Came back from Obon. It was good to see and hang out with old friends again, the weather was good so stayed in a tent for a night then at about 1am it started to rain. Being in a rain storm in a tent is noisy, not wet just noisy. The weather has been always changing from sun one minute to rain the next and could not be predicted. Left the next morning but it turns out that the four day event was able to continue as it did not rain. Next stop go and help fire an anagama kiln, time to get my pots all wrapped up.

Obon tomorrow heading to a remote island actually the place I used to live and work 6 years ago. Well nothing is really that remote and rural anymore after all there are airplanes, buses, trains and boats everywhere. Kind of hard to find a place that is accessable only by foot. Although I would really like to have that experience.

I am not sure why it is supposed to be a "new" method as there is nothing new about casting because it has been done for centuries. I don't think that this will be my way of making pots too much work to create the mold but could be interesting as an experiment.
