Paws Up!
Friday. 2.11.11 11:41 am
so, had my first day subbing.
I was NOT born to be a teacher.

Those women have their classes under control! I walked in and it spun out of control into chaos.

Miss! Jimmy hit me!
Miss Kristina! He's not supposed to do that till after lunch!
Miss! Where's our real teacher?
Miss! Do you wanna touch our pet spider?
Miss Kristina! Your last name is funny!

*sigh* the last bell of the day was a relief. But, it's not all bad. It's about half and half right now.
Though, I will be pleasantly surprised and particularly elated if I land the job that i'm interviewing for on Monday. It's for an office assistant at an Elem. school on the north side of Fort Worth. Here's to hoping and wishing and praying!

I use the exclamation mark WAY too often. But, it's how I talk...not so much yelling but alot of my sentences end up getting louder at the end. Aldo is constantly telling me "I'm right here...there's no need to yell". I just don't realize i'm doing it. *shrug*

Other than that, life is floating along. A bit tight on cash, but when hasn't that been a problem, eh? At least Valentine's Day is coming up. Cards have been sent, and the gifts I ordered should be coming in today. This is gonna be fun!

Book club is also doing REALLY well. I have to admit it was one of Aldo's BEST ideas. :) This Sunday we're meeting at The Love Shack, an outdoor bar/grill/hamburger place where we will be discussing our latest book "The Dispossesed" by Urssula K Le Guin. It's been slow going... I mean, it's a good book and has a fair amount of thinking involved. In fact, Zanzibar - you might REALLY enjoy this book. Aldo has been totally in love with it, but it's been a sort of forced reading until the last 3ish chapters for myself. I don't mind if it's a heavy handed book, but I (personally) just need a set story line to propell myself along the literary waters. I can't read biographies and I can't read technical or political books for this reason. I mean, I CAN it's just not my first pick of the day. That's all. Since book club is meeting at the Love Shack day before V-Day, I think i'm going to make cupcakes. Red Velvet cupcakes, cause....those are awesome.

BTW: highly recommending the show Cupcake Wars to everyone at Nutang. It's awesome.

Oooh, I will add it to my reading list. I bet subbing will get better. My lil' sis is teaching English to little kids in Korea, and according to my mom, she now has awesome classroom control, even though she only started teaching last June. It's hard when you're a sub because you're not the real teacher, but I think it does get better over time. Good luck on getting your job!!!

Oh, I still am going to write you back from your note! :D

I made some cupcakes for V-Day, they will be sooOOooOoo delicious.
