Ok... I guess what i don't understand soccer is why it's so appealing to so many people in so many countries and why fans are so intense about it... NASCAR fans are a pretty devoted bunch... but i can't recall ever in the history of NASCAR that there's ever been a riot over it. Sure.. you get a bunch of drunk rowdy rednecks trapped in a giant oval for a weekend and sure.. there's gonna be fighting... but nothing that's ever compared to the spectacular rioting that you see around the occasional soccer game. The attention that everyone gives to the World Cup is just astounding to me...
Maybe it's that i just don't get those stick and ball sports.. and that is true of American football as well as basketball and baseball. Maybe I'm just one of them people that need a more cerebral challenge... i dunno... I just don't understand the manic intensity surrounding the game....

lol I guess its just a magic there that only sum people can get, and others, just can't.. particularly a lot of americians....

i suppose it's like NASCAR....
some people get it.. some people don't... I prefer a sport requiring mechanical skill in addition to athletic ability
