'tis Wednesday...
Wednesday. 1.10.07 9:57 am
and I'm still here. I just can't believe that I'm still around. I come to work and people are like "OH, you're still here!" I didn't think it was that much of a surprise. I guess they're just anxious to see my baby, I suppose...

As stated in a previous entry, my mom flies in today from Seattle. It was pretty windy this morning, so I hope the wind doesn't cause any flight delays or anything coming over the mountains. I know the descent into Denver can be pretty bumpy, but I hope all goes well. I always get nervous when people fly, so I'm nervous about my mom flying...but she'll make it here okay.

Someone made soup or something for breakfast here because it smells like chicken noodle soup or something. It might just be me, but eww...it doesn't smell very good.

Anyway, got lots of work to do...and well, I'm leaving early for the doctor, so I have to do it before I usually do it to get it done!

The little pink bouncy bunny seems to make an appearance quite often...hehe

Tuesday. 1.9.07 11:25 pm
I'm going to leave this short and sweet...

MY MOMMY IS FLYING INTO DENVER TOMORROW!!! I moved my doctor's appointment until tomorrow...so, I'll get to see how dialated I am tomorrow and hopefully everything is going all well. Don't want to go to the hospital and have the baby tomorrow, so...cross your fingers for me :)

Anyway...gonna watch TV for a little bit. I just realized I'm hella tired :( I think I might go to bed early.

**man...I went to Spectrum Nexus to read more Fruits Basket (or well, to see if more was available) and I guess they told them to take down their scans :( That made me sad...oh well, I still buy them anyway, but I get impatient and want to know what happens!!!**

I'm still awake...
Monday. 1.8.07 2:16 am
oh well

I've got work in the morning, but eh. I'll get enough sleep to get me by and that's really all that I need.

Gonna gobble some Tums down and let them get rid of my heartburn. I'll be glad when that's all over. I've never had heartburn before this pregnancy thing, so I can pretty much guarantee that it'll go away (but then I'll get something else to replace it...haha)...

I feel pretty accomplished today (well, now it's yesterday). I cleaned out my car (trunk and backseat and all) and the only thing left to do is vacuum the sucker out. I didn't have any change when I was at the car was thing today, so I'll do it eventually. I was surprised that I am still finding broken glass in my car from when the people broke into my car and stole my stereo. I thought I had cleaned it all up, but I guess not. I'll eventually vacuum it all away - ONE DAY.

I attempted to put the baby seat in the car but I am almost positive I did it wrong. I'm going to get Brian to help me and then we'll follow the instructions. I can just see something bad happening if I don't get it checked out. Might be beneficial to stop by the fire department by my house and make sure that the baby seat is in there right. I think they'll help you with that...if not, there's always the hospital that will do it.

Other than that, I went to Target today and got myself an entry rug to put in my entry way. Since it's been so soggy with the snow outside, we've been tracking in a lot of muddy water and whatnot and I really don't want to have to keep mopping things up. So far, the rug adds a nice decorative touch and it will keep the feet dry and all that. I'm happy with it.

Cleaned up the kitchen big time. I need to clean up the apartment (at least the living area and the kitchen) so I can notify maintenance that the garbage disposal is not working. I didn't want to ask them to come in here and fix it and then have the place look like a nightmare. I've got the kitchen down...just the living room to go (I'm going to make Brian clean that up)...he's got computer parts and boxes strewn about the living room and I am not going to clean that up. The couch was all cleaned off so I could lay on it and be comfortable and he's got towels and his socks/underwear (clean, mind you) laying on the couch - along with a big bag of candy and then half of his old computer case. The new fans and wires and cables are laying in the middle of the floor with plastic bags and screws next to them...and then he's got a big box just sitting in the middle of the floor. To think, the living room was cleaned up a few days ago...then Brian started getting computer stuff...ugh...

I suppose my biggest pet peeve is that he sits there and watches me do the laundry and fix dinner and clean-up and all that...and he hardly ever offers to help me. I mean, he does to some extent...but mostly it's not a word. I wouldn't mind so much if it was me and I wasn't 39 weeks pregnant feeling like I'm about to explode...but I have a hard enough time as it is bending over and tying my shoes let alone sitting here doing all of our laundry and cleaning the bathroom and washing the dishes. I guess this is what it's like to be domesticated...I'm not sure if I'm enjoying it all too much...but I'll do it, I guess.

Anyway - I think I'm going to quit bitching about things I cannot change and go to bed. I've gotta get up in about 5 hours or so to get ready to go to work...and I at least want to feel a little bit rested.

I'm not feeling so hot...
Sunday. 1.7.07 6:50 am
I woke up about 3:30 am because I was feeling crampy...and it's not that the cramps hurt or anything, it's just uncomfortable. Well, they do hurt...but I'm still so confused about this whole contraction thing. I mean, from what I heard and described to the doctor, they do sound like contractions...but I was thinking they would hurt more like some sort of unbearable pain. These just feel like uncomfortable period cramping and I don't know of those are contractions or not. I wish there was a hot button or something that flashed when you were having a contraction so you would know for us in-the-dark, first-time preggo women. Ugh...SO CONFUSED.

