Poop on a stick!
Poop on a stick I say! Well it's coming close to when my boyfriend and I will get married. We're very unconventional so this didn't surprise my mom. Then again I've mentioned it a few times before. We also will not be having the reception now. We're going to wait until next spring so my favorite Aunt can come. I can't imagine holding the reception without her. While we haven't always seen eye to eye who does? We aren't inviting anyone except my mom to the wedding. I would invite my boyfriend's mom, but we both know then she'll start telling us we need to invite his brothers and father and blah blah blah. Since we don't want to have to deal with that we're just not going to tell her. It's her fault for being so pushing and manipulative and she brings it all on herself really.
I found out the ins and outs for what needs to be done. After speaking with Matt we'll probably just get married in court instead of finding a priest. I don't care either way. For the first 7 years I fought with my boyfriend on him "having" to wear a wedding ring. I quit bugging him about it for the last year. He doesn't like jewelry and didn't want to wear a ring. Yesterday I tell him that I do not care if he wears one or not. It's completely up to him. To my surprise he said that he'd wear one. When I questioned why when for years he said no he said he wanted to. It took him a while, but he found a ring he liked. It's Black Titanium with a white gold stripe down the middle. It looks very nice. I searched high and low only to find out that Titanium melts at such a high temperature that no one except those able to manufacture Titanium rings can alter it. Since we can't have it altered or custom made I told him to just buy it online tonight. Today after work I'm going to a jewelry store, one of the couple that have actually heard of black gold to see if they can make something for me.
I doubt it will be a "one of a kind" since it's probably been done before, but "eh". I don't want to buy something that someone can pick out of a catalog. Don't get me wrong. That's fine for some people. I hope they like their ring. To me it needs to be more. When I get the ring I'll take a picture and post it for you guys to see. It won't be anything fancy since we can't afford anything really nice or anything, but it will be unique and special to me. It's just poop on a stick that I can't get my band part of the ring in black Titanium and white gold like my boyfriend's ring.
Black gold? I guess I haven't heard of that before. I'd be interested in seeing what it looks like. Can't wait until you post a picture.
