On the way home I decided to title this blog “Technical difficulty”. Later that night I changed my mind on what to mainly write about and was going to title it “More money please.” This morning as I was driving to work I then wanted to title it “Look out for the short Asian Women”. I then decided to write about it all and went with “Hobo Stew”. For those of you who don’t know what that is I’ll tell you. It’s when you make a stew with pretty much anything left in your frig that hasn’t gone bad. I’m guessing hobos used to make it or people just decided it’s something they would do/eat and named it after them. If anyone knows why it’s called what it is please send an e-mail or post on the tag board. :)

So why was I going to call it Technical difficulty? Yesterday I took my other car, not the new one, into the shop because a week ago the engine was making a grinding noise when the air conditioner was on. Like every other time I’ve taken my car in they couldn’t find anything. Ok well that’s not true. ONE time they did find something was wrong and they also received a notice from the maker that if it’s brought in for the problem to replace both sides. Every other time they don’t find the problem. So they tell me to come in when I hear it. That’s kinda hard to do when I live in another town and they close at 6 which I can’t make it to Fresno and back in enough time since I get home around 5:45pm. At least I have it on record and it’s kinda sad when you hope your car will make that noise again just to prove you aren’t being a “silly woman”. I don’t go in for every little thing, but you pay anything over 5 grand for a car it better work perfectly. A grinding noise is far from perfect.

Our tile guys, or who I thought were “just tile guys” came last night to tell us what else they would be doing. We also told them what else we needed changed. See since I thought they were “just tile guys” I didn’t tell them where I wanted things like our mirror, glass, towel racks, etc. I thought we’d have to do that. Ok lemme correct that I thought my boyfriend would be doing that. :) I was wrong though. These guys don’t just do tile, but almost everything. I guess a jack-of-all-trades. Pretty nice really. :) Well after going over what needed to be done and how much it was we cut them another check. They were surprised I wrote it for the full amount including labor. I was surprised they were.

Seriously we aren’t talking millions of dollars here. It’s not like they could run off with the check and live off of it. I figure if you can’t do that then it’s not worth the trouble. Think about it. You’re going to be ruining your rep., fleeing the country to one that won’t extradite you back to the US, etc. Don’t you think you should be risking it all for more then a few hundred bucks? I mean to plan it right you’d be talking millions, well unless you want to live as a lower class citizen and why steal all of that money if you’re willing to do that right? I mean you’re usually going to do something like that if you’re trying to get out of being a lower class citizen. I’m not talking about living large either since that can draw unwanted attention as well. Just a slightly upper-class citizen where you don’t make waves, but you’re living much better then you were. :) I know I’ve put waaay too much thought into this for someone who won’t ever commit a crime huh? tee hee hee

I’m sure for those of you who know me find the third topic title slightly ironic. I’m Asian. I’m not short though and I don’t drive like the typical Asian…anymore that is. I used to, but things change when the one you love asks if you’re trying to kill yourself to get out of the relationship. :) hehehe Before I start this I would like to just say a few things. I know not all Asian women drive like that. I know that there are many men who do and there are many people of all different races and sizes who drive like this. This morning I did not care and honestly if you can’t see over the steering wheel then you need to buy a yellow pages phone book or get a different car. Have you ever thought for large vehicles they need a “You have to be this tall to drive!” sign? I have…many times.

I first start off my driving experience today trying to get onto the 99 behind someone in an Accord. Now they have better horsepower so she shouldn’t be going 40 onto the freeway. The speed limit may be 65, but when you’re about to be run over by a FedEx double long semi you better be moving. Now the semi wasn’t even near us when we started this little journey. In fact when we got onto 99 it wasn’t even in sight. It took her so long to get onto the freeway and for me to try to get around her that it had time at 60 mph to catch up and almost run us down. Then when I do try to move around her she speeds up and cuts me off!! Muttering a few cuss words under my breath I look to see what she looks like as I finally pass her 3 miles from that point. What do I see? A little Asian woman who can barely see over her steering wheel flipping ME off! I ignore and move on. Then as I get closer to Fresno I’m stuck behind a “train” of cars. The people in front of me refuse to go around the slow person in front so I start to “leap-frog” them. (Sometimes this can be tricky since most believe you should wait since they are, but like hell I am just because they want to force the slow person to move to the side when they obviously won’t.) Who do I see after finally passing the slow person? A little Asian woman who can barely see over the steering wheel in a Camery. This happens to me 3 more times, but the last time was amazing. The woman seriously almost ran me over. A little Asian woman in an Excursion. For those of you who don’t know what that looks like I’ll explain. Think of a large Suburban, but they seem slightly larger. I’m on the home stretch for work and think I’m home free. I was wrong. Here comes a little Asian middle-aged woman in her big freakin’ vehicle and I think nothing of this. They are everywhere and hell I already met 4 that morning. This one is different though. I guess not only could she see the lines on the road she also couldn’t see me in my civic next to her. She had THE hardest time keeping herself in her own lane. She almost side swiped me twice and then with barely inches to spare she cuts in front of me to cross 3 lanes within seconds. Thank God I was watching her otherwise I’d be in yet another accident… /sigh

