open house!
9/24/06 (sunday)
I went to the QP open house today. Church ran mad late because the Homily the priest was doing, though it was really good and I could pay attention to it, ran reaaaallllyyyy long. So by the time we got the school and parked and everything, since the parking was friggin nonexistant, it was already 2. Anyway...

(working from that High School Survey thing that Mr. Mulligan assigned us)
+ The school overall looks pretty easy to navigate.
+ Really up-to-date technology. Well, they were making a huge deal about smart boards, which we had at SHS even! but at least they have PCs. And they have macs too, but they're not the shitty macs that STA has.
+ I couldn't really tell a lot from the teachers besides the fact that they're demanding. But in a good way. And apparently, that one religion teacher is like, everybody's favorite.
+ [school population not mentioned]
+ There were flyers on the lockers about a Creative Writing club, and they have a literary journal and a school newspaper. So that's good with the writing!
+ From what I saw, the student body seemed pretty cool. As for obidient, I think they're good with that too. Except that STA alum that didn't listen to the teacher correctly and kept doing the wrong things while helping out XD
+ The staff didn't seem really strict or lenient. Actually, the staff looked pretty nice and friendly, from what I saw.
+ About ten or so minutes from home. But I'll probably take the bus anyway.
+ Softball and volleyball teams check.
- No scholarships apparently.

So unless my parents like, totally fall in love with PC, I think this'll be my number one choice. Well it will be my number one choice since I haven't been to PC or Saint Mary's, but I mean, this one seems the best so far. PC already has that transportation problem, though they have a bus too.

Oh gosh, I better submit my co-op form and WORK ON MY HOMEWORK. Holy shit, I forgot my timeline at Broad. DAMN!

P.S. I got really pissed at my parents when the whole tour was over. See, it was 3:45 and the PC open house was until 4 (well 4:15, but we didn't know that). So I was like, "If we hurry up we can make it!" and they're like, "No, if we leave now we'll only get there by maybe 4:10."
SO WE SAT THERE FOR 15 MINUTES. I was like, shit, does it take a half hour just to get to the school? And I don't think they understand what the times for an open house are, it means that the LAST TOUR is around the closing time. I mean, why would they say the closing time is 4 when the last tour goes around maybe 3:30, unless they say something about the in advance? GOSH. That was pissing me off so much because now I have no clue about what PC is like.

(excuse me saying gosh, I hate Napoleon Dynamite but I just got back from touring a school where religion is really important and it's rubbed off on me >.>)

so i'll write here
9/22/06 (late thursday night, technically friday)
I'm slightly procrastinating again >.>
Well not right now,
(well yes right now since I'm nutang'ing)
but I've held off my Last Supper essay until now.
I don't even understand it now that I'm starting it and it's too late (3 a.m. late) to ask anybody.
Cause they're all asleep!
I was just holding it off because I didn't have time for it before, does that count as procrastination? We've been at Migs and Mae's every day this week anyway, and I feel awkward doing essays at other people's houses.

So hey, look at that. Krishan was looking up his sn on google for some odd reason and found my nutang! Yay. We were retards back then, hah.

How is school. Hm, how is school?
I guess it's all right. Our Wednesday schedules are messed up though, Mr. Mulligan even messed up by giving us a 3/4-religion 1/4-science period and he was like "wtf?" when the bell rang. So we had longer science but I guess that's okay hah. And plus nobody remembers when our breaks are on Wednesday so some people just lug all their books around instead of waiting for the break hah. At least the afternoon isn't messed up, math and gym! XD
Tomorrow there's mass. During art, which sucks. I still don't get why the mixed up the art classes instead of just doing homerooms. I mean, a lot of people already figured out how to do it so that we have art with our homerooms, just put english and math in the afternoon and reading and art in the morning! Instead of having science, social studies, then english, art, math, reading? or whatever the hell we have. We'll get to choose our art tables though, which is good.

High schools are due next week >.<
My parents and I are going to open houses at PC and QP on Sunday, so I'll have to cram all my registration stuff into Sunday, which is okay, as long as I'm sure of where I want to go.
(I'll talk more about high school in a private entry I'll make right after this >.<)

I wish we could just get over wish co-ops, especially the math part. Everyone failed the practice test Mr. Benson gave out hah, highest grade was 25/40. I got a 21, wow.

So anyway. Oh yes, the Synoptic Gospels and their accounts of the Last Supper. Oh yes, Catholic schools and their extra subject, religion. Eh, it's all right for me.

resolutions for the new school year
9/15/06 (friday)
is a long title. Anyway, I was going to do this before school started, but I thought it up about a week before and forgot about it, then I only remembered about a week into school. So here it is. I'll elaborate on them if I feel like it.

  • do not procrastinate
(or at least start projects a week in advance)
I've been pretty good with this so far, I only had to stay up a while lately because of Gaia's addictiveness after a while and such. Actually, I got a little Gaia sidetracked right now. But that's not the point! I'm being good with procrastination so far, actually.

  • participate!
I think I'm good with this now too this year. The only teacher that really gets on to you about participating is S.S., if you don't participate she'll assume you didn't do the homework and give everybody a detention. But anyway, I'm good with this too. I even volunteered to do that mystery mix experiment in science. =D

  • volunteer
Well, it wasn't that much of a problem last year, but volunteering is fun and I'd do it anytime. But of course I'll ask if anybody else is volunteering first, because I am not getting stuck at the arts and crafts table with 7 kids wanting my attention at once, with their paretnts back them up.

  • do not hold off the science fair project!
Oh wait, this belongs up by procrastination is a no-no. Well I can't!

  • get good grades
Well no duh. Especially this year, with high school and all.

  • practice piano more
This doesn't have anything to do with school! Oh well.

I can't think of any more. I guess if I do, I'll go and put them here.

P.S. Sorry for not commenting people's sites lately. =[ No time, I guess it happens to all of us.

  • so school
    9/10/06 (sunday)
    is okay.
They made the 7th grade homeroom teachers the 8th grade homeroom teachers -.- But at least I got Mr. Mulligan! Hm... Alyssa, Mejelly, Alanna, and Victoria are in my homeroom. Actually, only eight of my old classmates are in my new class, the rest of them are still in Ms. Semple's class, including Caitlin, Ciara, Tracy, Andrew (sucks for Alyssa!), and Derek (grr I can't say I've been in all his classes since kindergarten now >.>).

So as for high school, now I'm 75% sure that it'll be QP. Plus, Danny and Caitlin already go to the elementary school, meaning that they'll be there, which means I'll have somebody to hang out with; since, of course, all my friends are either going to public schools or hate Jan so much that they'll never think about going to QP. Or they're going to an all-girls school (CIARA!). Gemma might be going there too, yay! We're probably going to the open house together, maybe we could do a freshman-for-a-day too? I really need to go to Paramus Catholic too, though.

I feel cool for buying OK Go's album before the VMA performance for some reason, hahaha.
