watching: NASCAR Raceday- Talladega

OK... for those of you who don't know anything about NASCAR racing... today is the best race of the spring and summer... Talladega Superspeedway is..without a doubt... the best track in NASCAR history... not quite as prestigious as Daytona ... or The Brickyard (Indianapolis) but by far it's the fastest, most exciting racing ever... to see these cars merely inches apart going 4 wide INTO THE CORNER.... well... it's breathtaking... literally. Then... there's "The Big One". (See Pictures Below) The wreck that takes out 10, 15 and even as many as 25 cars... (It happened last year.. 25 cars out in one big kaboom just because one guy got the shimmywiggles going into the tri-oval... It was pretty spectacular to watch..) The Big One happens usually because of the high banking... someone goes up into the outside wall then comes down across the huge pack of cars... taking out many more cars in the process as he tries to get down to the apron to get down pit road. The track is wide.... but not wide enough to avoid something like that... On occasion ( like last night's Busch race) someone gets turned on their lid.. which can have some pretty disastrous results.... thankfully.. in the Busch race.. Tony was ok... Elliott Sadler has the hardest time of anyone keeping the dirty side down... two fall races in a row....( they race again here in October) he managed to get flipped on the last lap...





This is what "The Big One" looks like... 25 cars were taken out in this wreck. As you can see... it really does get kinda intense!! It get's pretty exciting to watch the 'Dega races.. I can be found anywhere from sitting comfortably in my chair.. to hanging from the ceiling fan screaming at the TV...
