Yesterday was soooo fun!

Mood: Happy

I shot a bow for the first time yesterday!!! I've always wanted to try it! It turns out that I'm pretty good at it and picked it up quickly! I had to use the kid bows because I couldn't pull back the adult ones. ^^! We're going to buy an archery set.
After that, we went canoeing in the lake. ^.^ I made Joel do it because he promised to take me on a boat ride this past Easter. He didn't want to, but he did! I love him.

I might go shopping with my sister today. That all depends if she's free. Joel doesn't want to take me because Labor Day shopping is crazy. Labor Day sales = tons of people. I don't mind it, though.

There's a Christmas audition coming up on September 23 and October 5 for the Circle of Lights. I think the event takes place on November 24. It's a tradtional live show that my city hosts every year. Performers sing and dance, then at the end, they light up Monument Circle. They show it on tv and people from all over the state go to see it. Here's what it looks like. This pic was taken right after it was lit, hence the fireworks. They do this every year to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season.

If I pass the audition, I'll get to sing there! =D I tried about three years ago and I didn't pass. xp I think I'm more confident now. They're really picky. My friend, who is a really good country singer, audtioned for it six years ago and she didn't even pass! It's a hard thing to get into, but it's still really fun to audition.

I guess that's all for now. Happy Labor Day!

I love jewelry too but I prefer bracelets. I tend to forget to put on/take off necklaces. Especially when I go in the shower.

I'm a user at Gaia too but I don't really look at the jewelry much. I did buy a "diamond" bracelet a few years ago, though.

I don't think I've shot a bow before and I might not want to try because I can be a bit of a clumsy person. I've never tried canoeing either but I have tried river rafting.

I didn't really think about tons of people at labor day sales. It just hasn't really occured to me until I read it in your entry. I don't know why though. Usually that's the second thing that comes to mind whenever I think "sale".

What songs do you get to sing at the celebration? I hope you pass the audition!

I've never been to the actual Gaia store before. The picture for the winged wristbands wouldn't load for me.. :( But the kitty plushies are so cute! I'd fill my room with them if I could.

That's okay. I'll try refreshing a bit.

I wish that there was that type of celebration where I live. But the only celebration thing that it done is for the 4th of July and I think there's a parade for Christmas. I'm not sure about that though.

Ohh! Archery! =D Aww, I wish I could give it a 'shot', too.

Circle of lights! Fireworks and a 'tree' of lights! Though nothing like our crowded New Years. XP

Good Luck! Falalalala-la-la-la-laa! ^0^

I had a toy bow before, I could barely shoot it but I got the hang of it after a few days of practice >.

that circle of lights thing looks amazing. it looks like it would be hard to get into, but it looks worth it as well. good luck, by the way!

» hikarixgaki on 2006-09-04 05:02:49

Thanks.
I love your layout, too. I've also always wanted to try archery. And sales are just overall joy. So it seems your day was a good one. ^^

Good luck on your auditions!!
