On Saturday there was a tournament on Bainbridge Island. Nobody really takes it seriously, it's more of a "warm-up" tournament so to speak, a good place to practice upgraded routines before Regionals....but, the first bulletin on my list of resolutions was accomplished . Not only did I beat Jesse in freestyle, but I beat him 7.87 to 6.07 (out of 10). Bwahaha....albeit, he missed a lot trying new stuff and the judges were fairly inexperienced, BUT STILL. And I got placed first, so you know...

Hehe Brittany asked me to tolo today. It was a long, Matrix-themed scavenger hunt around town that centered around the theme of "follow the white rabbit"...and may or may not have inolved me popping, locking, and dropping it in the middle of the mall. It was all good fun because everything had something to do with The Matrix, and I decided to play along and bring my Neo glasses just for good measure. Oh and I said yes, so tolo is definitely this Saturday

My sister might have pink eye. It's not so much of a shock; I'm surprised the bacteria festering beneath her piles of make-up hadn't infected her sooner. I suppose it's karma, seeing as how she used up 100% of the hot water in the house and forced my mom and I to wait to do laundry and take showers ourselves. Apparenlty while I was out with Brittany she also threw a fit when she discovered that she would have to wash the pots and take out the dishes today. Yeah, your life sucks doesn't it. Get over yourself....'

Do not try to bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead, try to realize the truth. There is no spoon. Then you will see that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself.
Oh my gawd, Muffy posted another jump rope video

Woops. I should probably be finishing my Culminating Project...but I couldn't resist!

My singles freestyle routine from Trials. For never practicing, I don't mind the misses

Ok, time to work...real entry coming later.

It's a good life

I love being busy. I thrive on it. Fortunately, my calendar has been full of entertaining opportunities to slake the longing of my restless soul. Between the state finals, UW halftime show, additional performances, a tournament on Bainbridge Island, Tolo, the Stair Climb for Leukemia, the WJEA Journalism Conference...so many things to keep me occupied! This is very exciting indeed. I just feel like lately I've been locked in my room all day being unproductive that I'm wasting the precious time I have left in this life before college. Not that NuTang is unproductive, of course....

*Sigh* My poor girlfriend has not been at school lately due to her shingles, and as a result she's giving Randy a run for her money on the Top Active list.

Taking a small step away from the happiness of the earlier part of this entry, I present another Muffy rant. Today's topic: the sister (and I'm sure I've covered this before, but the raging never ends). Since as long as I've been alive, I've had the smaller half of the bathroom counter. My 1/3 to my sister's 2/3. Yet somehow, she manages to desecrate her side AND pile the filth on mine as well. We're talking "the-bubonic-plauge-could-grow-here" kind of mess. Her hair straightener is completely caked with coverup, I'm surprised it hasn't self-destructed. Every night I throw everything into her side, and every night I find the same, slimy hair straightener sitting in mysteriously appearing puddles of water....on my side, with numerous of cosmetic products as well. She must have Gremlins hidden somewhere under the sink, I'm determined to find their nest and put an end to this madness forever.

...
But I'm still happy
Oh, and updated list of New Years Resolutions (you bet I haven't forgotten):
  • Beat Jesse at singles freestyle (or win with him in pairs)

  • Be more proactive

  • Build a better relationship with my family

  • Take shorter showers

  • Eat slower

  • Go to bed before midnight, every night

We lost . Not that I really expected to win against the returning state champs who have a 56-game winning streak, but I didn't want to be down by 30 either. But in the end I think I'm happy with the way things turned out...placing second in state isn't half bad, and we've been all over the news these past few days. And I love seeing that blue and white....Eagles baby.

Finally, a media production that does my sport justice. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you.....Jump! No, I'm not in it, but it's all familiar faces, faces of real jump ropers, none of that Corbin Bleau Disney BS. Check out the video section...I was soooo excited to look at the animation of the opening credits. It's a REAL movie...FINALLY!!!

Ugh, I can't believe this weekend is over already. I didn't really do anything, I don't know how it flew by so fast. But that seems to be the trend of the whole year, everything is flying by fast. I can't believe that in three months I'll be returning to the Tacoma Dome dressed to walk at graduation...ridiculous.

