Two down, two to go Sunday. 6.2.13 8:10 pm I finished Zoo just now. It's an interesting theory that I'm sure could happen. If you're the type of person who likes suspense and is okay with descriptive gore, then I would highly recommend Zoo. In case anyone does actually want to read it, I will not be putting any details in here that could contain spoilers. Essentially, it's about animals that turn on humans, with humans being the only mammals not affected by this sudden outbreak of rage. Now that I've finished Zoo, I can start on the other two books in the series I started reading again before Zoo: The Women's Murder Club series by James Patterson. 11th Hour is up next. I should be done with that before the end of the week. Then comes 12th of Never. After I'm finished with that? Who knows. Tomorrow I get to break in my new running shoes. I'm back at the beginning again. I can't seem to get past the 4th week. I can repeat day 1 of the 5th week over and over, but I'm always too afraid to move on. I guess we'll see what happens this time around. Now that I have shoes designed for running, I may be more motivated than last time. Before, I was getting more and more sore and it turned out the shoes I thought were made for running, weren't. These that I have now are incredibly lightweight and have a lot of cushion on the sole. The only thing I'm missing now are socks, but I'll buy those sometime soon. The high heel wedges that I have are awesome. They make me rather tall. As much as I like my height, every once in a while, I like feeling tall and these shoes definitely do the trick. Now I just have to figure out a time and place to wear them. Anywho, I will probably be calling it a night here in the next hour or so. I don't want to start the new book tonight because I'm afraid I'll not be able to put it down. Stopping while I'm ahead, in this case, is a good idea. Until tomorrow. . . Comment! (0) | Recommend! Hypersensitivity Saturday. 6.1.13 4:45 pm My friend finally text me shortly after noon yesterday and we went to Shilshole Beach in Ballard. We sat in the shade and played cards, but we weren't there for long. Hunger kind of took over and the quest for food was on. We stopped at this awesome sandwich place called Paseo Caribbean Restaurant. They have entrees there too, but they're kind of known for their sandwiches. Aside from way too many grilled onions, the sandwich was amazing. I'll have to make time to eventually go back. Since it's a curb side type of place, they only have these long-ish wooden picnic tables outside. We were there for maybe 30-45 minutes and my face and arms got burned! Not badly, mind you, but there's definitely a red tint to the skin that had been exposed. I used to be able to go out and be in the sun for at least an hour before the sun started to affect my skin. Apparently now that I've lived here a while, my skin is becoming hypersensitive to the sun. I guess this means I'll be buying sun screen this year. After we finished eating, we headed to the movie theater and saw After Earth. It's not horrible, but it's not great. I would suggest waiting until it comes out on DVD before seeing it. I also wouldn't recommend buying it either, it's not worth the money. I kind of wish we had seen the Great Gatsby instead, but he didn't seem interested in that option whatsoever. Oh well. After the movie, I came home and hung out for the rest of the day. I was asleep before 10:30, but I had also been up since 7:30 and out since 9. Today I got my laundry done then showered and drove up north to pick up my shoes. I also bought the two books I wanted to buy, grabbed a bite to eat and here I am back home. I have to go back to work tomorrow, but I need to make money somehow. Unless I {play and} win the lottery, money won't just magically appear. Alright, I'm gonna go browse the web then finish Zoo before calling it a night. I'll start the 11th Hour tomorrow. Until then. . . Comment! (2) | Recommend! Quick one Friday. 5.31.13 11:35 am I'm writing super early compared to when I normally do in case I don't get home before midnight tonight. I most likely will, but this is just in case. I got up fairly early this morning, around 7:30, but didn't get out of the house until closer to 9. Jake and I were supposed to go to breakfast this morning, but he picked up some early overtime and I didn't want to have to worry about being rushed through breakfast, so we're postponing until probably next weekend. I'm also supposed to be hanging out with my friend in from out of town today, but I haven't heard from him yet so who knows if/when that'll happen. We're supposed to be getting together at noon, but if I haven't heard from him by 1 I'll probably text him to see what's up. Depending on how today goes, I will either get my stuff done today or tomorrow. I want to go to the book store to buy the 11th and 12th books in the James Patterson series I started reading again. I am also expecting my shoes to arrive sometime today so I'll probably get the books when I go to get my shoes. There was something else I wanted to do, but now I can't remember. Hopefully it comes to me. Anywho, I'm going to continue watching shows on Hulu for now. Possibly read some. We'll see how the rest of today goes. Until tomorrow. . . Comment! (0) | Recommend! So tired Thursday. 