I still have so much stuff to do too. If I don't feel so incredibly shitty that I can't do anything today, I'm going to just throw everything that was in my trunk that I wanted to keep (we ended up throwing it in the back seat of my car) and bagging it up in the big 30 gallon garbage bags...haul it inside and go through it later. I absolutely have to make sure that the baby has his seat in the car so if I do actually go into labor these next few days, we can actually take the little guy home. I'm so lazy that I've not even gotten that done yet...and with all this fucking snow we've been having, it's really hard to actually do anything outside to get it cleaned up. It's depressing...

Still need to pack my overnight bag for the hospital (YES, I know...why am I doing that right now? I'm LAZY!!!)...

Found a good list of what things that I probably should pack.

LIST, listed below:

• Your birth plan (I don't have one...whatever happens, happens)
• Your insurance card and any hospital paperwork you need (already checked into the hospital, so I don't need to do anything of this)
• Your eyeglasses, if you need any. Even if you usually wear contacts, you'll probably need or want to take them out at some point during your stay. (check...I'm blind without them, so they'll be on my face at all times)
• A hair band and barrettes, if you think you might want them (yes, my hair pisses me off anyway, so it's in a ponytail most of the time now)
• Lip moisturizer (got that...use it daily as it is - dry, winter weather)
• A bathrobe, nightgown, slippers, and a couple of pairs of socks.(got a pair of pajamas and whatnot that I want to wear after I have the baby, have two pairs of slippers because my feet get cold, and I have a long, fleece bathrobe...I'll be wearing this! Hospitals are cold!!!)
• Something to read, if you're so inclined (I might bring a magazine with puzzles to do to hold me over...they've got a TV with a DVD player and all that, so I might just watch TV and a movie instead of reading...reading takes too much thought and I suppose I'll be in a lot of pain)
• Massage oils or lotions, music, an extra pillow, whatever you need to help you relax. (I don't think I'll be bringing any of this...the only thing that I'm bringing to help me relax is a stuffed kangaroo that used to be Brian's when he was younger and it'll keep me focussed...I'm all about the stuffed animals)
• Talismans, a picture of someone or something you love, anything you find reassuring. (I'm going to bring the picture of my dog and whatnot that I have next to my bed...at least make it feel a bit like home for the time being - I'll probably grab the picture of me and my dad too because he won't be able to be here and I'm crossing my fingers that my mom will physically get to be here when it's all happening...if not, I'll bring a picture of her too)
• Money for parking and change for vending machines. (They gave us free parking passes...and honestly, if you get there and leave late enough, it's free anyway because the little booth closes down)
• A few basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant.(A MUST HAVE...I will definitely want to take a shower or something after the baby is born...after I sleep a little bit)
• Some snacks and something to read during the early stages. (Me, I can't have anything at all once I'm admitted to the hospital during the whole labor thing because I'll automatically be on an IV, but possibly for Brian...and anyone else. They'll want something)
• A camera/video camera and film or tape or a memory card and batteries. (Check...need to charge my camera though, but other than that...the camera is good to go)
• A bathing suit. If your partner wants to take a bath or shower during labor, you may want to jump in with her. (haha...Brian doesn't need a bathing suit...I might like the idea of going in the bathtub, but he doesn't have to go in there with me...hehe...he can just sit on the side...it's a jacuzzi!)
• A nursing bra, breast pads, and maternity underwear, if you'd prefer not to wear the net panties they'll give you at the hospital. (Got that...having trouble finding a nursing bra, but then again, I haven't really been looking...I'm sure whatever I have will do for now until I can get a legitimate one)
• Your address book and prepaid phone card or cell phone. After the baby's born you'll want to call family and friends to let them know the good news. (Most of this is stored into my cell phone...the important people I would want to call anyway and my mom's got her phone book in her purse, so she'll call everyone)
• A going-home outfit. Bring something roomy and easy to get into (Check...need something to wear home from the hospital...they say to wear something you could have worn when you were 6 months pregnant and since I was wearing the same clothes, I don't think that should be a problem...I've only gained 15 pounds this entire time)
• An infant car seat. You can't drive your baby home without one! (THIS WILL BE IN THE CAR BY TODAY...I PROMISE)
• A going-home outfit (one-piece stretchy outfits are easiest) and a snowsuit if it's very cold (Got that...He's got a little snow suit and he's got a big nightgown type snow suit that's all fleece (it sort of looks like a bunting bag) - I need to find an outfit I want him to wear when he goes home...I washed all the clothes, so it shouldn't be that hard)
• A receiving blanket (a heavy one if the weather's cold) (Yup...bringing a receiving blanket to swaddle him up anyway and then I've got about 10 fleece blankets to choose from since it's been about 20 degrees here)
• A pair of socks or booties (got that...I figured he'd need socks because it is REALLY cold outside...and I'm bringing him little mittens too. I don't want his hands to freeze right away...if I'm wearing gloves, he's gonna wear gloves)
• A cap (although they'll usually give you one at the hospital)(Got this too...hat is very important here in Denver with the cold COLD weather...Brian and I about burned our faces and ears standing out in the cold wind yesterday because we weren't wearing hats or earmuffs)
• Baby nail clippers or emery board.(I don't know if these are necessary if I just make him wear mittens at the hospital...he won't scratch his face if his hands are covered)