In lieu of the innuendo, in the end know my intent though

You know what, today was a good day. I got accepted to WWU. I have another halftime show for the UW. I found good music. The Hi-Def Iron Man trailer is beautiful. So is my girlfriend, even though she doesn't listen to me (told you so :P) I got my consecutive backhandsprings / standing backflip at gymnastics. Oh, and....

WE MADE IT TO FINALS

We upset Franklin, we beat Lincoln, we won against our cross-town rivals, Decatur, and now boys basketball is going to finals for the first time in school history. Tomorrow, at 7:00pm, under the overarching ceiling of the Tacoma Dome, in the stands and on the court, this shit's about to go down.

On a sidenote, I catpured this video on my Bellingham travels last weekend:

Geese in the air, geese on the ground...it was ridiculous. And boy do they stink. Just like the crappy video quality, sorry about that . Cellphone's just can't do it all....

I picked up an interesting survey from the Space...but I'm not the one who has to fill it out. Don't feel obligated, and by all means, if you decide to take it, please be honest. I realize some of the questions don't really apply to Nutangers because we only know each other through the internet, so feel free to scratch those or any others that you don't want to answer. Survey here.

Something I picked up off Youtube:

I love how she says it so earnestly, with the finger point and all...and then just blows it. I can see the headline though:
FIRST GAY MAN CLIMBS MT. EVEREST

But it doesn't beat this one:

Waiting for the change...

Eh. I've been sitting here for a good 15 minutes deciding if I have the initiative to post. I don't, but I need to write.

Bellingham was blah. There was nothing special to it. The halftime shows sucked, it wasn't particularly fun, Jake's dad is a 2 year old...but for some reason I want to go back.

I just want to get away. No, I'm not complaining about my life. I have nothing to complain about. I don't want to leave my life behind...I just want a break. Bellingham did that for me. And there were stars...wow. I've never seen the sky like that before. I couldn't help but look up at the universe and feel completely useless, just another speck of matter against the huge backdrop of existence. I felt so insignificant, all the worries of my life felt so insignificant, it was like taking a step back and looking at the bigger picture. It felt so good...

And now I'm back, worrying about school tomorrow, about scholarships, about college....back to worrying about the same old thing I've worried about every other day for the past five years.

I saw Step Up 2 tonight. Much to my surprise I didn't fall asleep, so I got to witness all of the bad acting and predictable story firsthand. The dancing wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything YouTube doesn't already have to offer. I could've told anybody this, but Brittany and her dad wanted to go so I felt obliged...plus I had slept through our date on Friday so I felt a tinge guilty. My favorite part was a 2.4 second clip of some girls doing double dutch speed on "the streets." I was surprised and excited that the little segment didn't make jump roping look like shit.

I needa go sleep now. Hopefully I'll feel more cheerful in the morning.

Less backstabbing, more love

Do girls have any real friends? It seems like nearly all females are fake to each others' faces in at least some way (and sometimes worse to the opposite sex, but I won't go into that). They can go from "yay best friends for life" to "omg what a bitch" almost instantly. No comprendo.

The catalyst in my pondering has been primarly my girlfriend, who has been on the recieving end of these wildly swinging relationships lately, but some members of my team are also involved in their own struggles...though with a little less innocence. Both cases involve estranged "best friends," a good deal of animosity, and some easily resolved bull shit. Girls complain and complain about drama but ooooh boy can they stir it up. No comprendo! There is a simple solution to all of this: don't hate people. Ta-da, the problems of the world are solved! You're allowed to be pissed off, but don't make it someone else's issue.

So I will be frolicking up in Bellingham this weekend. I'm driving up to do a halftime performance at a basketball game, and then staying with Jake and his dad at some relative's house. Jake is an 8th grader. His dad, if he weren't 6' 0", could be easily mistaken for an eight grader as well. Under normal circumstances I would dread having to babysit the two of them, but I think this will be a good opportunity to just relax. I've also been going through jump rope-trip withdrawls so hopefully this will remedy that. And I'm bringing my laptop so hopefuly some hapless noob with have an unsecured wireless network ripe for Internet stealing.

BOOM, posted at midnight.
Muffy over and out!

P.S. Oh yes, and I also conquered both the Dark Side and the Sunny Day. Sweet victory.
