Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy. | I'm so awesome Monday. 9.12.05 10:12 am I am back at school now with my roommate Dave and we are currently in business keeping the rest of my floor awake at midnight when everyone else is trying to sleep. The reason I am so awesome though is because I am drinking. In my room. At lunch. Before music theory class. A Jack Daniel's Black Jack Cola. Very tasty. Okay chitlins, I have three, count them, 1, 2, 3, entries I need to post within the next week or so. One will be a summer recap (which my increasingly egotistical girlfriend informed me needs to be about her), another will be a band camp/skin cancer forever recap, and the last will be about school thus far. Because it fucking starts tomorrow. :) - Sarah is coming up and staying over tomorrow - She and I are leaving Thursday to go to Maryland to see Chicken - We are staying Thursday and Friday nights and hanging with him - We are leaving Saturday morning or afternoon (haven't decided yet) - Then there is the rest of Saturday and Sunday - 5-day weekend, what? Hell yes. Comment! (2) | Recommend! | Rate! omg Sunday. 8.7.05 6:51 pm weekends again Sunday. 8.7.05 10:09 am I am convinced that all Sarah and I do anymore is eat and sleep. Haha. Not that that's a bad thing. Last weekend, Sarah finally got up Canton way and we had a great time. We cooked dinner for my mom and Sarah did an excellent job cooking the chicken for it. I don't even remember what we did Saturday but I'm sure it was a good time. Probably more of the same - eating, sleeping, and having an all around great time. We did go to see Thrad and Brooke. We would have gone to see Ani DiFranco as well but Brooke stopped running her mouth long enough that Thrad didn't end up selling me the tickets. Brooke, you bitch. The next day, we did the Bullfrog dealy and I sat in with the band again and it was fun, and then we took Sarah home. Long frickin day of driving, but it was really nice to see her again. This week we have plans to go see Chicken! Details on that as it comes. Work was boring as usual. Nothing ever happens there. Thrad came up this weekend and my cousin Jenny got married to her longtime boyfriend Chris, who happens to be the stepson of my supervisor at work. So that makes us kinda family almost sort of. Jenny is my stepcousin anyway, so it's not really at al, but there is a community now, which is cool. My role in her wedding was to play guitar and sing "Cross My Heart" by George Strait, which I did and they all seemed to like it. It made me happy to play for them. Their ceremony was beautiful and fairly expeditious. The reception was okay for the company, but it was too big a room for the number of people they had, and nobody knew each other, so people just cliqued off. But that's sometimes the way with these things, so whateva. I have been unusually irritable lately. I wonder what's up with that. Ready to go back to school, I suppose, though I do love it here.