5.30.13 8:25 pm I worked some overtime today. I hadn't planned on that so I'm more tired than normal. The money is the only reason I volunteered to work 4 extra hours on my Friday. However, now I'm pretty drained so I'll probably be going to bed early. Which also means I will not be reading much tonight. It's barely 8:30, the sun is still up and I'm already fighting my eye lids. Work was uneventful. It was nice to have an easy final day of the week. Tomorrow should be good times. I may be writing a very early entry in case I'm out later than I expect to be. I am doing so well with writing something every day, I'd hate to miss a day now. It's actually not as difficult as I thought it would be, despite it being nearly June. Alright, I will try to stay up for at least another half hour, mostly because my hair is still pretty wet from the shower. The other reason is because the sun is still up and I want to wait until it's darker before I call it a night. Until tomorrow {hopefully} . . . Comment! (0) | Recommend! On edge Wednesday. 5.29.13 6:52 pm I nearly punched someone in the face this morning. 20 minutes in to my shift and I was already ready to hurt someone. The day did not start out well. I've been on edge for at least a couple days now, though I'm not entirely sure why. I hope whatever it is that's causing it passes soon. Or I break down and cry for a good 20 minutes. As long as it's not a panic attack break down. I feel that would almost make it worse. Tomorrow will probably be busier than I'd like it to be. I will most likely spend a majority of my shift being as unproductive as possible. If I cared less about my job, I would just call off, but since I like earning money, I will save the remaining sick days that I have for a rainy day. Or a day when I actually might kill someone and the only way to avoid that is to call off sick. We'll see what happens. I just need this weekend to come. I need two days off. Maybe it's time to start casting a line again and see if I get any bites. The last few times I've cast my line, I've gotten jack squat. Less than jack squat. More like air. Ugh. These entries really haven't been the lightest recently. Sorry about that. Hopefully with the time off this weekend, I'll have some time to recover from my funk. Hell, I might even play the lottery. Just for shits and giggles. Time to go lose myself in a book. Until tomorrow. . . Comment! (1) | Recommend! Two more days Tuesday. 5.28.13 7:38 pm I am definitely looking forward to this weekend and for several reasons. First, it's the weekend. No work. That is probably the most obvious reason. Second, it's payday. This particular check will have extra monies on it thanks to some overtime and with it being the third check this month, there will be no medical expenses extracted. So that will be fairly awesome indeed. Third, my shoes are supposed to be arriving on Friday. Fourth, I will be buying myself a couple new books that I completely plan on reading {unlike a year and a half ago when I bought the book that I just recently read and finished. Although I think at that time it was more just me spending money in an attempt to alleviate sadness during a rough time and not because I actually wanted to read it.} Anywho, I digress. The final reason is because I am supposed to hang out with a friend who is in town visiting for a week! I haven't seen him in probably close to two years now so I'm excited. I have no idea what we're going to be doing, but whatever it is, I'm sure it'll be a good time. The last time I was this excited about seeing someone who was visiting was probably when I drove to Tucson back in like, '09. So basically, never when someone else was visiting. I have always been the visitor. Today was fairly uneventful. Hopefully the next two days are as well. I want this week to end smoothly so that I can be as stress-free as possible {for me} on Friday so that I can make the most of out it. I have moved on {mostly} from the funk that I was in yesterday. I slept horribly last night so this morning I actually kind of wanted to cry. I just felt like I was on my tipping point, but as the day went on and nothing too exciting/crazy happened, I calmed down a little bit. Hopefully tonight will not be a repeat of last. Alright, two more days to get through before my weekend. Here's to hoping they go buy quickly and smoothly. Until tomorrow. . . Comment! (2) | Recommend!
