A few words
"When we describe the Moon as dead, we are describing the deadness in ourselves. When we find space so hideously void, we are describing our own unbearable emptiness." ~ D.H. Lawrence "Is the meaning of life defined by its duration? Or does life have a purpose so large that it doesn't have to be prolonged at any cost to preserve its meaning?" "Living is not good, but living well. The wise man, therefore, lives as well as he should, not as long as he can... He will always think of life in terms of quality not quantity... Dying early or late is of no relevance, dying well or ill is... even if it is true that while there is life there is hope, life is not to be bought at any cost." ~ Seneca "People will tell you nothing matters, the whole world's about to end soon anyway. Those people are looking at life the wrong way. I mean, things don't need to last forever to be perfect." ~ Daydream Nation "All Bette's stories have happy endings. That's because she knows where to stop. She's realized the real problem with stories-- if you keep them going long enough, they always end in death." ~ The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes "The road now stretched across open country, and it occurred to me - not by way of protest, not as a symbol, or anything like that, but merely as a novel experience - that since I had disregarded all laws of humanity, I might as well disregard the rules of traffic. So I crossed to the left side of the highway and checked the feeling, and the feeling was good. It was a pleasant diaphragmal melting, with elements of diffused tactility, all this enhanced by the thought that nothing could be nearer to the elimination of basic physical laws than deliberately driving on the wrong site of the road." ~ Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita "It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend." ~ William Blake Think about it Musicalities! Tuesday, August 19, 2008 You probably have not noticed yet because I only just did it, but I changed some of my links. Now that you know you can see them for yourself. They're quite obvious. It's interesting when foreign artists write songs in english. There's something just... different about the way things sound. And I don't mean like they're mispronouncing things or using incorrect grammar. It's something to do with the way things are worded I think... I wish I could write like Sting or Jim Thirwell. Or maybe sing. (I can't sing to save my life, my voice cracks- but most of you know that anyway) And of course I can't dance, either. All signs point to a career not in showbusiness. Well, actually, I don't know if I can act. So showbusiness is not completely out of the question. Although I'm not really sure why I'm thinking about this because I have no interest in that at all... Whatever happened to zero_jak NRGjester thefireisinside337 Radioactive-Note monkeymeister and Robot Jones? [Sorry for the reference to that crappy TV show, I couldn't resist. :P] (I didn't make this but I think it's pretty accurate) ---Edit--- I've been thinking about getting a signature for a long time, but I think I'd want to change it all the time... also dave hasn't been around for a while, so I figured I'd wait until Praetorian was all settled as our co-admin... Forgive me if I've asked this before, but how does the signature work (again)? --- My brother has an obsession with me spitting in his food. No matter how many times I tell him I've never done it, he always thinks I have. So oftentimes I laugh just to screw with his mind. I'm not sure if it's technically getting back but it's as close as I can really get. Comment! (9) | Recommend! "Was it always like that?" Monday, August 18, 2008 Oh, the countless times I've wondered that. I was just about to write a new entry when I paused to look at the 'New Entry' button. It looked terribly unfamiliar. "...And that was when I decided to change my name to Squirrels McBabsy and live out the rest of my days in Iceland." Well maybe not Iceland. Greenland? Disneyland? Nah. I would never be able to stand all the characters running around and doing questionable things with terrified small children, the parents of which are grinning maniacally and taking pictures with the kind of lust only their kind can possess. I am half-trying to think of what I want to eat for my birthday. Or rather, what I will be able to eat and what will agree with everyone else. And I don't think I've asked any of my friends if they can come to my yet-unplanned party. Or if they find the idea of a scavenger hunt (I don't want to do anything huge in case most of my friends bail on me again...) acceptable. "As the memory of my sixteenth birthday party descended upon me like a dark cloud, I became obviously depressed." (How very clich of me.) "I sat and contemplated my half-finished post, wondering if I should just delete the whole thing, really change my name to Squirrels McBabsy, and start packing. But I sighed, clicked the 'Create this Awesome Entry' button, and left