So that's what it's like Sunday. 7.21.13 7:55 pm Oh man, the plan for yesterday worked ... for the most part. I was up at 7:30a to get my laundry done, went to my friend's place and hung out for a while before working the swing shift that I swapped for with a coworker. By around 8p I was starting to get pretty tired, but I had to push through until 10. I got home around 10:30 and was asleep shortly before midnight. I slept straight through until my alarm went off at 4:45 this morning. I woke up pretty confused as to why it was already going off, but then I realized that I had slept for 5 straight hours. That's definitely something that doesn't happen often. It may or may not have to do with the fact that I tend to nap when I get home from work. . . Either way, I probably could have gone back to sleep for another couple hours, but duty calls. And the bills don't exactly pay themselves. How fantastic would that be if they did? Thanks to a coworker I will be going in for an impromptu interview for a part time job on Wednesday after work. Which, unfortunately, means that I'll have to push back the plans that I had for that time, but hopefully my friend will understand. I really could use this part time job. I'm doing horribly again on saving up money. I'm actually half tempted to just open a second account so that I can just have the second income go there rather than being able to easily access it with my main account. I have to get the job first before I get too far ahead of myself. We'll see how Wednesday goes. The past few mornings have been cool and overcast, which is nice because it means that by the time the sun burns through, it doesn't warm up too much. Today is the first time in probably a week that I've turned on my fan. It warms up about 20 degrees by the end of the day and as long as it stays under 80 or just at 80, it's nice. Anything over 80 is definitely pushing it. Alright, I need to shower before it gets too late. My hair does still take a couple hours to dry despite the fact that I had more than a foot cut off. Until tomorrow. . . Comment! (0) | Recommend! Early morning fog Saturday. 7.20.13 8:19 am It's cool and foggy outside. Just how I like it. The sun will probably burn through it later and ruin it all, but that's kind of to be expected. I can enjoy it while it's there. I don't think this is the earliest I've ever written an entry, but I could be wrong. I'll have to go back and check at some point. The reason for writing this early is because I have a busy day ahead of me and I don't want to forget to write something when I get home tonight after work. My laundry is in now; an advantage when you actually get up early enough in the morning is that you're usually the first one to get to the washer/dryer. After my laundry is done, I'll be heading over to a friend's house for a couple hours. We originally planned to hang out for most of the day, but when my coworker wanted to swap shifts, I cut the plans short. I didn't want to completely cancel them because it's been a while since we've hung out, but I also wanted to be able to help out my coworker so we worked it out. I'll be leaving her place around 1 in case there's traffic. I have serious doubts since today is Saturday, but I know that if I push it there will probably be some kind of crazy accident or something and I'll be really late to work. I'm the type of person who feels that 5 minutes early is too late. It's probably a good thing. So I guess today won't be too busy, but I won't be home much. I'm hoping that with me being up and out of the house all day, I'll be tired enough when I get home tonight that I can go to bed right away and get enough sleep for work tomorrow morning. I guess we'll have to see. Until tomorrow. . . Comment! (0) | Recommend! Lazy day off Friday. 7.19.13 7:41 pm I've started this entry twice and deleted what I had both times. The title has even changed once. I spent the day doing nothing. I made myself some couscous and tomato sauce around noon-ish. The last two peppers I had were already starting to go bad, although I have had them for about a week now so it was just the couscous, sauce and the rest of the cheese I had. The next time it'll just be couscous and sauce. It tastes fine, just kind of plain. I'm not sure if I'm still hungry or if it's just because my brain is telling me that I want food. I'm being rather picky, though. I have other kinds of food in my kitchen besides couscous, but it's all unhealthy food. Although, the take out craving I'm having for Chinese food is far from healthy so I have no idea why I'm so turned off by the food I have in my kitchen. Perhaps the craving is overpowering the desire for anything else. I can't afford to buy Chinese, however, otherwise I would. It started out pretty cool this morning, but the temperatures rose pretty quickly once the sun burned off the clouds. I've decided not to buy another fan, unless the one I have breaks. It won't be getting hot enough here often enough to where I'll need a second fan so I'll just deal with the heat waves as they come. The rest of tonight will be spent just browsing the net, watching YouTube videos and attempting to get to bed at a fairly reasonable hour so that I'll have energy to get through the long day tomorrow. We'll see how well that goes. Until then. . . Comment! (0) | Recommend! So many Thursday. 