now that's how late they will leave when they come over. The night is not over until we start shushing each other at 1am and continue to pay no heed of the time for another hour longer.

On a completely separate matter altogether, are we ever going to get a mobile app for this site? Or at least a mobile friendly version website? My boyfriend has been pointing out books on app development for dummies for a while now. It would be interesting to try it out.

However, that means I really need to get my shit together if I want to be doing side projects. I've already started working on a Radionomy radio for ABC's. That is American Born Chinese which merely alludes to those of us of Chinese descent to happen to listen to more than just English or American songs. Don't worry I'm not a crazed Kpop fan.

Gotta get back to my schoolwork now.