my unsatisfactory post to its fate." I didn't actually sigh. --- :| I wish the forums were more active. Just about everytime I go there, nothing has changed. It's sad. ---Edit--- This guy has like, a badger coming out of his shirt. :S Comment! (3) | Recommend! Okay, I've waited long enough Sunday, August 17, 2008 A fair amount of people looked at the comic already. Now, a normal entry. Budgies having a treat on top of the cage. Random picture I took of my brother drinking. Rectangular-ish pizza. So I discovered a new artist, Marco V. His music is seriously awesome. I like a lot of kinds of electronic music, but I've always been especially partial to ones that have a deeper sound. I couldn't explain it to you really, but there's just something that's noticeable to me. I'm really at a loss as to why one of my entries is the in the Monthly Top 10. I mean, that one isn't even really very interesting or anything. Then again, I've been experiencing weird popularity recently, this could just be connected. Sometimes I wonder why people read my blog. (I want to say site, because I absolutely despise the word 'blog', but it's more correct :|) People might say that it's interesting and whatnot, but I dunno. Comment! (8) | Recommend! Some randomosities Friday, August 15, 2008 I was discussing the subject of suicide with Angie. I'm under the impression that my opinons were frustrating her somewhat. And/or freaking her out. When views clash... :| I've been listening to "Eyes Without a Face" for a long time. I don't like the part where it gets more... hardcore? I dunno. Just that part that's sort of a little past the middle. It doesn't feel the same as the rest of the song. It kind of bugs me that my hair is pretty much straight until the bottom, where it tends to curve out. It looks weird... like I did it on purpose or something. I was reading PostSecret cards yesterday/today. There are a lot that are sad. And a lot that aren't really secrets at all... Then I was wondering what I would say if I ever sent one in, and I realized that I don't have any secrets that I haven't told anyone... At least, not any that seem worthwhile. If I did end up sending one in, I don't think it would make it onto the site or into a book. ---Edit--- I think I find this a little too funny... CLICKIES And I love his expression in the last panel in this one... Comment! (8) | Recommend! Is that a blawg? Wednesday, August 13, 2008 My dad is pretty internet-savvy, but my mom fails at it. Seriously, she can check her email and search on Google but that's about it. I was just thinking of the way she asks about things. Whenever I'm writing an entry here and she sees she asks "are you talking to someone?" Although I'm glad she obviously isn't close enough to read whatever I'm writing, it's just... weird. Like "for the millionth time mom, I'm writing an entry, not chatting it up with random strangers." Eh well. Pictures from yesterday... A bug on the windshield. The "Amazing Chinese Acrobats" or something. There was actually a lot more than this but we got there kind of late. Woo, bunch of people riding a bike with fans! Trevor and Aaron were playing foosball (which, when typed out, looks really weird) and Trevor had something of a disadvantage... He kept saying "it's not fair!" haha. :P Caveman riding the Sky Glider or whatever it's called. They have a cavewoman too, but I didn't take a picture of her. Down below. A lighter picture, where you can see that there are actually people. And this I took today: Behold, my almighty canvas. So, a summary of yesterday/night's events. We picked up Aaron, then Trevor (who now has a moustache and sideburns...) and headed to the Boardwalk. My friend Gwenny (Aaron is her brother) and her mom were supposed to meet us a little later, but they were delayed a while. We played some games in the arcade and rode a few rides before they came. Aaron did not really enjoy Fireball, but it was pretty funny to watch him scream and close his eyes in an attempt to not be freaked out more than he already was. I hung out with the guys until Gwenny showed up, then we played some more games in the arcade (well okay, the big one, there are a lot of arcades). We rode Riptide, the Rock-O-Plane, Wipeout, and the Sky Glider (because I didn't want to walk to the other end of the park :P). There isn't much to say after that. We went home (Gwenny, Aaron, and their mom drove home in their own car) around maybe ten thirty-ish. Trevor and my brother fell asleep, and I did too for about twenty minutes... I stayed up a little longer when we got back. Elliot was watching The Darwin Awards, which... to be honest, I'd never heard of before. It wasn't bad though. Well, the parts I saw, I mean. I was kind of tired though, so I took a shower and went to sleep... You'd think I'd have more to say, but nope, not really. :P Holy crap. I had no idea it took so much work to make comics... now I really feel like I have to support him or something.... --- It's too hot to eat. :| Comment! (14) | Recommend!
