A few words
"When we describe the Moon as dead, we are describing the deadness in ourselves. When we find space so hideously void, we are describing our own unbearable emptiness." ~ D.H. Lawrence "Is the meaning of life defined by its duration? Or does life have a purpose so large that it doesn't have to be prolonged at any cost to preserve its meaning?" "Living is not good, but living well. The wise man, therefore, lives as well as he should, not as long as he can... He will always think of life in terms of quality not quantity... Dying early or late is of no relevance, dying well or ill is... even if it is true that while there is life there is hope, life is not to be bought at any cost." ~ Seneca "People will tell you nothing matters, the whole world's about to end soon anyway. Those people are looking at life the wrong way. I mean, things don't need to last forever to be perfect." ~ Daydream Nation "All Bette's stories have happy endings. That's because she knows where to stop. She's realized the real problem with stories-- if you keep them going long enough, they always end in death." ~ The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes "The road now stretched across open country, and it occurred to me - not by way of protest, not as a symbol, or anything like that, but merely as a novel experience - that since I had disregarded all laws of humanity, I might as well disregard the rules of traffic. So I crossed to the left side of the highway and checked the feeling, and the feeling was good. It was a pleasant diaphragmal melting, with elements of diffused tactility, all this enhanced by the thought that nothing could be nearer to the elimination of basic physical laws than deliberately driving on the wrong site of the road." ~ Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita "It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend." ~ William Blake Think about it Musicalities! Kill that boredom!

Sunday, January 4, 2009 Yesterday a most exciting thing happened! I was officially made TWoN rep! :D CLICKIES for a picture that makes me laugh. --- I finished Part One of the reward comic. Six panels, all color. Part Two will be finished whenever I get to it. (Looking back on Part One, it's not as funny as I initially thought it would be. Oh well....) --- Trying to think of a day to do the TWoN posts. Friday sound good? Comment! (3) | Recommend! Varsha's b-day thingy [Default password] Saturday, January 3, 2009 Comment! Jack is magic Thursday, January 1, 2009 We were watching the Twilight Zone marathon on Sci Fi yesterday night. -Commercial for magicJack comes on- Ad dude: nine hundred... up to a THOUSAND DOLLARS you could save! Me: Who pays a thousand dollars for their phone service? Dad: Idiots. I am, at the moment, working on the $100 reward comic. Unfortunately it won't be quite as fancy or big as the $50 one, but it's a bit more work for me, since I already had the Physics comics all done. Unless you'd be content with me uploading all the scary pictures we drew in Physics... :P [It looks like I do have a while to go still, before I hit that big mark] (If you want me to include you in the comic tell me and I'll see what I can do) Comment! (5) | Recommend! We played Lexulous Wednesday, December 31, 2008 Comment! (3) | Recommend! Like... a week's worth of pictures I guess Monday, December 29, 2008 Right. So. We went to Borders last Monday, where I coughed up a fit and had to have a little cup of water at the caf so I wouldn't hack up my lungs. While there, I saw, among other things, these tree-top ornaments. They made me laugh, and if you can figure out why I will be completely shocked. Here are the presents I wrapped for my friends. (It would appear that I was the only one who had presents on time) When Angie opened hers she gave this.. gasp? I dunno. But it was kind of the sort of thing that seems to mean "I can't believe you got this amazing thing I was never expecting!!!!" I thought that was funny because it was just soap. It's kind of like how moms always give the same response to their kids' gifts. -Gasp!