quotes.
"Pain, you just have to ride it out, hope it goes away on its own, hope the wound that caused it heals. There are no solutions, no easy answers. You just breath deep and wait for it to subside. Most of the time pain can be managed, but sometimes the pain gets you where you least expect it. Hits way below the belt and doesn't let up. Pain, you just have to fight through, because the truth is you can't outrun it and life always makes more."

"Forgive and forget. That's what they say. It's good advice, but it's not very practical. When someone hurts us, we want to hurt them back. When someone wrongs us, we want to be right. Without forgiveness, old scores are never settled, old wombs never heal, and the most we can hope for is that one day we'll be lucky enough to forget."
Day 3
Friday. 6.25.10 11:55 pm
So I woke up around 6AM feeling pretty dead. I skyped with my parents for a few minutes and they let me go back to bed. Woke up again around 8 and got ready for our bike tour! (:
Showed up in the lobby and walked over to the Eiffel Tower to meet our tour guide. We waited there for about 30 minutes. Afterwards we went back to their main office to go pick up our bikes and then we were off! We rode around Paris and the crazy drivers in traffic. It was pretty fun, but it was extremely hot. Ok maybe not extremely, but it definitely did make me break a sweat. We had lunch at the Jardin du Tuileres after seeing the Louvre and Place de la Concorde. We rode our bikes back to the office after riding all around. I got some of it on video. The tour guides were pretty cool. They were all American.

After our little bike tour we went back to our hotel and then went to go find a creperie place that we're going to have dinner at in a few days. After that we went to Auchan to buy some groceries. We got to go on the subway again. Pretty easy this time since it was super crowded and the strike wasn't going on anymore. I'm getting the hang of this subway system. Ha, now only if I could understand how the addresses worked! Oh well I'll figure it out. The grocery store was in a mall and it was huge. They had all kinds of different types of one item. So many choices. Hahaha. Jims and I ended up buying some stuff to take back home. We still gotta do some souvenir shopping.

Right after that, we dropped off groceries and had to go meet up at the Eiffel Tower for our tour. Literally we had no break. ): I was super exhausted. I think I would've enjoyed being at the top of the Eiffel Tower if I wasn't so tired. 3 Levels. Took forever to get to the top and it took forever getting down. We had a lot of lag time cause we were there when the sun was setting and we waited for them to turn on the lights and make it sparkle. Haha.

We got back to our hotel at 11:45PM and now I'm ready to just take a shower and knock out! Have to wake up super early again tomorrow and do a TON more of walking. I'm not excited cause I don't know how much more my feet can take. /= I just want to shop already hahaha..

Day 1-2
Wednesday. 6.23.10 11:26 pm
Long time no see.. (: I brought this back to document my travels in France! Yes, I said France.

So travel day was yesterday. I had some last minute things to do at Ventura College and then headed off to LAX with my family and Jims around 2. Got to LAX within an hour, met up with our group which consists of 29 people including ourselves, checked in our baggage, and said bye to the family. Jims, my brother, and I ate at Burger King in the airport while we waited for our flight to board. We didn't board on the plane till around 6:10PM. When we finally did, Jims didn't get to sit with us. /= We flew Air France. It was neat cause we all had tv's on the back of the headrest and we got to pick movies, shows, music, and games to keep us busy on the 10-hour flight. All high-tech! Anyway, I hardly slept. I felt super uncomfortable.

We got to Paris around 2 in the afternoon, got picked up by a bus, checked into our hotel which is about 30 minutes away from the airport and 2-3 minutes walking distance from the Eiffel Tower. (: We got our rooms, unpacked a little, and met up to go exchange some currency, and walk to a grocery store. I don't remember what the name was, but it was really small. We just bought some juice and water and candy. We also bought some fruits and yogurt to put in our mini fridge in our room. After that, we went back to our hotel and unpacked some more and got ourselves situated. Jims and I explored the Eiffel Tower a bit and walked around the park near the aquarium because they had this FIFA Fan Fest thing going on. So the park was full of people watching the game from the big screen. Saw a lot of police and men in uniform carrying guns. Haha kinda scary. We got back to our hotel around 1030PM and the sun was barely setting. Crazy! It didn't get dark till around 11PM. Went to bed starving and we all woke up around 5AM this morning.

I skyped with my parents for a bit then got ready for our trip to Versailles. Met up at the lobby and got a quick breakfast around 9 then we were off on the bus. Unfortunately the Versailles Castle was closed due to the strike going on, so we just walked around the place and not inside it. We got lunch, but half of us separated to go eat at a restaurant, while the others had a picnic at the park. I went to the restaurant and ended up ordering some chicken nuggets. HAHA. Afterwards, we went to go see where Marie Antoinette lived and all that. It was really cool. TONS of walking and it felt really hot outside. We got back to the bus around 330, then the bus took us back and took us around Paris for a little before it dropped us off back at the hotel. More than half of our group fell asleep on the ride home. Hahah..

As soon as we got back to our hotel I napped cause I was so tired. We had to meet up at 6:45PM to go to our fondue dinner. Me and my brother ended up waking up late so we left to dinner late. Woops! We got to ride the metro. It was pretty interesting. The last metro we got on was packed and we had to wait 8 stops to get out. It was like a super crowded mosh pit with no fresh air. I was starting to sweat. Then we finally got out and had to find the fondue restaurant. I, on the other hand was not excited cause I don't eat cheese. So instead I ordered this salmon salad which was pretty good. The wait was pretty long. I was falling asleep. We didn't leave the restaurant till 11PM and we made it back to our hotel just a couple minutes before midnight.

I've taken my shower and I feel so much better. Woo. I'm pretty beat. I'm just waiting for my hair to dry and I'm going to knock out. We got an early day tomorrow because we're going on a bike tour. So, we'll see how that goes. (:
