Frustrated.
I wanted to blog about something different, but I am frustrated. I am a bit pissy. I can't wait until I get off work in an hour and 30 minutes. I'm not sure if it's because I expect too much from the new receptionist when I spoke to her on the first day or what, but I am far from impressed.
Here's an example of why. It takes a while for a company that I deal with for the info I need to get to me. It's usually a week or more before I get it for who knows what reason so when it comes I am always on the look out for it. I handle the commissions so while handling the mail can be a hard or confusing task it is not for my dept. If you see the words commission, concession or compensation it's mine. Period. Ok there are SOME exceptions, but I refuse to tell any of the temps what they are until we can get one to last at least 3 months.
Any ways, when I come back from lunch there's what I've been waiting for. It was put in the scanning pile that a co-worker go through when she has time, which isn't always every day. I ask the new receptionist what made her put it back there. First it's questioning if she even is the one who put it back there. Well yes it is, I wouldn't have been asking if it wasn't. Then it's her needing to look on her sheet. Ok we gave her the ground rules and not once does it say anything about commission info going in the back. In fact it says everything goes to me. Then it's oh since it's X company it should go to Y person. If she had given it to Y then it would have gotten to me, not to the scanning pile. /starts to get a small headache She took something that was concerning another employee and the mail he gets and twisted it in something completely different. She did this with a phone call that came in today as well, among other phone call problems that I won't go into since it will add another 3-4 paragraphs of ranting.
When you screwed up take fault. Say, "Oh I put it back there? I'm sorry I must have put it in the wrong pile." Don't flip-flop all over the place. Say you're sorry for screwing up which can cost people their lively hood for a week. You may think a week isn't that long, but when you're expecting X amount of money to hit your account yeah 7 more days can really suck. You're counting on that money. This isn't the first time either. It's like she just doesn't get it. I tell her the three words to look for and she just doesn't get it. Sure it's been 4 days, but even the previous girl understood it after the 2nd day. I'm starting to see bad habits I keep having to tell her about. It's frustrating me to no end. The receptionist position REALLY shouldn't be THIS hard to fill!
Oh yeah picking out glasses tonight with my boyfriend. I'd say I'd post a picture, but I suck at pictures. Maybe I'll just take a picture of the frames that I decide on when I get them. I'll always wear contacts, but this is so I can start getting used to glasses. I want laser surgery and you have to wear glasses and not contacts to get it. It takes me a long time to get used to extra weight, which is why I can't get used to make-up, watches, etc. It makes that part of my body feel heavy.
I've never been a contacts type of person. I've always worn glasses. Well before I couldn't afford them, but now I don't mind wearing glasses. I'd love to get laser surgery though and be done with the whole thing. Maybe one day.

What? You need to be wearing glasses to get laser surgery? Just when I had decided to start wearing my contacts more regularly. *groan* I hate it when simple jobs can't be done. It could be easily done myself, but it's not my job! I don't want to. Jeez. Get some common sense, people. >.>

My my, if you're new and you made a mistake, I'm sure no one would blow their top on you but if you try to act as if you're smarter, then you're playing with fire. I think you would have to start finding one to replace her. Hope she won't give you a migrain or something in the future.
I'm neither one of the two types but I'm forced to wear glasses since my vision is getting blur but I only wear them in front of the computer cause I think the computer's the main reason why I need to get glasses in the first place.
I would fly halfway across the world to attend your wedding if I could. It'll be a nice experience and I bet it'll be fun.