I think this list is a good place to start. I think one thing the list didn't say was changes of clothes for at the hospital. If I'm there for a two days or so, they said that we could dress the baby in whatever we'd like as the hospital is only required to send the baby home in a diaper (WOW...even in the middle of the winter, only a diaper)...and I mean, if we want him to look cute in the hospital, he can wear his own clothes and all (before he grows out of them right away)...SO, I might pack him a few nightgowns or something just in case.

Other than that...I'm a little chilled at the moment. It's only 5:15am and I had shut the heat off in the house because it was a blazing inferno...now it's a frigid 65 probably...my feeties are freezing off!

Ugh...
Saturday. 1.6.07 1:20 pm
I think I'm slacking. I don't think I posted at all yesterday and that's bad for me.

Yesterday, Denver had some more snow (seriously, I think we're even getting tired of it). This is the 3rd time it has snowed some significant amount of snow in the past 3 weeks. Getting REALLY fed up with this snow. It's supposed to snow next Friday too...WHY?! Can't we just get into the Spring already!

I called into work yesterday morning because I wasn't feeling very good (I had been in and out of the bathroom all night feeling all crappy and stuff) and then I think I started to have some contractions and whatnot. I was really crampy and then it would go away...and then about 10/15 minutes later, I'd get all crampy again...and then it'd go away. SO, I slept for about an hour or so more...and then I didn't feel any sort of cramps or anything and I was feeling better, so Brian drove me to work on his way to work and I stay there (on account of the snow). Felt fine the rest of the day...they let me leave early from work because they didn't want me there if I was feeling crappy and all that. They are convinced that I'm going to have my baby this weekend, but I beg to differ. I'm bound and determined to hold out until my mom gets here...and that's 5 days from now!

Anyway, today is going to be eventful I suppose. We're going to go grocery shopping here in a little bit...and then I'm going to clean my car out. I think we should clean my car out before we go grocery shopping, but the garbage man has not come yet...and the dumpsters are completely full...AGAIN. I heard him in the parking lot this morning, so I know he's around somewhere...maybe he emptied other dumpsters, so I'll go find other dumpsters.

We're going to go eat at The Melting Pot tonight after we get all the running around done and over with. That should be interesting...never really had authentic fondue before, so we'll see.

Anyway, better go get my orange sweet rolls out of the oven before they burn up! I'm good at burning up food!!!

my morning updates turned to evening ones...
Thursday. 1.4.07 10:23 pm
I was doing so good updating every morning, but I've been so busy lately that I don't have time to even do it at lunch time or anything at work :( I ended up working mostly through my lunch today (I did leave to get McDonald's, but then I came back and worked and all). I ended up staying there until 7:30 tonight, so I worked a 12 hour day...ugh, it feels good to be home.

I think I pissed the baby off this morning. I got up and took a nice, hot shower (Brian says my water is too hot...hehe, I LOVE HOT WATER) and got all my clothes on and all that and was in the living room putting my shoes on. I was sitting in a lawn chair doing so and I guess I bent over a bit too far for his liking and he started kicking the shit out of me...and then he was giving me bad cramps all morning. I hope to God I didn't just prompt him to move south and start to want to come out now. He has to wait at least 5 more days! He can do all he wants after I pick my mom up from the airport on Wednesday night. She gets here at 7:30pm or something like that. I was telling my mom all the cramps I was getting today and she told me to tell the baby that she was excited to see him too, but he can't be excited to come out until Grandma gets here...hehe...my mom is so funny.

Brian tried to install his motherboard into his computer last night only to find out that his case is too small for it to fit in there with all of his stuff and he's going to have to buy a new case :( Poor thing...he's been waiting for a while for this motherboard and he finally gets one that would work and all that (the last one he received was D.O.A. when it came) and it doesn't fit in the case! I suppose that could only be our luck...lol

Anyway, I'm going to vegetate here for a little bit longer...and then bed for me!

Ooops...if you're reading this and there was nothing there before, I apologize.

Came across this link on the Net and thought I would share. If you like to watch shows (and there's a lot on this website in different genres and all that), you can catch a ton here: TV Links.

I've sort of gotten addicted to Ugly Betty, so I can watch the entire season on there...they've got tons of anime...and tons of cartoon shows too that aren't anime. A bit of everything for everyone!

Anyway, done sharing...gotta get to bed as I have to get up early and take a shower before I go to work in the morning. Ugh...I don't want to get up early!!!
