No pain, no gain!
Ok the person who started the whole “no pain, no gain” thing obviously was masochistic. That has to be the biggest pile of you know what that I’ve ever heard before. Honestly there are PLENTY of things you can gain without having to go through pain…in any form. I was told this when I went for physical therapy, not by my therapist, last week. I started to laugh since it’s not the first time I was told this as if it’s supposed to make me say, “You’re SO right! Going through all of this pain and having my muscles feel like they are on fire because I haven’t been able to use them for so long make everything A-Ok!” XD Yeah, it was more like me giving the person an “Are you sane?” look and then smilingly while thinking “freak”.
Fangli posted a link to a cousin’s friend blog that's about the bentos she makes; http://kitchencow.livejournal.com/. They all look totally yummy! XD She’s very artistic too and it must take her an amazingly large amount of time. I’m sure for most things she must use a mold or cookie cutter type of thing for the stars and such. It makes me hungry and makes me want to try harder to find an authentic, reasonably prices Japanese bento. I asked a “friend” of mine next time he goes to Japan if he happens to see one to send me the bill and I’ll pay for it. It’s so hard to find anything authentic. Even the stuff you think is, normally is made somewhere else. Such a pity really…
I’ve finished my volume of Antique Bakery, which of course left me wanting more. I am extremely tempted to buy the next volume and a volume of a shounen-ai/yaoi series called Our Kingdom (Well that’s the English title at least. I forget what the Japanese one is.) I know I need to not fall into the temptations of the evil online manga buying and wait until Sept…which is relatively close, but it’s SOOO hard. I just received a 5% discount for the site too on my next purchase!! I hope it’s good until Sept. It’s so hard to be good when you have your credit card a foot away from you and a coupon burning a hole in your e-mail inbox!!
Speaking of yaoi. I asked a “friend”, the same one who visits Japan reg., if the yama nashi reallllly does mean no climax, or if it means something else. It turns out it does! It was not translated into something less graphic like hentai usually is. (Look it up for yourself if you want to know what hentai really means.) I think I may end up putting it on my sig in the SnS forum…
You might be wondering why I keep putting parentheses around friend. Well it’s because I’m not quite clear on what to call him. He’s more then an acquaintance, yet I don’t know if friend is the best way to describe our relationship. I guess the best term would be sensei since he teaches me a lot of different things about the Japanese culture and language, but even that is pretty wrong... So complicated.
