My 4 day weekend.

I must admit that I could have definitely gotten used to staying at home and doing absolutely nothing. It was very fun. XD I did some things, like release part B for Antique Bakery, downloaded drama episodes to upload for Animanga and washed a load of laundry, but I pretty much didn’t move from my in front of my TV. I played my phone games (Zuma and Tetris Mania) while watching TV and snacking on food I bought specifically for my days off. I was also pretty surprised I only wondered about work three times during my four days off. Normally if I’m sick or I have a three day weekend I worry all of the time. Are my co-workers ok? Did something come up with my job? Is a flood of calls coming in? Is there a ton of mail that a co-worker of mine has to sort and distribute? Are people going through and touching my stuff? Most of my worries came from being the receptionist so maybe that’s why I wasn’t so worried. I called on Friday because we were getting a new receptionist and I was worried about her not showing up. The co-worker who answered the phone laughed at me and told me to just enjoy my vaca. I took her advise and other then worrying a couple times on Monday about people touching my stuff I didn’t actually miss working. Pretty odd considering I always miss working. XD

While I was on vacation I happened to notice Mars on the Azn channel. It was cool to see it subbed, but I was a bit surprised that some of the names were spelled differently then what I watched. I was even more surprised to see a commercial in English right after it. I mean you don’t see English commercials on Spanish channels, so why would they be on Asian ones? It’s geared towards those people who don’t speak English so aren’t the people paying for the commercials wasting their money? Then again it was for that “Help, I’ve fallen and can’t get up.” thing so maybe it’s a phrase that anyone can understand, even if you don’t know English?

Since I take my lunch during one of the worst times when it comes to what’s on TV, I have a choice of cheesy soaps or Cops on our company TV, so I’ve been loving the fact I have a cubical even more. I’ve been burning CDs of anime and bringing it to work to watch during my lunch break. Lately I’ve been watching one of my favorite anime series, Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex Season 2. I love the whole series and the movie. I would totally love to own a Tachikoma! They have optical camo (ability to cloak) so I could easily go past stopped traffic, which would have been very handy this morning, and are equipped with all sorts of things like “spider silk” that could help me avoid accidents and since it’s an AI that can think for itself, but readily takes orders to who it’s loyal to I wouldn’t have to worry about it getting stolen like a car. XD I’m not usually into Si-Fi action mecha series, but I really like this one and the movie. It’s very well thought out and is believable that it could happen if we evolve enough. :)

My past week.

Monday: I see personalized license plates and covers all of the time. Usually they don’t strike me as misplaced since they make sense, but the other day I found one. A woman had a decently new Mustang with a cover that reads something like: If it’s dangerous then it’s for me. Not a bad one considering most; to the point, shows part of her character, etc. So I get behind her since speeding can be considered dangerous to those who can’t drive worth their salt (75% of the people in the city where I work) and she’s first in line for the red light we’re stopped at. I was oh so wrong. She starts at a crawl and doesn’t even hit 15 mph by the time we pass the other side. What dangerous activities is she doing? Needless to say I went around her the first chance I got.

Tuesday: Everyone around me at work is sick, everyone. I am trying my best to avoid them as much as possible which is pretty easy to do now that I have a cubicle. XD My boss comes back yesterday still sick from the weekend and after sending countless e-mails on a topic he sends me one basically saying to go to his office so we can talk about it. ... *blink* I didn’t want to go, he’s sick, but I went since it really is easier if we just talk about things then do it through e-mail, but he’s sick. *whimper* I stand in his door frame until we start to talk more and I need to look at his computer screen so I can see what he’s doing. I make sure to stand at least 3-4’ from him though. Suddenly another co-worker who’s sick comes in and stands in front of the door way! I’m in germy sick people hell! I have a desk to my left with a sick person and in front of me I have another and a wall behind me I’m trapped. My very first non-holiday four day weekend is coming up and I refuse to get sick. Getting sick is not an option for me!

Wednesday: The other night I looked through a scrap book my mom made for me. She gave it to me as a Christmas gift and I set it aside since I was still in awe over my crisp 20s she gave me, she understood. :) (I just used the last bill the other night which made me very sad.) It was filled with a lot of memories; some good, some bad, but mostly me taking really bad pictures. Suddenly I turned to the last page which was me graduating from High School. There I was in my cap and gown standing with a huge smile on my face glad to finally be out of the hell hole I went to school. I loved almost all of my teachers (My very favorite would be either my Junior Speech & Debate or my French teacher.), but they only make up 25% of the high school experience and the other 75% was a b**** to live through.

As I looked at the picture I realized something; it wasn’t a great picture with good lighting or anything, but when I’m truly happy I can really smile and take a great picture. It’s when I’m just smiling to smile that they come out crap! I never knew this about myself before. I now have one picture where you can clearly see my eyes and I’m smiling a very large happy smile at the camera and it showed when developed. I now know that if I’m really happy I can have no fear of having a picture taken of me. :)

Thursday: Today is my Friday from work and I am so excited!! XD Not only do I have my four day weekend, but since MediaMax took so long to get back to me about my problem they are giving me 4 months for free of the service I pay! Talk about sweet!! I wish they had done this a few days sooner since I doubt even with all of the links I’ve spread around people will go through it, but oh well. It will be very nice not paying for the service for a while and it was a really great way to compensate a very unhappy customer. :) If you need long term storage or you host and you never want to upload what you host again this is a great way. I’ve almost put all of Animanga’s dramas onto it. Our leechers still suck it up within a couple of weeks, but I’m hoping over time it might actually last the whole month. XD Almost time to go HOME!! /does her happy dance Since I had such great self-control over the weekend I decided not to when Godiva sent me an e-mail notifying me that they put their chocolate pretzels on their sale list. Normally they are too expensive for me considering they are “just” chocolate covered pretzels, but with the sale they came out to a very good price so I bought without thinking much about it. :)

So what do I plan on doing for my weekend? Abso-freakin’-lutely nothing but getting a nice supply of chapters “edited” I can do a weekly release, sleeping, eating and just being a cat really. I have a ton of manga to download and read. I haven’t watched anime in ages. Maybe I’ll rent some “chick” movies that my boyfriend would rather cut off his right arm and slowly bleed to death then watch with me for this weekend. :) That would be nice. I’ve been having some serious urges to play Tekken 5 and MK Deception. Oddly enough I have an easier time learning the moves for MK Deception then for Tekken 5 when MK is supposed to be harder to use. One of my favorite moves has to be Mileena and her axe kick, but Li Mei is still my favorite to play. Maybe I’ll rent it to play over the weekend.