- Oh honey, it's wonderful! We're putting this on the fridge/special shelf/in the trashcan as soon as you aren't looking! (Not that I... don't appreciate your amusing reaction, Angie, it just seemed out of place) Went to a laundromat with "BIG SCREEN TVS" and a "SNACKBAR" and "VIDEO GAMES." It was slightly less dumpy than the one we usually go to, had tiny TVs, old video games against the wall that were plugged in but not on, and a vending machine. Talk about false advertising. I thought it looked like it was built in the sixties, but my mom said it had to be from the eighties. If you put rubber-backed rugs in the washer it can result in "seriuos" damage. It doesn't have the little thing over the n but the name made me laugh... inside. Also this way the kid won't get cavities. It's win-win! Tiny pears! When I was trying to take this picture in TJ Maxx this guy kept coming into the aisle and I had to wait for him to leave. Ranch 99 sucks. My mom made me go there for the first time in years the other day. There was a half-eaten pear in the noodle aisle. I wanted to take a picture of the square bread but we left that section... So here's quail eggs instead. Asian bread seems like it's always perfectly square. I'm not completely sure how they do it. Weird name for coffee in a can. I looked at this box of crackers just because it said 'cheese'. The description is funny. [Click the picture to see a bigger image] (I can totally imagine an asian person saying that) Graffiti. Saw this in the back window of a car in the parking lot of the mall we went to yesterday. Eating at the NEW FOODCOURT. Well, they ate. I just had a smoothie. And two fries. And half a doughnut at Safeway earlier. And a pear before that. And that was basically all I had the whole day. I always see this at the little smoothie place but I'm not entirely sure if you can get it or not. I bought a can of Pringles at Rite-Aid for ninety nine cents. We were wondering if this was why... Every chip was broken. There wasn't a single one intact. Angie suggested that perhaps some dumbass dropped all of the cans. Got this at the mall. :) I like the older comic artwork better. It seems like nowadays everything is all... shiny. It's weird... My dad was removing things from behind the dryer last night. There was a lot of stuff. (Um, the basket of clothes wasn't included though, that's mine) It's crazy how you can see where all the traffic has been on the carpet. OKAY, so yesterday. Let me see. Woke up at ten, Angie came around eleven, we called Lucy, who was asleep, waited a little, then walked to Safeway. We called Lucy again, this time asked her parents to wake her up, and were told she'd meet us at around one. So... by this time we had like half an hour to kill SO we uh... walked... around. -Ahem- We got back to Safeway just before Lucy showed up, then we walked to the mall. (And that's how I burned off half a doughnut) Before, we had sorta planned to maybe see a movie, but we decided that we didn't have enough time because Lucy had to be home by four. (She had to go to a party which actually started at six, but she didn't know that) Lucy and I got smoothies, then we headed to see the new foodcourt. I'd seen it already once, when we went to the mall to do that stupid family picture. Lucy and Angie hadn't though, so it was cool for them. There are only like four places open in it as of yet but it looks quite promising. (Our nearest mall was kind of dying, but now they're bringing in lots of things so it'll be fine again) They both got garlic fries, and we sat at a table near these German-speaking businessmen. It was cool because... I dunno. It was just kinda cool. Not that many people speak German around here. Mostly it's like, asian languages. And I can't really tell them apart, nor do I care to. After the fries Angie was thirsty, so we went back to the smoothie place, she got a smoothie, then we sat on a bench and discussed sitcom plot ideas until she finished. It was... amusing. {Watching TV on the computer, something I won't be able to do in a short while since we stopped our cable service. An ad for "Strap Perfect" just played. It was funny. One of its 'perks' is making your boobs look bigger. :P} I think we just started walking back after that. Lucy's mom picked us up about halfway along and took us to Lucy's place. We walked around, then modeled for Lucy (she wants models so she can practice drawing). The modeling was interesting. One of us had to talk while Lucy took pictures of the other. I was bad at it. I kept making Angie laugh. Angie talked about law or something. I can't remember because I started zoning out soon after she started talking. Man, she's good at droning. When Lucy had to leave, we walked back to my house. I made some fizzy strawberry lemonade, which we finished off, and then later Angie's mom picked her up. And that was pretty much yesterday. Oh, also I linked some new webcomics in the KtB module. Comment! (8) | Recommend! Longer one tomorrow if I can Sunday, December 29, 2008 Eventful day. I'll try and post the pictures that've been waiting in camera purgatory tomorrow. Too tired now, and it's only nine thirty. Fizzy strawberry lemonade is good. Comment! (1) | Recommend!
