I was going to write a blog about the upcoming elections and ask lots of questions that I find pertinent to the current campaigns. However, I'm too fucking burned out on the entire thing to sit here (at work, eek) and go on a rant about the relevance of some dumb woman's wardrobe costs or whether or not Barack Obama is really friends with a "terrorist."

Let's move on to Halloween. I was once told Halloween was Satan's birthday. What a laugh.

What are you going to dress up as? Are you going to gorge yourself on candy? Or (like me) beer? Are you anti-Halloween? Why is that?

THESE are the important questions! Let's talk about the issues here. Every year I see fewer and fewer carved pumpkins. I live in a neighborhood with children and have yet to see one! What's the deal? Are we no longer practicing this long held tradition? I mean, I'm not carving one this year but that's only because I can't afford a pumpkin. Isn't that sad?

I guess I can afford one. I just don't want to have to buy one. Going to the grocery store is such a HASSLE. I can't stand it. People are so pushy nowadays. That's why I go late at night. Not too long ago I was at Kroger at about 11. At night. I got behind a young man in line who was wearing a mechanic's jumpsuit. But it was reddish-pink. With the sleeves cut off. With teal Chucks. And he had long tangly hair. Would you like to know what he bought? Okay. I'll tell you. He bought a box of fried chicken and a box of magnum condoms. Mmmmm, chicken and condoms. I saw him a few nights later at a gas station wearing a long broomstick skirt. I hope the rednecks in the gas station didn't beat him up.

Okay, okay. I shouldn't be sitting here writing a blog about Halloween and the freaks who dress up early and buy weird shit at Kroger when I'm getting paid to answer the phone.

It's not ringing much today. Architects don't like to work on Fridays, which is totally fine with me.

Anyway. Feel free to join in my Halloween discussion. I'm curious as to what you all are doing this year and why you hate Halloween so much. Don't tell me it's Satan's birthday. It's not.

Well, I'm going to be a muffin. I don't hate Halloween though. :0

We might carve pumpkins... my mom bought some giant ones and she's been showing them off to all her friends so I figure there's not much else to do with them.

I saw where you got am medium man's shirt so I guess this means you're looking for a medium man, huh? Chile, don't settle for medium, okay! About Halloween, I don't carve pumpkins because I don't like pumpkins. I don't do candy any more as I am a diabetic; also alcohol will turn to sugar in the body and that rules out my Hennessy. Oh, well, I guess I'll just stay home and watch sci-fi on cable.

halloweens actually one of my favourite days of the year. :)

thanks! that's one of my fav dish. sometimes i'll stuffed it wth a mixture of shredded cucumber + carrot + turnip. most ppl over here (malaysians) usually eat the stuffed beancurd wth peanut sauce or chilli sauce. or jst the plain beancurd itself :)

I should have just cooked breakfast this morning. Splashing cold milk on my toes definitely wasn't worth it.

I'm not anti-Halloween, but I don't do anything special for it either. I never liked getting into costume (but I love coming up with costume ideas), and it's not fun to carve pumpkins when you're living in an apartment building because no one's going to see it anyway.

I also do not think people around here are mature enough to leave carved pumpkins alone. At home, I remember a time when my little sister cried because some teenagers came by and smashed her pumpkin. Those are the types of people that live around here--except not teenagers: college kids. In some cases, that's even worse.

This Halloween, I'm going to be working on a paper and studying for an exam. Hooray for graduate school.

I don't even know!
Maybe they were on a diet or something. A class-wide "No Cheetos" diet. And they were just jealous of her cheesy fingers.

What lengths must we go to explain this madness?!

Miss highschool?!
How on earth do you manage that? I'm so ready to be out of here. All this craziness is driving me... crazy...
-ahem-

I too noticed the lack of Halloween spirit this year. It seems that the holiday just creeped up on everyone.
» bananaface on 2008-11-10 11:26:41

I know this is kind of late but...
We had no problem getting our pumpkins, they were like only around $2 or $3 and there wasn't that big of a lineup. The only thing bad on Halloween was me seeing my ex at the place he works at. O.O (Metro)
» baskinthemoonlight on 2008-11-11 03:08:08

I don't really ( and didn't) celebrate Halloween.
This year, I drove back home to throw my kid sister a 13th birthday party instead.

And what's so wrong with joining Megatron's crew? They ha dbetter personalities..
» Dilated on 2008-11-11 03:45:52

I went to a con for Halloween, and was expecting loads of funtastic events and costumes. However, much to my disappointment, it basically sucked. At least I got to dress up though.
