Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous. Actually, who are you not to be? | Top 3 Places Monday. 2.8.10 10:46 am NOT to buy proposal ring from 1) Taka Jewelery Any jeweler who is desperately hocking its wares is a bad place to start ring hunting from. 2) Citigems Just a notch above Taka 3) SK Jewelery Don't be fooled guys. The box is red and made purposely in imitation of the famous blue one. We're talking proposal ring here, not just any jewelery. SK has not turned respectable from its cheapo days yet. ok, everything I say from here onwards is gonna sound awfully materialistic. but what the heck. A girlfriend received a proposal ring recently. Us girls were really excited for her and we even arranged to meet up to hear all about the girly gossip; how did he propose? was it romantic? did he do anything special? were you expecting it? look how blissful you are! you're glowing! How could you have forgotten to bring? hahaha! den the practicalities when are u planning to ROM? Going to hold a wedding dinner? plans to apply for flat? ya, really gotta save up le den to the first thing on our mind but it'll be rude not to get all the above out of the way beforehand how big is the ring? how much did it cost? WHERE did he buy it from? blissful bride-to-be : Citigems 0.3karats Girlfriend thought she heard wrong : sorry i didn't catch blissful bride-to-be : Citigems -awkward half a minute of silence- aiya! you should have brought and shown us the ring! etc chatter Like I said, its gonna sound awfully materialistic yes, girls care about such things. especially when the guy in question is earning quite enough to afford a nice ring. I'm not saying that he must follow the supposedly unspoken cardinal rule that the ring should be 3X the guy's salary. It doesn't have to be, really. BUT i think its really damning that having only spent sth like 2k (the googled rate was 1.6avg, I'm giving him extra credit) for the ring. He went and got himself an Agnes B Homme largish leather bag.. which price ranges to abt 800 or more. I don't know what to think. =/ Comment! (0) | Recommend! the nice guy Friday. 2.5.10 10:07 am A friend once ominously told me, "there is no such thing as a true nice guy. There are just normal guys with acceptable faults." That statement upset me when I first heard it. Now this friend is not a guy hating feminist, this friend is actually a guy. This is a guy whom by most counts would be considered a nice guy, a romantic guy even. "But I know many really nice guys", I said. "Its all a pretense! They want you to like them that is all." I felt indigent for all my nice guy friends "You don't know what they get up to behind your back, I'm a guy, I've seen all these nice guys being themselves" Then i remember the nice guy who cheated on his pregnant wife. Another nice guy who was terrified of getting caught with his affair. The other nice guy who still wants to be a swinging single at heart despite an impending marriage. The nice guy who is way too cheeky because he can get away with it. The nice guy who is so flirty but "I don't mean anything, I'm just being nice". Or even just the nice guy who has a fiery temper once your back is turned. I know of these people. These are all real people. All these Mr Nice Guys, so likable by everyone around them but somehow doing not so nice things. After all Nice Guys are human and make mistakes too. Which validates my friend's statement, there are no Mr Nice Guys. Hmmm, I hope he is wrong though. Comment! (3) | Recommend!
