You're unsure if I am a loose end or a strand
that waits for you to mend or understand
A few words
"When we describe the Moon as dead, we are describing the deadness in ourselves. When we find space so hideously void, we are describing our own unbearable emptiness."
~ D.H. Lawrence

"Is the meaning of life defined by its duration? Or does life have a purpose so large that it doesn't have to be prolonged at any cost to preserve its meaning?"

"Living is not good, but living well. The wise man, therefore, lives as well as he should, not as long as he can... He will always think of life in terms of quality not quantity... Dying early or late is of no relevance, dying well or ill is... even if it is true that while there is life there is hope, life is not to be bought at any cost."
~ Seneca

"People will tell you nothing matters, the whole world's about to end soon anyway. Those people are looking at life the wrong way. I mean, things don't need to last forever to be perfect."
~ Daydream Nation

"All Bette's stories have happy endings. That's because she knows where to stop. She's realized the real problem with stories-- if you keep them going long enough, they always end in death."
~ The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes

"The road now stretched across open country, and it occurred to me - not by way of protest, not as a symbol, or anything like that, but merely as a novel experience - that since I had disregarded all laws of humanity, I might as well disregard the rules of traffic. So I crossed to the left side of the highway and checked the feeling, and the feeling was good. It was a pleasant diaphragmal melting, with elements of diffused tactility, all this enhanced by the thought that nothing could be nearer to the elimination of basic physical laws than deliberately driving on the wrong site of the road."
~ Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita

"It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend."
~ William Blake

HOW did I pick up the wrong one?
Sunday, March 9, 2008
Ugh, somehow I got semi-sweet morsels instead of butterscotch morsels. :/

You know, I really could've sworn I grabbed the right one.

The concert was... interesting. It was worship music, which didn't exactly thrill me, but the sound was alright. That place has good acoustics.

Halfway through, someone fainted. We heard this "THUMP" and everyone started looking around to see what had happened. When there was a pause a bit later you could hear all the whispers and murmurs from the audience members. And then the paramedics came in....

They finished it all, though. Professional-like.

I wonder if you have to learn Latin to sing in those things? A lot of those songs were in Latin.... I wanna learn Latin... but not because I want to sing. I detest singing. Just another one of the many things I utterly fail at....

There was this one song where the whole thing was just "which was the son of so and so, which was the son of so and so, etc. etc. etc." It was.... long. But mildly entertaining because of some of the names. Like "Elmodam." Or "Joanna" (as a guy's name; and it wasn't a typo). Or "Salmon" (I kid you not, I had to stifle my laughter).

The winner (at least for the text part) was Booz. Yes, Booz. My mom thought it was a typo. I just laughed. Turns out they pronounce it as "Bo-ose" though. :| Funny value is slightly less because of that.

I have no pictures for you from it because I didn't bring my camera.

Oh, and my mom got a ticket because we parked in the wrong parking lot, even though there were no signs or any warnings at all indicating that we couldn't park there.

Stupid colleges/universities. >:(

The phrase "I'm writing my autobiography" is redundant.

Adventures on the floor
Saturday, March 8, 2008
I let the birds run around on the floor today.

I also practiced my picture-taking skills. Although I can't say I improved much.

Here, Romeo (left) and Cici (right) refuse to let me get a facial shot.

Perching on the chairs.

Standing tall.

The floor is filthy.

Black and white makes everything look artsy.

Romeo is pretty plump compared to Cici and Starburst.

Yeah... they weren't really in a "do something cool for the camera" mood.

Retro sepia.

Cici profile.

The background lighting kinda phases everything out.

Uh... watched One Hour Photo this morning. Interesting movie. I wish I could've seen the whole thing though. Maybe I'll get it from the library, like my dad suggested.

Concert is tonight. :|

Quickzies
Friday, March 7, 2008
Now that I look at it, the title sounds really stupid. Oh well. :|

I made a quick snack-type-thing.

My mom had gotten me some Almost Whole Wheat pizza dough from Trader Joe's, and it had just been sitting in the fridge until now... I dunno exactly what I made but it doesn't taste half bad.

I just divided the dough into quarters and rolled it out into round-ish shapes, then put some olive oil with a bit of garlic salt and oregano in it onto the dough, baked it for five minutes, put cheese on, and replaced it in the oven for a bit... I think it turned out well.

Sorry to those of you who are always starving. (Silver) Pictures of food probably don't help, eh?

I've drawn a few more comics... don't know when I'll post them. Maybe I'll just wait until I hit another money milestone. ;P

CREEPY COOTIES
Friday, March 7, 2008
Ewww eww eww ewww...

Jonathan a.k.a. newest creepy guy in my life won't stop bothering me. He came up behind me when I was walking with Alice and like... was pressing up against me. And then he said my name and I just freaked out and jumped back and said "WHAT THE HELL!?"

I don't know how to type out that kind of grossed-out-half-sob noise.... Like when you touch something really disgusting and you're trying to wipe the contaminated part of your hand on your pants or the table or the wall or something and you just keep saying "Ew ew ew ew ew ewewewew!" until it kind of fades into a wordless distress sound.

Last night I dreamt I was exiled from reality...

Lolrus!
Tuesday, March 4, 2008
I was playing Improbable Island.

It seemed really confusing at first but after a while I got mildly used to it.

And it's funny, if you can take all the reading. :P

I'd planned to put a picture here of my joke questionnaire form, but I forgot to take the form home. (It was something about internet safety, I just marked it up rather... jokingly)

So, no pictures right now.

Man I feel like eating something.

1 + 1 = 3

I pwned a lolrus twice.

Now I'm playing Kingdom of Loathing. It's very fun until you run out of Adventures.