I bought Hot Gimmick volume 11. I’m not sure why. It’s not a favorite series, in fact I hate Hatsumi…the whiney little… *cough* I just can’t help it. It’s like a car crash and I need to glance over and see what happened. So I spend my 10 bucks on a volume that I don’t really care for when I could be spending it on something like Antique Bakery which I adore. (Yes, yet another yaoi…but it’s not REALLY a yaoi in my opinion from the two volumes I have read that Beautiful Soup did.) I could have spent that money on Pocky and it still would have been a better choice. After reading it I always think the same things. “Stupid freakin’ Hatsumi! I hope she gets killed off and the series becomes about her sister.” “I need to break myself out of the habit of buying this stupid series.” I was surprised to see in the volume that Hana Yori Dango volume 18 is out. They wonder why people rely on scant groups. They are only half way done of a finished series that I finished reading a long time ago. I cringe at the thought of how Makino sounds. I’m always tempted to buy it because it seems Hawk missed some bubbles and such, but I always remember it’s a “high school” series and Viz seems to believe everyone speaks like they are from the valley if they are 25 or younger. I wonder if they make her say, “OMIGOD!” like Hatsumi. Seriously, what’s up with that? Sure she’s young, but so are many people who are part of the forum and not once have they posted “omigod”. Is Viz too cheap to spend the extra money for ink so they could say, “Oh my God!”? Maybe they are too cheap to hire good translators and proofreaders like you can find in scant groups? (Btw I find it amazing how they can end up cutting off parts of words in their printing.) Maybe they should just be lazier and have everyone just say, “OMG!” Now I would so buy another volume of this series if everyone spoke in “l33t sp34k”. That would be soooo funny and definitely worth the 10 bucks! :)

So here I thought this morning I’d be able to attempt to take a shower in my nice new tiled bathroom. I was wrong. Although the grout looked almost dry in the corners it was still a shade darker. This ended up screwing my whole morning up. I then had to gather my things, which are a lot btw, and go to my mom to use her shower. She’s not THAT far away, but enough to make it a hassle and just a pain. Then in a split second I decided to change what I was going to wear. This was just a very very bad idea in itself. Really when you know what you’re going to wear you should never ever change it. Rarely will the outcome of the change make you look any better or worse then your original plan. Think about it. You bought it, you must like it, so why change your mind? I blame my foolishness on the fact it was a decision made at 6:00am. :)

So how would this change so much in my morning? Oh just the little things. In the end I had a choice of taking my other car in to see what the grinding noise I hear a week ago was or to get to work on time. Guess which one I put off for tomorrow morning? To those who haven’t joined the all mighty work force yet here’s a tip for you. It’s really a very logical tip. Always choose to get to work on time. When you have a choice of keeping an appointment that can easily be changed to another day, like mine, do it. Even if you’ve notified your supervisor and they know you may come in late doesn’t make coming in late the “right thing to do”. Unless you’re bleeding or seriously injured, car has a flat or there’s some life altering event that has to be done right at that moment everything can be changed and be put off.

I have come to another realization in life after hosting a few drawing contests. No matter how hard I practice I will never become a mangaka. I will become an author, just because I’ll do self publishing so I won’t have to rely on others to pick up my work, but I’ll have to find someone to draw my stories for me. It’s a bit sad when I think about it since that may never come to pass anyways. I have a feeling that since it won’t be like how I envision it the artist I collaborate with and I will end up in a stand still. Then again that’s the worse case scenario and it could end up that I find the perfect person who matches my vision for each of my stories perfectly. I guess I’ll have to save the money, finish one of my many stories to find out. :)

Once again I’m going to put a plea out to those who haven’t read the update on 08/05/2006 on the home page to do so. Although I don’t mind not uploading, and my computer thanks you as well, I’m sure those who have taken the time to vote would like you to since the votes haven’t hit the mark I put in my first post.
