MayWill not change often.
Foreign Exchange!
Thursday. 6.29.06 12:14 am
Well, I'm here in Japan, I got out of school a couple of hours ago, so I decided to head over to Nutang and post an entry about it. I can't believe how much nutang has changed over the past few months though! It's really crazy! I wonder why an invite system was implemented... I'll have to go look in the news :D Japan is great! I'm really liking it here, but it's really humid so much so that the 85 degree weather seems like really hot instead of only warm... oh well, it's still great here! I have to make this short, so I'll chat later!

Futon ga, Futtonda
Wednesday. 7.5.06 8:04 am
[I just realized, I like to blog in reverse chronological order, so please take note in that while reading this...]
Well, the title of this entry (Futon ga, Futtonda) is apparently a very funny joke here in Okinawa. I have no idea how it is funny because it was described to me as "the covers are flying." I was assured that it was not a dirty joke if anyone is wondering. I ate shoyu ramen tonight at a ramen shop. It was really good, plus I had some type of rice, I can't remember what it is called, but it was really good. I talked to my host mom in Japanese a little during supper, I just learned those parts today. She's the one who told me that the joke was not a dirty joke. After school I studied Japanese with my bud Hajime and we talked about how I was enjoying life in Okinawa, I also taught him a little English. During school I mainly just studied Japanese, I wrote a lot of Japanese, and it turns out that doing so helps me to remember words better, so I will continue doing that until I find I can no longer write Japanese words (i.e. there are no more words in Japanese)
I ate sandwiches at lunch today, a peanut butter and orange jelly sandwich, and a peanut butter and chocolate jelly sandwich. Personally I preferred the peanut butter and orange jelly sandwiches. (On a bit of a side note, in Japan, apparently bread is only eaten at breakfast. Most people would not consider having a sandwich for lunch!) I woke up at 6:40 this morning, 20 minutes later than I normally do, it was really strange, because I woke up, and had a hamburger with lettuce from McDonalds. I've never eaten a hamburger for breakfast, it was a very new experience. Well, that is about all I can think about to write about. I'll write more later. Jaa ne!

Sorry about the delay!
Sunday. 7.2.06 4:49 am
Sorry about the delay, I've been doing a lot of sight-seeing lately! It's great here in Okinawa! I went on a Monorail today to Naha airport, it was really nice. I stayed at the airport for a while, just taking in the sights and people and everything about the place that I could see. I went shopping on Kokusai-dori (International Street) It was really nice there, I could not believe the amount of shops and things they had there. Yesterday I swam in the ocean and ate taco-rice from a stand near the beach, that was pretty interesting, it is exactly what it sounds like, taco meat with lettuce and tomatoes, on top of rice. I went to Okinawa World also, it was really cool, I watched eisa being performed, that was so COOL! I've never been so entranced by anything before! Eisa is a traditional Okinawan dance with drums and dancers. (Go here for a better description!) Before yesterday, all I've been doing is going to school everyday. School here is so different! The students for the most part stay in one class all day and the teachers move rooms. I don't know enough written Japanese to pass in anything so I mainly just practice writing kanji over and over again and I read a book on how to speak Japanese. Well, I can't use my host families computer for very long, so I've got to finish this up! I'll try to update again soon and get some pictures put into my gallery! Laters!

I'll think of a title later
Saturday. 8.4.07 3:26 pm
Yeah, I'm not quite sure what to write about. I'm just standing here writing about whatever comes to mind. I had my infected ingrown toenail removed the other day. I'm glad thats all over, it really hurt. I'm about to go eat some food I think. I finally got my Japanese lessons from the library the other day. I'll have to get some time to listen to them though. I'm still planning on going back to Japan, so I've gotta learn to speak sometime. Well, I've only got like 10 more minutes on break, so I'm going to go. Whoa, I just went back a page on accident, I'm so happy I didn't lose everything I typed.