7.18.13 9:01 pm The kitchen staff called in to have security pick up their lost and found items from them today. It was like shopping at a fucking yard sale. 129 single items, 88 of which were just pieces of silverware. There were so many spoons! I was told that it was 'several months' worth. I didn't have to log every individual item, but rather in bulk. It would have taken me ages to log 129 items. All of these things have been long since forgotten by their owners so in 90 days they will be shipped off to charity. Why do I get all the weird shit? I'm glad that I'm off tomorrow, however, I have no idea what I'll be doing. I'm broke, again, and there's really nothing to watch on the net now that I'm caught up with everything. I suppose I could find something to binge watch on Netflix, but we'll see. Saturday will be busy, though. Hopefully it'll be busy enough that when I get home from work I'll be tired enough to go right to sleep for my normal shift Sunday morning. I didn't mean to be writing this so late. Usually I'm pretty good about getting it done around 7ish, but I think I was watching Master Chef at that point so I just lost track of time. I'm still within the time constraints of today, so it's not a miss. Just a late one. Until tomorrow. . . Comment! (1) | Recommend! Funny that I mentioned it Wednesday. 7.17.13 8:16 pm It didn't rain a lot last night, but it certainly rained. There was some awesome thunder and lightning storms to accompany it as well. I was awake for both times, around 11 and again around 2. It was fantastic. The one time where I'm actually happy that I was awake in the middle of the night. It was so soothing just laying in the dark watching the flashes outside my window and listening to the thunder rolling in the background with the rain pelting my windows. Too bad that doesn't happen more often here. I wouldn't be surprised if that was it for the remainder of the year. Work wasn't too bad today. We had someone from a different site to tour around our site to see if he was interested in working the newly opened grace shift. I'm not sure how it went, but I guess I'll find out if the position gets filled. Tomorrow is technically my Friday. However, since I only have the one day off I'm not sure if I'll count it as my weekend. I have no plans for actual Friday. I'll probably just hang out at home. I was looking over the jigsaw puzzle options and because I got them for Christmas, the two horizontal ones are actually winter themed. . . which I'm not sure how well it would fit in with the summer season. It would almost be more exciting working on them once it gets a little bit cooler, which actually won't happen for a few more months, at least. We'll see how I feel. I've nearly depleted my finances again. . . damn uncontrolled splurges. Most of the money from the last paycheck went toward things that were necessary. But there was about $200 that I probably could have saved and didn't. I'll have to be really careful with the next few paychecks and really hope that I can find a part time job that works with my current full time job. I need to reply to an email and then probably watch Pretty Little Liars before calling it a night. Until tomorrow. . . Comment! (0) | Recommend! Swapped days Tuesday. 7.16.13 7:51 pm Today felt like Saturday to me because, minus the laundry, I've done absolutely nothing. I swapped shifts with a coworker so I'll actually be working swing shift this coming Saturday. Apparently I was lucky that I didn't work today because it was super busy. It's definitely summer in Seattle. It hasn't rained here in 3 weeks and it's definitely feeling rather dry out there. I know the best way to make it rain, via Murphy's Law, is to get my car washed. Unfortunately that won't even be an option until next payday and I'm pretty sure with it being the rent check, I won't have enough afterward to get it washed. So I guess the best I can do is just hope that some kind of precipitation makes its way here. Two more work days and another day off. I have no plans for Friday. It will probably be another sit inside and try to stay cool kind of day seeing as how it'll be in the 80s all week. The tiny spot on my leg that got burned a couple weeks ago is peeling. At first, I didn't know why my leg was peeling, but then I remembered that it was rather red after the river outing. It was the only spot that seemed to have been missed by the sun screen, aside from some slight burning on my shoulders, chest and back, but none of those spots peeled. I guess I could put lotion on it, but the spot is smaller than a dime at this point so I'm not sure it'd even be worth it. I'll just make sure I'm careful and put lotion on next time I shave my legs. Anywho, I guess that's all for today. I'm thinking about tearing down the puzzle on the table and starting another horizontal one. Perhaps that's what I can do to fill in the time on Friday. We'll have to see. Until tomorrow. . . Comment! (1) | Recommend!
