Although today's hike/climb was a definite good one, I am paying the price. I can understand my face and legs being burned like they are because I didn't put any cun block on them. My face I avoided because I don't like the slimey feeling it gives me. And my legs I just didn't think about putting any on. My arms and shoulders, however, should not be burned just as badly, yet they are. I put frickin SPF 50 on my shoulders, chest and arms and they're still burned just as much as the parts that I didn't put anything on. It doesn't make sense. Next time I go out there, I'm either going to have to seriously layer that stuff on or I'm going to have to purchase SPF 100 or something. It's absolutely ridiculous that I'm so white even using decently strong sun block doesn't work.

Needless to say I'll be applying quite a bit of Aloe Vera over the next few days, at least. And I'll be doing my best to avoid the sun and heat unless absolutely necessary.

I also had a little mishap on the side of the mountain today. I guess I got my legs a little too far apart and when I went to move again, I slipped on some loose rocks and fell flat on my stomach. My hand happened to land on a cactus though. Just a small one, but about 10 prickers came out in my hand when I managed to get back up. One particular one went completely through the small web of skin between my middle and ring fingers. It'll probably bruise. You can still see some of the spots where I was punctured. My hand will probably be sore for a couple days, but then I should be fine.

Alrighty, I just wanted to write about the fact that I'm so white SPF 50 doesn't work on my skin. And my falling mishap. I'm not sure when I'll write again. Hopefully soon. Everyone have a safe Fourth of July!!!

My hubby put spf 100 on when he goes to the beach and that stuff does nothing for him. I'm thinking about getting baby sunblock. If it'll keep a fragile baby from burning, maybe it'll him him from burning too lol

How often did you reapply the sunblock? Just wondering, because SPF 50 already blocks over 95% of the rays...SPF 100 isn't even worth the cost, in actuality, it's just something the sunblock companies make to rip people off. They say you should reapply any sunblock extremely often to see any sort of results, and that nothing beats staying covered. :]
