A few words
"When we describe the Moon as dead, we are describing the deadness in ourselves. When we find space so hideously void, we are describing our own unbearable emptiness."
~ D.H. Lawrence
"Is the meaning of life defined by its duration? Or does life have a purpose so large that it doesn't have to be prolonged at any cost to preserve its meaning?"
"Living is not good, but living well. The wise man, therefore, lives as well as he should, not as long as he can... He will always think of life in terms of quality not quantity... Dying early or late is of no relevance, dying well or ill is... even if it is true that while there is life there is hope, life is not to be bought at any cost."
"People will tell you nothing matters, the whole world's about to end soon anyway. Those people are looking at life the wrong way. I mean, things don't need to last forever to be perfect."
~ Daydream Nation
"All Bette's stories have happy endings. That's because she knows where to stop. She's realized the real problem with stories-- if you keep them going long enough, they always end in death."
~ The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes
"The road now stretched across open country, and it occurred to me - not by way of protest, not as a symbol, or anything like that, but merely as a novel experience - that since I had disregarded all laws of humanity, I might as well disregard the rules of traffic. So I crossed to the left side of the highway and checked the feeling, and the feeling was good. It was a pleasant diaphragmal melting, with elements of diffused tactility, all this enhanced by the thought that nothing could be nearer to the elimination of basic physical laws than deliberately driving on the wrong site of the road."
~ Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita
"It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend."
~ William Blake

How depressingly productive of me
Wednesday, January 9, 2008
Baking makes me happy. :/
But I don't like to eat what I bake. At least not a lot. The cookies got rave reviews from the people I gave them to.
I still have another containerful to give away. :| And one extra big cookie.
Not sure how it would work, but I kinda wanted Alice to give a cookie to DC to see if he liked it. We didn't end up doing that though. I just.... I don't know. I don't really want to get into anything I can't handle.
I want to bake some more.
Oh I forgot to say why it was depressing. Nothing I do makes me happy anymore. Except, apparently, baking. But I have no desire to pursue a future in cooking.
-Second editastic edit-
I just bought a Diesel Sweeties shirt with my Esearch money + holiday money. :0
There's a sale on the shirts there right now, if you're interested. Eight dollars for a mystery one and I think most other shirts are $13.99. Go look if you like that comic! The link is in the KtB module.
By the way, updated music/a few new radio links.
Plus I'm afraid to add to the 'How many ways are there to die?' thread because I don't want to kill it. :/
Cookies and you guys NEED TO BE PATIENT

That's right folks. Twenty cents. Well, a little more than that, but it doesn't make much of a difference.
Twenty cents and the comics shall be available for your viewing, should you choose to view them.
I'm scanning the comics now. They'll be up when I hit $50.
-Something you should know-
You're not getting the complete thing. I DO censor my name wherever it appears, but other than that they're whole. I doubt any of the jokes (or questionable humor) will be compromised by the removal of my personal information.
-Something else you should know-
I'm a teenager, and teenagers can be immature. There are a lot of -not clean- references and implications in my comics. So just be warned.
-Now the other junk that isn't comic related-
DC is crazy. :S Anyone who can not wear a jacket/sweatshirt/longsleeves on a day this cold is either extremely warm blooded or insane. Seriously.
-And more comic stuff-
I posted a comic (not a physics one) in the gallery. You are free to view it. It's just to give you kind of an idea of how the comics are formatted. They aren't that bad though, at least not most of them. :P
Four five six eight who do you appreciate?

Thirty two cents

Counting down to your reward.
I had to look at colleges yesterday. It sucked. :/
I figured it would be best to look at colleges that accept lots of people.
After all, low expectations = no letdowns.
Plus my grades pretty much suck.
Sometimes living here makes me want to just kill myself. I guess I could compete with all those straight A peers of mine, but I just don't have the motivation.
It's just a vicious cycle, I guess.
Grade drop -> depression -> no motivation -> grade drop etc.
I learned that anger runs in my mom's side of the family a little while ago. So I have anger issues on one side and depression on the other. Isn't that just peachy?
I'll... try to get around to uploading those pictures today....

And the fence came crashing down
Friday, January 4, 2008
We're having a lovely rainstorm here. It tore down the fence on the left side of our backyard.
Dad: "This happened the last time we had hundred mile an hour winds, too"
Hundred mile an hour winds? Yeah right. We had some sixty mph ones I think, and those tore some of the... somethings... off the roof. Not shingles, but longer.... eh well.
The basketball hoop in the backyard also tipped over. My dad was concerned about this because it has a heavy base. It came with the house, and in all my years of living here I've NEVER seen it down before. :S
Anyway, we also had a power outage. It lasted maybe an hour or two. I dunno. I have a bad sense of time. I was vacuuming when the power went out the first time. Then it flickered on again. So I started again. And then it goes off. I decided then that it was not going to come back on for a while, so I told my mom I wasn't doing it anymore. Of course the lights had to come on right after I said that. :|
We're going to Border's in a bit so I'll be back later, possibly with pictures.
